Etho Plays Minecraft - Episode 586: Chaos To Order

Ойындар

We return from a 3 month break to take on the colossal task of finishing up the Endless Storage Room. Today we work out the shulker loaders, storage minecart controls, water streams, item locations, and then do a massive clean up around the world to fill the system up with items.

Etho, I know this will inevitably get buried under the mountains of other comments of praise, but I just wanted to take the time to say thank you. I've watched your channel consistently since at least the beginning of middle school, and now I've graduated college. You’ve been the single most consistent aspect of my life, and the last remnant of the good ‘ol days of KZread that I cherish so much. Its hard to believe that its been over 10 years of Etho, it feels like just yesterday when you were building Wilson, starting up a modded series, tasting eye candy on TerraFirmaCraft and hanging out on Mindcrack. Your uploads are always something I look forward to. Even as life gets exponentially more complicated, I will always enjoy sitting down to watch some Etho just like old times.

Hey Etho!! I realize that there's another comment similar to this one but I too wanted to thank you for being here for the last 11 years of my life! I can't remember if it was first grade or second but my first video of yours that I remember clearly was your Dwarves vs. Zombies series. From that day on, you've been a part of my life as I continued to grow older and older. You've been there for me - unknowingly and just for like many others - as I changed schools, houses, made and lost friends, fell in love with hobbies and people, and graduated! Just simply seeing your videos appear on my page randomly - especially your Let's Plays - brings me unending nostalgia that makes me want to rewatch the entire series again. Your videos were one of the biggest reasons I could convince my parents to get Minecraft in 3rd grade, your redstone being a reason for me to attempt coding and mechanics! Day after day, depressive episode or the greatest of the week, I looked forward to seeing your videos! From the series in another planet I can't remember the name of, to Let's Plays, to HermitCrafts, Terraria, the one MindCrack "building" Guude's new house, and especially this one specific video: Episode 472! I spent forever looking for it, but it was the cinematic one with "Monody" from TheFatRat! This one video exposed me to a music genre that I not only wanted to listen to, but also I wanted to play. The days of sitting on my mom's phone, my iPad, and watching through all your videos are all over, yet the more I watch you, the more I feel like those days are coming back. I can't believe I'm graduating in literally a week and you've practically been part of every single year I've been in school. Again, I want to thank you Etho, for being one of my greatest influences!!

Digging through 10 years of chests, seeing Etho fall for his own trolls... I fell off of minecraft content for probably several years, aside from an occasional check-in with Etho, but the recent seasons of HermitCraft and a renewed, sustained interest in this world have led to some of the best YT videos i've seen recently, and after 12-ish years, i think Etho and minecraft have added some wonderful moments of peace in my life.

I and most long time viewers can appreciate the sorting project simply for the fact that it will make your life easier and help you modernize the series. I loved watching you visit old projects and do house keeping. Thank you for all of your videos. Whenever you upload I know my day will have a happy ending

I love projects like this even if it feels repetitive. Just seeing the incremental progress on something so massive episode to episode is just so satisfying. I think deep down that really why most people watch Minecraft lets plays. There's just something deeply satisfying about seeming something so huge come together over time.

I remember on e of the first times Etho put his world up for a download. I was in highschool on a laptop I got for Christmas and I was playing on my own world with my brothers. We downloaded Ethos LP world and our computers were not having it. Anyways, I'm knocking on the door to my 30's now and I haven't missed an episode. Thank you for the MANY years of entertainment and memories you've provided.

The amount of nostalgia I had in this episode is crazy, Its always amazing to go to different places in a old minecraft worlds and go through the chests, it gives the place life and gives a bit of lore, it gives the story of how a player interacted with the place and is like a window to the past of not only the player but of how minecraft evolved as a game, like you building an area with a new block new best block mentality gives a storyline of how the different blocks were released and how valuble they were in the past, not a lot of plople has a chest full of pertified slab, mending and infinity bows, infinite trading villagers stuff like that makes minercaft personal to the player. Thank you for the nostalgia Etho

Hey Etho, I’ve been watching your videos for about ten years, and have never commented. This time though, I watched the video all the way through probably 4 or 5 times this week and felt it was finally time. We all admire your commitment to this series and for inspiring others. Your creative process and ability to make changes while still keeping true to your core is deeply moving to your audience… and to me personally. There are thousands of comments like this one. Your videos have been a much needed reprieve over the years. I’m starting a tattoo apprenticeship on Saturday, my career endeavour is to be half as committed and creative as you have been with your art. This is my favourite episode of the entire series so far. Not because of Nostalgia- I’m not sad things aren’t how they were… I’m elated and excited to see where things are going. Sincerely, Thank you.

Honestly, it was like a mini world-tour as you went through and cleaned up your old storage rooms. Your last world tour was 3 years ago, I have a feeling that episode 600 is going to be awesome, not just to revisit the old stuff but just to hear your thoughts and feelings on how much you've evolved over time and what has changed throughout the years.

And I'm glad as much as you've grown - you've still remained "YOU" if that makes any sense. Time does move in the blink of an eye the older I get. It was fun watching you go through your world chasing down chests - it was like re-visiting all of your old work and brought a lot of good memories back :)

This episode was somehow more nostalgic than the world tours. It's like the world tours are the "public facing" episodes where you can show off the bigger picture to new people, but this episode had a lot of little secrets that were only perhaps a segment of an episode long ago, like rare/no longer available items.

Watching Etho collect all the scattered chests in the world was like watching my life flash before my eyes lol. It's crazy just how long we've been watching this series! Also, though I could be biased as I have enjoyed all your vanilla SMP series, I think focusing on Hermitcraft was a very good idea. It's made a huge difference this season for you to be so present on the server. I'm used to long waits for the singleplayer series. To me, it's about the quality, not the quantity. Of course, I hope this series will continue ad infinitum, but taking time away to be part of the Hermitcraft server during it's limited run is important, and the lets play will still be here to return to no matter when you have time to return to it.

I enjoy seeing the different approaches for the different styles. On HC, Etho simplified his storage so that it's super light on redstone. On the LP, insane unliminited minefield of redstone storage system of doom. It's very satisfying to see Etho clean up his hoards. They weren't hurting anything, other than performance, but clearing away the insanity can be fun. I do miss episode frequency, as I'm sure many do. But I'm much happier to wait, knowing that creators are having more fun and/or enjoying the content they're creating more. Balance is important. So many creators cranked out so much content as quick as they could for a long time. Many of them look back at it now with disdain, they don't like the quality and so on. I think that clearly taints any fun they may have had making that content. So I'm happy for the creators to do better for themselves. Enjoying the process more now, and later.

It's so cool to see this massive project become operational, and i loved the trip down memory lane as you went around your world to collect all the items. As someone who is very nosy, getting to look through all the random chests that would normally get ignored in videos was actually really satisfying lol, and I loved that you got trolled by your past self. The novelty of season 10 of Hermitcraft and having you fully onboard with it has been exciting but I was just feeling like the LP had been gone for far too long. Glad to have it back, even putting aside the single player aspects of it, it's nice to be in a world steeped with history, and this episode really exemplified that with your consideration of what chests were okay to break.

Hey Etho, Thank you for all the laughs over the years. It's been an awesome time. Man, I've really grown up and things have changed, I'm 25 now. I have a friend back in middle school here in Idaho, who first introduced me to the world of Minecraft, and He also introduced me to your videos. He died in a tragic motor accident almost a year ago, He loved farming, farming simulator, minecraft, and his family. We used to talk about watching your videos when were kids, I say kids, but I mean about 14 or 15. So yeah, we were kids I guess. At that time in my life I was probably around for the early days of this current world, but I went back and watched the old ones to be caught up. I'm watching the old ones again. The best part about your videos is the growth and the progress you have made. You're one of the funniest people on here. And once you warmed up and started joking around you became even more enduring and funny. That's why my friend introduced me to you, well and your legendary red stone skills. I just wanted to say thank you, I look forward to your videos. Your lootin and scootin and the "your mom jokes". Thank you for all these years of content. One of your many viewers, Isaac

This has to be one of the best episodes for me. I’ve spent years and years (full decade?) perfecting storage grouping and organizing with Excel, adding with each new update. To see you go through and consolidate your storage: I’ve done that (not to your scale). I’d forgotten so many of those past projects you’d done. That mini-tour it resulted in was also great for a return to the series.
