Loving the emphasis on hanging out with the other Hermits this season. All the different interactions are so much fun to watch. 🎣 I love the addition of the greenhouse/garden. It's so pretty and functional! A suggestion for something small you could add next time is to bone-meal the bottom of the bridge pond and add in seagrass, maybe a fish or two. I know frogs are an eventual plan as well but it'd add movement and life to the area with a fairly easy change.

Etho, I don't think I'll ever get bored watching you explain your building process. You seem more vibrant this season, in a similar way to the fun you seem to have on the life series. I don't know if it's RL things that are going better or the way the hermits are all so close this season but despite how early in the season it is, you are shining. I hope you are having as much fun creating as we are watching.

I rewatched some of his older videos, like the start of his solo LP series, and the difference is insane. He's opened up a whole lot since then and even like from the middle of his solo LP series too. But you can still tell it's him one way or the other.

I love how Etho is still building 100% in Etho style, he's basically just swapped interior for exterior for now - the area that seems like it'll be the interior of the building is redstone circuitry space and so far all the access areas are in the area "surrounding" the base building itself. The inverse of his usual. No doubt there will at some point be something inside beyond the mechanics but I'm loving the process, it's so fascinating this way around :D

The part starting at 4:25 where they are launching each other is awesome. Its great to have them all laughing at such a simple part of the game

It immediately had me wondering if other Hermits are going to prank him by just leaving one or more of his farms running while he's away, so he gets to hear the noise when he comes back 😆

I think the ring shape of the house lends itself well to the idea of a small courtyard in the center. It would fit well with the natural, eastern, vibe of the house. Loved the episode Etho, thank you so much!

Etho's building style is similar to that of a discovery writer. Someone who "discovers" the story as they write it. So, if Etho is "discovering his build as he makes it, does that make him a discovery builder?

If I recall correctly, his father was terminally ill for most of, if not all of last season. He was dealing with all of the emotions that come with that, while also dealing with a lot of the legal/financial stuff that needed to be sorted out.

Hey Etho! I just want to say I really like seeing things like the small super-smelter, multi-purpose bone meal and simple crop automations. Plenty of youtubers have super-mega-maximum efficency versions of these things, but from these episodes I'm actually learning farms that I'll be able to copy myself. Hearing you emphasise the importance of getting gunpowder early and having a beacon for haste - It's cool to get an idea of how a "pro" minecrafter plays the game from the beginning.

Loving that this building style is basically just a continuation of Modded Season 2. Feeling so inspired to make Japanesque world

If you plan to make a lava farm, you can combine it with the hot springs idea! You could have like a geothermal vent kinda vibe below ground, and a hot springs above ground!

When he said that they built a farm on MindCrack a 100 years ago, i felt that.

Today I learned that a water source does not need to be contiguous with the farmland it's watering. Somehow I'd had the idea that it worked as if the water was seeping block to block. The more you know! I've said it before, but I really think that Etho's color sense is second only to Pearl's among all the Hermits. This season's base is shaping up to be his most gorgeous one yet.

etho in his natural habitat: a greenhouse I think this is one of your best episodes ive seen, nothing super special happened but you made time for a little bit of everything and explained a lot of your thought process behind your choices. Your base this season is beautiful and the details you added really made it come alive

The cauldron resting on the edge of the trapdoor works really well, makes it seem like you can easily swing it either out to the lake to fill it up or in to the garden to empty it out.

I love ethos editing so much, his random cutaways are the best. The part with the witch heads and pufferfish killed me

I love how etho its known for his technical stuff, but in reallity he is one of the best minecraft builders, i swear, every time i see an etho build i think man, why cant i build like that

As someone who used to only watch a lot of Grian and Mumbo, it's been really fun to see how Etho builds. I like the patchwork style and its really cool!

the bit with iskall was so funny, his pause and stare every time etho mentioned food was gold 😂

I absolutely love the patchwork style building! Maybe it’s nostalgia clouding my judgement, but it really reminds me of the early days in the man-cave. The notable difference however is that path and buildings around are built instead of being predetermined by a cave system. I think this dramatically increases the difficulty of building, but to me it has paid off with a beautifully balanced and naturally structured build that feels like it can expand comfortably. I’m so excited to see where it goes, and to see etho further define his style.

Just wanna say, I absolutely love hearing you talk about how you build, what choices you make, and why you make them

okay the whole build is amazing so far BUT those hidden water spots in the garden?????? AMAZING. JAW DROPPED. something so simple and obvious but I never could've thought of. amazing work my man.

This is my first time watching hermitcraft and, wow, they’ve really got something special here. So cool seeing everyone’s different builds and the interactions are so funny/wholesome. This really does feel like peak minecraft

The hanging signs on the bridge are quite nice. Creative use for sure.

Nothing is better than when etho says "just to finish up at the end here" or some variation and you check the run time and it has 10+ minutes left

Hey, Etho! Once you have enough wax, you should wax all the signs around the base so that they can’t be interacted with. Might prevent some accidental right-clicks and text entry!

I can never stop myself from coming back to watching Etho. Many things have changed overtime, but those vibes I got from watching my first episode of his let's play 11 years ago watching the creation of Wilson to the current content. Yet while many things have changed in that time one thing that never changes would be how enjoyable and great it feels to watch Ethos content. It's honestly had a rather positive impact on my life and I'm glad Etho is the same as ever, enjoyable, entertaining, and just as comfortable to watch as ever!

Wandering through Etho's base is going to bring the joy of being a kid flipping through a pop-up book with all the hidden things that move or function

The laughing during the fishing bit was contagious 😂 love seeing y’all laughing it up so sincerely Edit: nah, the entire episode is a gold mine. I love all the interactions between you and the other hermits!

This new base might be my new favourite of Etho's builds. Perfect mix of form and function. I think this could be the best season of hermitcraft - love how people aren't rushing the endgame and I really like that people are staying close together

Too much burnout recently. People are learning to enjoy little things again. It's felt pretty wholesome to watch actually :D

I love seeing multiple hermits doing Japanese themes this season, makes the whole server feel connected. Maybe the bridge over the pond could connect to a sort of zen garden? The mangrove wood you've already used in your base would serve as a good material to build a torii gate, with warped wood on top.

More than 30 minutes is a blessing. I know it’s a lot of work, but we appreciate the longer videos when you give them to us.

That simple bridge change helped so much. Little details like using the hanging signs is genius! Great video Etho, I look forward to the next.

Etho + Gem or Etho + Bdubs. I love his dynamic with them

I love how balanced this episode is, from hanging out with hermits to farm and base building. It flows so nicely! Also Etho's base is gorgeous!

Since Hermitcraft isn’t 100% vanilla, you can add custom audio files to music disc/noteblocks through a data pack or resource pack. I think it would be interesting to create a skulker network that plays music based on where your character is located in your base. Different areas can have their own music, similar to how Zelda has different music for regions, dungeons, bosses, etc.

Your building style is so unorthodox and unique and eye-catching, it's so pretty. I love how hard it is to draw the line between interior and exterior when looking at the base

I love the greenhouse/garden, and sneaky hidden water (that's really smart!), and cauldron on chains. It's all looking very cool and very Etho-like.

i havent watched much of etho before but the way he builds is just absolutely amazing

Watching etho build that little garden area is like the platonic ideal of Minecraft play

I like the admission of the super smelter situation. Sometimes you just gotta build the little one - you can always still build the big one later, but if you spend you're whole time waiting for the Perfect Opportunity, you'll miss out on the decent ones along the way. And smelting has to happen all the while anyhow.

"For goodness sake's Etho, have you not eaten today?"

Even if this video was 2 hours of Etho building I'd watch it all

I really liked the style of this video and the variety of content you had. You had the quality montage of interactions with other hermits, showing off your gunpowder farm, and general updates. Then you actually brought us into your building process while working on the bridge, then you built off camera and explained your process of the other additions to your build. I like how you showed us some of the process of building and how you built off camera. It was a great video! Glad you enjoyed making it

For the Onsen/Hot Spring: How about making your Lava farm themed like an Onsen/Hot Spring and tie it in with the lava feeding/going towards the Blacksmith.

Add lanterns to the underside of the lily pads to light up the pond more! So atheistic and practical while being pretty!

that fishing lilypad interaction seemed like a fun lil mini-game where u want to get to the other side, maybe fishing something negative would force u to back up one lilypad

I suggest swapping the hanging signs under the overhang with some brighter more colorful wood. Cherry and birch could indicate those traditional cloths with quotes written on it

This is one of my favorite bases of yours by far. The interior base was really nice too!

I love the little thought processes behind each design decision. The base is beautiful AND functional and I adore all the easter eggs like the hidden water sources (I didn't even know that water sources didn't have to be directly connected to the garden!). This is so cool, Etho, thank you for all the cool tips and ideas.

Heres a minigame idea centred around 'fishing'. Every hermits starts behind a starting line and they have to cross the river in a straight line by jumping onto lily pads. And these pads must be obtained by fishing only. ❤

it just melts my heart etho, what ever you build, your cozy, close together, pleasing color pallet is remarkable, each episode gets me more excited to see what comes next.

Etho somehow seems to have a completely unique dynamic with every fellow Hermit he interacts with, and I'm living for every single one

i think foliage and garden stuff is DEFINITELY etho's strong suit. like, his builds are already so good, but plants are where he just takes it to the next level! He deserves more recognition - he's not just redstone man anymore!

Etho normally: builds all interior Etho in HC S10: builds all exterior

The greenhouse is so beautiful! So compact yet full of life. So pleasing to the eye, especially in these gloomy winter months :] A lot of Hermits excel at making megabases and terrafirming entire bases, but you are great at smaller scale stuff. You always build with the player in mind, how they walk through the base, how they interact with stuff. It would have been a beautiful decorative build, but you also manage to sneak so many little automations and quality of life upgrades, it's great! Can't wait to see more from this base and your shenanigans with other Hermits.

I am absolutely cracking up at everyone's heads following Grian after he bounces and then dies. The way Etho reacts too just gets me giggling.

Etho, I'd say as long as you're having fun and throwing it on yt that's a successful episode. As a viewer just listening to all the things you wanted to have done EVERY episode was a little overwhelming. Don't get caught in the rat race, we'll love everything you post. Also, some sunflowers for ur greenhouse :)

I never really... understood, why everyone was so obsessed with Etho, but just seeing the way he builds? that organic buildup, like a living structure growing itself from the inside out? I am in awe. I understand now. this will alter my brain chemistry for the better.

A nice Rock Garden would fit the theme, cactus, little bushes with the differnet rocks textures.

I love the dinamick between Gem and Etho, they are like big brother and little sister mock each other

Don't worry too much about finishing the whole build in 1 episode. I like the slow build with a more detailed guide through as you do it. Looking amazing!

There are so many ideas in this home build that I would never think of, like the water bucket with pulley. I love all of it, the bridge, the greenhouse, even the creeper farm is pretty.

Etho has become my new favourite hermit followed closely by Bdubs, doc and "the main characters" grian mumbo and scar

One of my favorite things is looking into Etho's building logic and process, love the abstraction of block purposes and different approaches, still my favorite builder in the mc community

love love love the interactions and the base aesthetic, the green house feels so real and alive

its feels so refreshing to have deep interactions with other hermits like Docm

seeing you grab the lily pads made me think of a minigame a 10-20 block distance of water where everyone fishes until someone ets from 1 end to the other and the winner gets all the loot from the fishing

A courtyard base is perfect for Etho I’m so excited to see how this looks at the end :)

Etho's build style is still so reminiscient of his cave base style. Paths that wind around different places with overhangs and windows to view other areas. Top Tier Etho
