    I think the first TFL video I watched was a Subaru getting stuck in a snowstorm. I remember Andre just yelling stuff in Russian, thinking it was kinda weird but funny. I now know it was just an act, and glad Andre has become a staple of the TFL team.

    That’s fancy. And here I am just sleeping on the floor in the back seat of my crew cab F-150 next to my refrigerator and all in one battery system I charge from the inverter when running or a folding solar panel otherwise. I get a little better MPG with the 2.7L EcoBoost.

    Anas saleh thirty K would buy a lot of Mustang. With two or more people this does seem like a good high end option though, so, yes, if I was going to get a truck camper this or something similar would be at the top of my list. However, I’d need a different truck-my 2019 2.7L crew cab short bed F-150 (I bought doing research on TFL, Ford) is too soft for a camper-more of a tippy car feel.

    Chevrolet is too cheap with standard and available equipment on the Trail Boss.....no electric locker in the rear differential...no option to have an electric locker in the front differential.....no winch....Class 2 (2500) not available with the Trail Boss...and no option for the new 6.6L engine. To be fair, Ford does not offer an electric locker in the front differential either...not even in the new Tremor Package...but they should. It appears that Dodge and Jeep are the only manufacturer's that offer what many consumers want direct from the factory.....and that is electric lockers in both the front and rear differentials. Even with the multiple speed automatic transmissions...all the companies should offer more choice in gear ratios.....Ford should offer 4.10:1 and Dodge should offer 4.30:1.

    It’s interesting that you guys went with the gas engine. If I ever were to get a HD gas truck for off-roading it would have to be a PW, but this helps me decide whether to spend an extra $10k on a diesel or not just to get 5mpg more for long distance trips. I don’t tow much and when I do it’s not even close to 10,000 lbs so diesel isn’t necessary for me.

  • @15Jeep

    @15Jeep

    4 жыл бұрын

    The Power Wagon with 6.4L would be a good choice for off-road with limited and infrequent towing needs. The Ford Tremor with 7.3L is still a good choice...a bit stronger on the towing and a bit less with off-road capability...but that can be rectified with a Carli suspension and the Fox 2.0 or King 2.5 shocks. You might consider air bags to supplement the coil springs on the rear suspension of the Power Wagon.....to hold payload and or towing weight when needed.

    I have watched your segment on love/hate 2020 Super Duty. Your "hates" could have been alleviated a little by picking a truck that optioned differently. You should not have chosen a 3.55 gear set, but rather gone with the 4:30. That would have helped tremendously. Just one example of a few that a different choice would have made a difference.

  • @15Jeep

    Like the concept of the Four Wheel camper.....and it is awesome! However, the cost is outrageous.....even though it is unique. Compare to a nice travel trailer or 5th wheel.....much larger...way more materials and substantially more labor time to build, but the cost does not reflect both of those factors when comparing to the cost of the Four Wheel camper. On the other hand.....IF the Four Wheel camper was made of a two part composite body similar to the Earthroamer.....the cost would be justifiable.

    @@AK_Ray that's fair. And no I'm mostly on flatland but those two road trips where to the hill country of Texas for whatever that matters. I really like the 7.3 and almost got one even test drove. GREAT TRUCK! But Im inheritantly a ram man and just didn't feel as comfortable in the Ford plus I really like the 8 spd zf transmission and the 6.4 is great! Speaking of which.. you made a good point.. I think they have 3.55 rear end on their truck.

    @@qwizziethakid You are not sharing all of the necessary facts for a legitimate comparison. Please provide some additional information regarding your Dodge truck. 1. Is it a Class 1 (1500), Class 2 (2500) or Class 3 (3500) truck? 2. What gear ratios are in the front and rear differentials? 3. What brand and size of tire? The brand is important because the actual height of a tire can vary somewhat between the different tire manufacturer's on the same stated size. The website -----> tiresize.com is a great go to website for comparing tire sizes, obtain the actual height and width of tires, gear ratio calculator, etc.
