    When I was calculating my one month fund it was a large number and I started to spiral lol. I decided to break it down by bill or expense first. So this way it was like okay I have one month of electricity, one month of water, etc. Before I knew it I had a full month emergency fund.

    You’re not lying about the engine repair cost. I had to get my engine replaced and it would had cost me $6300 but I had a warranty on the engine.

    Really great video. The only thing I would add for necessities would be groceries and gas (for the car). ❤

    Like you said life is going to happen; it’s not if but when. Thank you for this video! I’ve been working an extra job to try and help tackle some debt + ER fund and this just helps me feel good about taking these steps while also knowing it’s a continuous journey.

    Do you recommend having additional sinking funds outside of your emergency fund even if you have kinda padded your EF for liabilities?

    I have just started my emergency fund. I was struggling with it for like 2 yrs because al got something where had to spend it. I decided to start it in a 32 day notice an literally start with like R5. That way I am no5 stressing about it and I can't access it so easily. It's not the only savings I have now just in case I do have an emergency but now I am at least accumulating something

    A lot of people tell me why want you start driving your car and you know what I tell them? Why when I don't even have an emergency fund because an emergency fund is not $1,000 dollars anymore. When emergency fund was $1,000 that was way back in the 90s now this is 2024 an emergency fund now is $3,500. Why should I invest in car insurance when I haven't even invested in myself first. I also need to save for job loss Incase I loose my job there's a lot of savings I need to start saving for before I make another bill for me. I also need to build up my savings account too.

    I'm not sure if you're religious (I think you've mentioned God a few times), but how do you navigate your faith in God and finding "security" in being financially stable? How do you avoid making money your idol?

  • @DyanaMariie

    @DyanaMariie

    Good question, what has helped me was seeing money as a tool. Nothing more nothing less. It is something I need to build a life that I feel aligns with my self-worth. I’m intentional about not doing something that doesn’t align with my values simply because of money. That includes jobs, videos, brand deals etc. When you set aside your morals and values for the sake of money that’s when the idolization begins. Keep these things at the forefront always. Hope this helps!❤
