I think the reason for the MH Fearidescent dolls being so high (/low) on the list is that they have polypropylene hair. I was really excited for them (I love their looks, and the strong theming through the line) but then I found out they have poly hair and nope.

the kylie collab i saw yesterday at walmart i couldnt believe my eyes. i wouldnt let any child play with anything from that "family". ugh

I think the best way to make an Ursula doll is to make her like a regular mermaid doll, but instead of hiding her two legs under the fabric, she should come with 8 legs and the tentacles can be the fabric that covers her legs. She should also come with her Vanessa dress, and her legs should be removable to turn her into Vanessa. That would be the stuff of nightmares

The Magic Mixies Pixlings packaging waste is next level.

Yeah, for Fearidescent its definitely the hair that got them so high on the least favorites list. The hair is not just awful polypropylene, the hair on the dolls was also so thin and badly rooted (very patchy), so some of them were like really bald in certain places. And you cannot check in store if you are getting a good one because of the blind-box thing. So like for me, I ended up buying and opening three Draculauras before I got one that wasn't a horrific bald mess with wonky eyes! And yes, I took the other two back to the store (which I don't like doing but, I had to...the other dolls were just SO BAD!) I just think for collectors, we do not like the blind box thing because doll companies just don't do their due diligence of quality control checking so we want to be able to check ourselves and see if we got a good one before we buy it. And we also don't like it when the hair feels and looks like shiiii...I mean, straw. 😉

I didn’t buy any of this line because I think they look awful. The shiny fabric looks dollar store cheap and are visibly off in both color & texture from the other wardrobe pieces, and the hair is REALLY bad. The only one I’m even interested in is Cleo and I’m waiting for her to go on clearance, I’m not paying $30 for this glaring lack of quality. I hope the next wave having less expensive packaging means that they will put more of the budget into clothes & accessories.

Thank you for the explanation! I only got Frankie from this line and mine looks fantastic, so I didn't understand the low rating. Sure, there's the polypropylene hair, but since I was expecting it, I was actually relieved it was good enough to keep. Guess I really lucked out!

The magic mixies pixlings are actually cute imo. I have the first wave, but only cause local toy stores sold them without the blindbox gimmick and told you what you get. I just think the entire bottle gimmick is too wasteful. Children might enjoy it tho

Fearidescent is actually a great line. I got 4 out of the 5 and there were just a few minor issues with the, easily solved with a light boil wash and some conditionner.

For someone like me who don’t care about articulation especially made to move body, I’m happy to sacrifice articulation for quality clothes

The Disney ILY 3 pack was amazing! Great clothes, beautiful in set eyes!, cute accessories....i have no regrets. I am looking forward to the new wave for 2024! EEEEE

Thing is with the Disney limited edition dolls is that it used to be the opposite, if you removed them there was all kinds of quality and details that weren't shown in the box. Now it's just like you said, they're best in the box hiding the quality cuts.

Tbh monster high g3 in terms of dolls have been improving-we are getting much more dolls that feel much more like fashionable altarnative g1 dolls then just mordern barbie but furry Also if people legit think draculaura is fat then i must be straight out obese cause that girl is just skinny, im sorry but she is-not every skinny person look like clawdeen some do look like draculaura shes just curvy

I'm surprised the Mixies Pixlings and g3 monster high are on here. The pixies are precious and the g3 MH dolls have been improving so much. I did get the Mirabel LE. Was she worth it? No. But it was worth it for her.

What's with the voters, I thought g3 MH was super popular lol, I seriously love them so much. I also got Mariah and I think she's more beautiful in person than I was expecting, but $125 CAD was 😵‍💫. With the holiday Barbies, last year I complained about no glam makeup, no jewelry, and a super plain dress...they honestly brought all that to the table this year. For 2023 quality, I think they're cute.

I have my critiques of g3 (and Mattel in general) but I still love the dolls and buy quite a few. I like the direction they appear to be taking the brand and hope they continue to improve.

The polly hair is atrocious on MH dolls

Always thought the MH G3 hate are force af, most of the dolls are stunning, as someone who has no nostalgic feelings towards the brand, I much prefer G3 over G1.

Why is g3 monster high on this list???? Is every single doll a slay? No but enough of them are pretty great and they actually have character diversity. The people who say G1 is the only generation of monster high need to quit it with the nostalgia goggles. There were plenty of bad dolls then. That said i think skulltimate secrets 2 fearidescent is on here just because of the polypropylene hair and how impossible the bangs are on Frankie and drac. That said- if you really carefully wash and boil the hair they can look really slay but it’s a lot of effort to get there. I feel like fearidescent was just a let down cuz we had so many dolls up to that point that used Saran which can look fine out of the box and the designs of the dolls for the line was SO cute. Just a let down to get a Frankie with bangs going every direction and hair that feels like it was deep fried.

Their ends will still look awful-and even then the hair will fall out in a decade , the hhair is just awful and shouldnt be excused Yeah some of the dolls have good designs but its diffcult to enjoy them when the hair is do bad and puffs out And g1 had character diversity too, not in body no but in race , nationality , entitchity , skintone, disablity yes they did The only reason they didnt have lgbt characters is because mattel forced sanders to take out any lgbt aspect he wanted to add-they only have it now in g3 because mattel realised they can profit off lgbt people even tho they keep supporting transphobes like jk rolling

@@Man-wolf- i didn’t say that g1 didn’t have character diversity but i feel like with even the current roster for g3 that it’s a good sign that it will surpass and that they’ve been able to add body diversity which is great and i hope to see it continue! And not all of the g3 dolls use polypropylene… plenty use Saran which is a nice fiber that doesn’t look frizzy or puff out. And don’t forget that G1 had glue seepage issues- the dolls were not without their flaws. Plus, and this is a personal thing, g1 dolls always feel so fragile and delicate to me. I’m always worried that I’m going to break a hand if I’m changing an outfit piece which is not an issue i have with g3. Again- neither generation are without flaw, that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is that G1 stans act like the dolls were perfect and impossible to improve upon with unbeatable fashions when like… not true there were some duds. G3 has some duds too but G1 was not always pure perfection either lol

@chrrycola2717 1. I’m not a man but that’s fine, you wouldn’t know that- we don’t know each other. 2. I was a child when Monster High launched and have a younger sister who i “played dolls” with. So even though i didn’t, at that age, have many dolls that belong to me specifically- i still grew up with these dolls and many others in my house, and i did also play with them. I dont need to defend or explain myself to you (or anyone)- everyone is allowed to have an opinion as long as they express it respectfully which i certainly try to do. My tl;dr opinion on monster high dolls: g1 was great, had a shocking and exciting aesthetic but not every doll was perfect and they had flaws. g2 was a disappointment overall but had a couple of cute moments that were few and far between. g3 is great reboot that introduces even more designs to diversify representation, with some designs not being the favored by all and flaws with hair fiber on around half of the first years dolls.

6:30 I was at Target, and I bought Fantastic Fashion Jade, when a mother and daughter were freaking out that Felicia was on the shelf and the Mom was like, "We're buying ALL OF THEM." which was like 3-5 dolls, at the time.

Ursula should have been at #20, because even if they had to make her more of an action figure, Mattel sure AF knows how to make better & higher quality action figure than THAT. They cheaped out in every way from design to materials.

Regarding the Claudia Schiffer doll we waited almost 2 years.. *adjusts tinfoil hat* ... they produced them and knew they were subpar. But instead of trashing them Mattel waited for the Movie hype and buzz and released them knowing scapers and collectors would still buy it. Some certificates state 1000 some 5000 dolls made there definitley went something fishy down.

The Claudia Schiffor doll should have been dressed in a 90s chanel or versace inspired outfit! That would have been bad ass!

The Claudia Schiffer doll was so disappointing. The dress looks like it is from Temu-cute but not collector level.

….I bought the ILY holiday pack lol… I do think the price point should have been lower since it’s a 3 pack and the theming is less detailed, but they’re adorable and I love them I bet the issue with the pixlings is the excessive “blind-ish” packaging. I would buy one if they didn’t come with a big dumb plastic bottle.

I bought the holiday pack at a significant sale price (if only I’d had the patience to wait for clearance!) and agree. But I really like the ILY dolls and was excited to get these new ones.

The worst part about the chucky and tiffany doll was the fact we only got to look at them an hour before they were released. And as a really big chucky fan, they didn't really impress me, i just thought they looked like dolls cosplaying as them

I’d assume the MH Skulltimate secrets line is because of the hair. I forgot about half these dolls honestly 😅 The skullector dolls are a nightmare to get, I’ve only been lucky with HC Clawdeen, Dracula, and NBC Jack and Sally thanks to my hubby. I do want to get that 2 pack of Cleo and Deuce (only for Deuce) but I can see why people don’t like her dress. I’m curious about the favorites list! Can’t wait for that video!

@Man-wolf- That makes sense since they use the 80s Barbie Logo. They would have to do another face mold for Ken. 80s Ken's sucked. Also, way too many blond Ken's and Barbie6s. I would have gone with the Extra Fly Doll face mold for the Ken.

I received SS Series 2 Draculaura and Frankie for my birthday and while they look very cool, the quality is lacking for that price. I did not grab any series 1 SS, but these felt so cheap. The fabric, the amount effort needed to even get to the feeble amount of outfit pieces, and their heads were SOFT...I squeezed my Draculaura's head trying to get her headband on and got jump scared by her head squishing. Needless to say while they were a nice surprise, I am eternally grateful I did not have to pay for them.

I have most of SS1 and the clothing is decent quality, the poly hair is the worst complaint I have about them. I have SS3 Ghoulia and she’s …cheap but not bad, if that makes sense. I haven’t bought any Fearidescent yet because I don’t like any of them except Cleo and think they all look ultra cheap.

Ok so a lot of people who don’t like the blind box element of the Magic Mixie Pixies, actually don’t know that you can tell who you’re getting by the colored gem on the bottle. So if there’s all teal ones you just need one as it’s all the teal doll. Also glad you brought up Felicia. I was so happy when I found out she was part of wave three as I’m not spending my monthly disability check on a naked doll. Oh and I’ve heard of many people getting scammed by resellers of the og one. Like taking the person’s money and dipping then putting up a new listing. No thank you. Not dealing with that bs.

The fearidescent MH spot is deserved. The entire line with disgusting poly hair and a lot of the times they were legit balding too.

Barbie movie doll....uggghhh...I just got western barbie ( only one i wanted ) finally in early December, cause I was lucky that Target online restocked for a minute at $50 & someone told me. Right after, they were out of stock again. You couldn't get these unless you bought from 3rd party at $150...and you still can't. Bunch of BS. They were supposed to be in Target stores...never were.

There was plenty at Target before the movie came out. Also, you got to remember that Target is that they take online orders from the actual store. I have seen carts in the back of multiple dolls waiting to be shipped.

Before 2015 Disney Store 17" LE dolls were actually $99.99, and really nice quality. Then they upped the price when Sleeping Beauty came and the quality went goodbye.

i like the feardescent dolls but i think people didnt like them because their hair is honestly really bad and a lot of the clothes feel bad but idk i really like their designs and color pallettes so if you can get past the feeling of the clothes and take sometime to wash and style their hair theyre fine.

Style Bae actually are very fun to play with.They are half price now and I bought 2. Kids love them a lot. Wish I could buy them all but only 2 styles are available. Really like the one with curly hair but can't find her in Ireland. Pity they won't continue probably...

Am a little surprised that the ILY Christmas set is on this list. I love all of the dolls in the set, nice clothes (but the green shoes they keep falling off) and accessories. My GUESS as to why this set is on the list is because, the boy doll is identical to the Inspired by Aladdin doll. If the x-mas boy doll had very different colour hair and eyes, then I think people would be ok with them.

Barbie the movie dolls, in Canada Gloria and the President were only available at Indigo Chapters Book store and were priced at $86.99 + 12% tax. which is $97.43 cad. and the Pink dress Margot and Beach Ken were $35.99 at Walmart plus taxes, Taxes! which makes it $40.31 CAD, I which Canada wasn't so fucking costly to buy the dolls I want in my collection.

I'll probably still get Sunny, Jade and Bella! I wish they hand't chosen to focus mainly on the white characters for the rebrand and I think that's my main complaint. Kids and collectors deserve better in 2024 and we've been over this with MGA in 2020? Idk...I have problems with Mattel's quality and MGA's "diversity".

In the U.K. the Barbie movie dolls the basic one were £40 which is about $50 ridiculous

I can for $75 their's not much there. This year's fashionistas were good. The Down Syndrome one is so nice, and so is the Shani one. I get them for half off or more, so I don't mind the lack of quality. These are for kids, not collectors. I never thought growing up I would ever see a Down Syndrome Barbie. Back in my day, the diversity was lacking.
