I think it'd be fine with 35"-38" tires and no lift. Maybe 1" bodylift and/or some tube fenders if you're getting rub, but a stock Rubicon should fit 35s. 37" is allegedly the biggest that fits the spare location...aired down. Is it just me, or would an Unlimited with a roof rack be a better overlanding base than a Gladiator? A high-clearance skid would be a priority, but keep the COG low. Having to reprogram a computer to activate the aux switches is overcomplicated BS, IMO. The bed drawer is sweet. I could haul 4x8 sheets, dirtbikes, a quad, etc. while still having lockable weather-resistant storage. I liked that since I saw the Gladiator at the autoshow.

I don't get the fascination with LED lights on a cage. On a motorcycle with low electrical output, sure, if you're trying to power heated garments and other accessories. Swapping an incandescent is generally simple and easy. If you have a problem with an LED though, you probably have to get it through a dealer and swap the whole unit. LEDs also tend not to melt snow and ice as well as incandescents. If people can't see with low-beam halogens, maybe they should figure out how their high-beams work...or get their eyes or aim checked.

@@terrencejones9817 Yes aluminum corrodes, but it doesn't corrode the same way as steel. It corrodes more like copper. When aluminum corrodes it just turns into a white powder that somewhat protects the surface the way the green corrosion of copper does. Of course this will vary somewhat with the type of aluminum and I don't know what type Jeep used. However, I doubt they selected a type of aluminum that corrodes badly. With all of that said though, if I was installing the snorkel myself I probably would have taken a primer pen, then a paint pen to the cuts. Just time the cuts and using the paint pens so that you can do other steps while the paint is drying.

Don Leamon have you ever noticed that Baja trucks have an intake that’s up either within the cab or just behind it? That’s because a snorkel would get ripped off and at really high speeds it’s less aerodynamic but they still drive in high dust conditions Tires kick up tons of dust, when the wind is blowing it’s really dusty (I’m about 30 miles inland from San Diego and my view is open to the ocean so the wind hovers at 10 mph and gusts up to 50-60 mph during bad Santa Anas) and I’m not the only one that lives down the road so sometimes I’m driving in the dust behind a neighbor. Every Jeep I’ve had has had a snorkel and my air filters are substantially cleaner than my girlfriends (she’s had a Subaru and now has a Jeep renegade which is getting swapped for a model Y soon) I’ll be moving from my F150 to a diesel gladiator and as soon as a snorkel is available I’ll be adding one

Great idea/concept for a video series with the Jeep Gladiator and the F-250 driving across country off road. Love the Four wheel camper on the Ford, hope you get something comparable on the Gladiator, not just a roof top tent. Consider the new pop top shell from Four wheel campers.

Looks amazing. The build wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be still ain't cheap though. I'd love to do a build like that to my pro4x. Looking forward to seeing those trucks go head to head the ford might be more comfortable but the jeep will fit in more places.

Johnson has a great service department, sales not so much. As a returning customer they lowballed me on a trade in otherwise I’d be driving a red rubicon gladiator. Pollard, and Autonation both gave me a reasonable value and I ended up buying from Pollard. I was very disappointed with Johnson. I’ll use them for service though.

As a former auto tech, I truly believe Torx fasteners are one of the worst kind of head designs for anything subject to more than 10 lb-ft of torque. They strip out too easily, and as shown in this video, jam up with crud preventing the tool from making full contact (yes, I know the hood bolts are painted, but my point still stands). Manufacturers should stick to hex-head fasteners. But the build on this Jeep is cool!
