Man, you stole it. I said 30k was my guess. Hagarty number 2 which this car is shows a price of over 40k. People are missing the point with comments why pay this much for car that gets beat by Camry. Well, if you grew up in the 80's The IROCZ was bad ass car and no Camary or Toyota can close to the performance or looks back in the day. And is this not the reason we buy these cars. I am 53 years old but when i get behind my Irocz it takes me back to 16 again.

Well, I said over 20K, so I was in the ballpark. I have no idea what these are truly worth, as I haven't priced them in some time. Its crazy to me that they are basically the same price as the 4th gen F-bodies.

No not as long as someone is it stands now are willing to pay way to much for them. I think they will settle after the fan fair @12k
If your purchase was purely an investment it matters what you paid but if you bought it because it's a car you really wanted then don't worry about it, just enjoy it. The value will go up either way. If it's something I really wanted and was hard to find, I wouldn't mind paying a little more if I could afford to. Things are worth what people are willing to pay. Life is short, make the most of it
That is rare, 1990 was a short production year. The color combo is absolutely perfect and pretty rare with red decals. Great iroc example
Money can't buy you happiness, but it could get you an awesome Iroc like you have. Looking forward for more videos, hope you'll make content on maintenance and personal mods you do to the car to make it truly yours. -Newly subbed Norwegian fellow Iroc owner (1987 Maroon Lb9 Hardtop, 5-speed G92 9-bolt 3:45 rear rocking Trans Am GTA wheels)
I purchased my 1985 iroc z28 camaro for $3,500back in 1995. I've still got mine and cherish it!!😡🚘
You need new valve guides seals. That’s why you get that puff of smoke on start up. My low mile 89 IROC had the same issue. Easy fix, paid a mechanic $250 parts and labor.

You’re car should appreciate in value over time if well kept and not driven too much. Originality and obviously condition is what brings the money in these cars. I paid $16,000 for my 13,000 mile all original car in 2015. In April 2022 I sold it to to a guy in Colorado for $43,000 with 16,000 miles on it. That was my dream car going back to the first blue iroc I saw in 1985 while cruising around my college town in my blue 1982 z28. I hated to sell but the offer was just too good to pass up. I’ve still got my black 85. In fact I took it out of storage this weekend and put about 100 miles on it. Enjoy your beautiful car, we only go around once.

I absolutely love the Blue, I love black in almost all other cars but there is something about the Camaro in blue, I don’t even like the Trans Ams in blue, but the IROC, the blue just suits it..

Nice. Having my insurance agent increase the agreed value on my 3rd Gen. Market value definitely justifies the cost of a good paint correction.

Someone once told me you can't polish a turd and then we have this guy who polished 2.
I think you got a great deal! That car is insanely clean and didn't show any wear. great buy!
Another comforting factor to think about is that you are making content out of it, and in time, it will actually pay for the car. I've made a bunch of content out of my 92 RS that I only paid 3K for a long time ago, and the money from the content has paid for the car many times over.
I can't believe they sold it for that. I thought you gave at least 30.k from what I've seen them go for, sweet deal & beautiful collection indeed 🚘✨️🔥🔥👍
I buy and sell Irocs myself (when I can actually find nice ones).....and the market for them has jumped so much just in the last two years, that I wish I still had some of the ones I sold just 3-4 years ago! Yours looks like a beautiful example, and is absolutely appreciating daily. It's literally better than having money in the bank. Save some cool cars for the rest of us! 😉
Beautiful car. I'm amazed that the red interior looks virtually new and is not faded.
I guessed 25k in the previous video. A lot of 80s “muscle cars “ are gaining in value

I believe that was what my guess also. Is there any awards for guessing? I want the zr1.
I love the Iroc! Now you need a fox body mustang to go with your collection.
Cool, I was waiting for this. I didn't know they would be so much, but it is a piece of GM history and probably will appreciate in value. A friend's uncle had one he lent to him and I remember how quick and fast they were. For the 80's anyway.
Great honest well laid out video, agreed with values and conditions of these cars, good luck.
Thanks for the memories. 80’s Forever.
This black version you got in this color combo makes me want this camaro and a matching monte carlo. gorgeous!
Love the IROC ! Wish more were made in manual.
My uncle had one of these when i was a kid it reminds me of the 80's such a great time beautiful car i love it!
Nice IROC. Brings back memories, cruised around in those when new.
I guessed $25k, prior to knowing this.

short & sweet Liked the undercarriage views. Also the re-garaging of the rides, would seem boring but was oddly fun to watch. Liked the anti-scrape boards when removing the Vette. Cool video.
Yes! I am restoring a 1977 and it takes a lot money and time 28k is fair value. Mine is not as nice as this one and I have invested 30 to 35k.
Beautiful stable you got there … I was close with my guess of 25k. Congrats again
NIIIIIIICE score on your gorgeous Iroc 👍🏻and as always I love your ZR1 😍
I have a video of my 88 350 TPI. Your vid showed up as a recommendation. Good deal!
I don’t know anything about the car investment market. But that is a stunning example of the 3rd gen. Takes me back. Enjoy!
Best iroc color combo IMHO great buy for sure 👍
Beautiful car! I have an 86 Z28 116K miles that was a 2 owner the 2nd owner only had it a few months the father passed and they had to sell its also unmolested but also wasnt garaged so it does need some tlc and recdently I was able to score a wrecked 99 Z28 with less than 21,000 miles that ill be swapping the guts into my 86
I had a 3rd-GEN 1990 I-ROC-Z Camaro with the 5.7 Liter T.P.I. Engine with only 245 H.P., which I purchased back in May of 1990. It came with the DELCO BOSE Sound System and it was a Burnt Red (not Tomato Red) Color with Black Interior. Yes, you are correct, T-Tops did not come with the 5.7 Liter I-ROC-Zs because of the Torque that the transmission created on the Body. However, it was still a great car, but, I did not like not having T-Tops with the 5.7 Liter T.P.I. Engine and I did not like the all Aluminum / Metal Body Panels (Hood, Doors, etc.). You have to worry about DENTS and eventual RUST with a car made of all Aluminum / Metal Body Panels. By the way, my I-ROC-Z's MSRP was $22,389.41 right off the showroom floor back then. Meanwhile, that is why I eventually graduated up to a 35th Anniversary 4th-GEN 2002 Camaro SS that is Dark Navy Blue Metallic with the T-Tops, has the 5.7 Liter LS-1 Engine with 345 H.P., and has a 6-Speed Manual Trans with the Hurst Shifter and the SLP Center Mounted Exhaust (C.M.E.) System. Its 22 Years Old and I still have it. Now, the only Aluminum / Metal Body Panels that I have to worry about DENTING and RUSTING are the two (2) Rear Quarter Panels. All other Body Panels are made of DENT-RESISTANT PLASTIC COMPOSITE or FIBERGLASS material. FYI, this particular Camaro SS's MSRP was $40,765.43, but, it will last longer without an all Aluminum / Metal Body.

Even the 2002 camaro market is heating up too. Now with the 5.7 liter not having T-Tops I guess that was just for 1990? I know the previous years they were all over the place. Funny how chevy/GM were only concerned about twisting the chassis the very last year lol.

1990 was the only year you couldn't get t-tops with the 5.7 IROC. They were available on the 87 - 89's.
The IROC is beautiful! Color is awesome congrats. But I still love the ZR-1 more....How about some updates on the Z...
Love the color combo..
I was thinking north of 30k, I feel you got a great deal. I've been looking for one of these for a couple years now and either out of my price range or bring it home in a trailer.
That is the most awesome car ever. I had 2 mustangs when I was in the army 11b (10th mountain) 30 years ago. One was a white lx 5.0 then traded it in on a ‘94 gt 5.0 red. I loved those cars and wish I still had em. I always had a soft spot on my heart for the IROC’s but never got one. I would take very good of that car cuz they are very rare now in that condition. Have fun with your ride!
Very nice! Nice collection also!
It looks so clean 🪥.. sweet!
You wouldn't have bought it if you didn't think it was worth it! I think you came out on top! That thing would look great going across a mecum auction block if you get tired of it!
Man that car is beautiful
Great collection.
Nice cars bro. Good luck with the Z
Nice ZR1 Now Those are Rare
Love the color combo
Nice Viper on Redwood Road! Almost as nice as that Iroc Z. Lucky dog!
Last year, I bought a Canadian 1989 IROC-Z, T-Top, LB9, 5 speed, completely original down to the tires... with 20kmiles, one owner!!! I have all documentation. Total cost with taxes was cn$30.7k about us$22k. I spent an extra us$5k to bring it up to speed including 100hrs of DIY tuning and basic maintenance. I made the decision to install subframe connectors to straighten the chassis, preventing the B pillar crack to get worse (driver side). Paint needed little work, just a one step correction. Since the paint was original, I did not go crazy on the correction. The interior is a 9.8/10! Since last year, I know the prices have gone up. Congratulations.

Thanks and thanks for sharing your experience from last year.
I have a '90 ZR-1 parked next to my IROC too!. The IROC is actually worth way more because it's only 1900 miles. I almost daily an '88 foxbody.
Im happy you got what you wanted brother... I wish I could get one. Maybe someday
I knew it. i said 25k and based on the condition and year. You did good. The 90 is very rare. Its only going to increase in value. Beautiful.
I have a bright blue 89 Iroc. . Put my money in improving the suspension and headers/exhaust system. This car now drives like a go-cart. Bought it 30 years ago from the original owner at 32k miles, now have 132k miles. The best 100k miles I’ve put on a sports car. .These cars are made to be driven on the esses on the open road. Enjoy the ride!
About 18 years ago, dealing in some classic cars myself, I predicted the IROC's will be equivalent to the 55-57 Chevy's today.
Also loved the irocs almost bought a black one in the 80s
Nice car! Looks almost showroom fresh!
My favorite Camaro !!! I wish I didn’t sell mine back in 2007

That purchase price is about what I expected, especially if it's sold on Hemmings, is a '90, in that condition. Good purchase! And no 3rd gen Camaro is worth $77K! Not even a 1LE. BTW, nice garage collection, most of the '90's muscle represented!
I have never seen such a beautiful color scheme and I am not a big fan of the color red very sexy car. Thank you for sharing your private yet public purchase with us.
WOW! My Favorite car of ALL TIME!! Had 3 of them. When I was 17 (in 1992) I bought my first one. A Black 1987 IROC Z-28 305TPI. 5 months later, some moron decided to make a left turn from the centerlane and I "T-boned " him. TOTALED MY Z.. Took the Insurance check and bought another 1987. A red one this time! Same 305TPI. Had in until 1994 when I rode in my buddies 1989 IROC with the 5.7 350cu in engine. Spanking the Mustang GT's of the day. Sold mine and found a 1987 with the 350cu in engine and the Australian 9 bolt rear end option from the dealer that came with 3.23 gears. 30,000mi car $6000 cash. Had that car until 2006. Kicking myself everyday for that mistake. Tried to find it a few years ago but had no luck. Anyway, that's a beautiful find. A true Gem!! Take good care of her!!!
I was going to initially state $19K but the flawed PAINT was a deterrent. The 45K on the odometer definitely helped to boost that sale price. All in All, the crew over here feels as though you did well since the vehicles are ascending rapidly. Many Thanks for the update ! Question - if in ONE year so someone offered you $40K would you SELL this Z28 ?!? 👉 💰 💰. 🤔
I never thought I'd see the day that third gen camaros would increase in value. I ditched mine in the 90's when they quickly became associated with Joe dirt trailer park types. I should've kept it had I known it'd actually increase in value someday but then again I didn't exactly have space to store it.
I had 85 iRock and 86 and I paid 14,900 it was only a year old at Tops. It was black with red trim Tops high.
Those are 3 nice 90's cars! Which is your favorite? The ZR1?

The Iroc!
Not cheap but it’s in great shape, awesome car👍 At least you bought it from the original owner. If you bought it from some dealer (who always seem to get there first) that price would have been doubled. That said, I don’t really understand getting a loan to buy a toy. I wouldn’t feel comfortable, but that’s just me I guess. Good luck.
Sounds like a steal to me
Very nice!

The opti-spark isn't the best design. Look out for oil leaks, slow power window motors, and rust in the rear quarter panels. I had a 1994 z-28 Camaro for 5 years, and those were the main issues. Good luck!
Value is very much what you place on it. Looks good to me. You’ve got a nice little collection going on there. Classics.
Don't listen to anyone. That wasn't a bad price from What i seen
We are almost twinning, mine is an 85 with TTops though
I said 27k because I just paid 24k for my 87 5.7 with 46k miles on it last summer. So you made out better than me!
That was a solid deal for a car that nice One owner, that says it all......
What exactly do you mean by low miles?
i was confused by the video a bit, but i think i figured it out as i had the same problem. you have too many cars that you cant store at your house. i would take that ram out of the garage and put the Camaro in there. i'm shocked at the prices of the thirdgens lately. my girl i bought from an owner that didn't treat it good. i restored the interior and modified it. it was a base model lg4 5 speed manual car with posi traction and A/C. 17k in 1986. she currently has a 6.0 hot cam ls with long tube headers an ls7 clutch with a tremec tko 600 5 speed mated to a moser 12 bolt rear axle, fully adjustable suspension. unfortunately she spends most of her time on the bendpak above my c6 vette.

My wife parks her minivan in the garage and, as you noted, I park the Ram in the garage as well because it’s brand new and I want to keep it nice. I have a Mustang Cobra that I park outside at my house and use it to switch out cars at my garages. When my wife isn’t home, sometimes I’ll slip a car in her spot for a day or two 😉.
mine was 2,500 75,000 miles it just needed a new battery and alternator and it only had one owner before me and it was right down the road from my house so no shipping fees crazy good deal
Born and raised in Utah. I've owned 2 1981 delorean's dmc 12's. Cars that sit need all gaskets done. Iroc needs valve seals. The more you drive it the more it will leak. Rubber turns to plastic
That Z is ULTRA CLEAN! Worth every penny imho…
What I think. Love the i roc but I was very happy to see the king of the hill again!
it's a beautiful car. well bought.

Truth. I bought a couple of months ago a mint 1996 Corvette LT1 with the rare ( 8% made ) Z51 Handling package. 40k miles white with red interior. Paid $14k But recently have seen them going up in price pretty fast. I have already been offered $18k. Nope keeping it forever along with my 64 Sting Ray and my 2007 3LT Z51
I had an 87 5.7 Loaded. Just another one of my cars I should never have sold!
I bought a 84 z28 for less than 3,000 when covid started… best choice I made so far
That's a beautiful car, I sure wish it was me that owned it. I was trying to read the odometer, did it say around 4400 miles? I once owned an 86 IROC, I sure regret getting rid of it. At the time, I lived in the city and everybody wanted to steal it. Also, after 50k miles, it started running really crappy and the dealer and nobody else could figure out why. The dealers treated me like total crap when I would try to get it repaired. Well, I guess those are just the things that happened back in the 80s with the nicer GM cars.
Very Nice!❤
I guessed 20K. I must say though getting it through Hemmings and condition you didn't get hurt Hey good day for a ride!!
thats about the fair market value now.. I bought my 87 iroc for 1600 back in 99 , 90k miles.
Hey man, I paid $20k for a mint 1985 Mustang GT with 37k original miles. I don’t care what anybody else thinks of it. It’s mine now! Enjoy your ride bro’. BTW.. I’ve seen Porsches , BMWs etc go for over $100k that I wouldn’t give 2 cents for 😂.
So funny. I own a 98 blk mustang cobra and looking to complete a buy for a red Iroc z. Lol. Beautiful car(s)
Worst car I ever had was a 1989 Camaro made to look like a Iroc. I bought it used though. Had to fix something on it almost every day. Looked great though. Recently bought a 2013 Camaro. Awesome car.
I don't remember seeing many with red decals. Is that oem or aftermarket?
@toddprater14

It’s oem that came with the red interior black stripe with contrasting red … black with gray interior would have black gray stripe/iroc decals or black blue….if the black car had tan interior it would have most likely black stripe with gold and gold iroc stickers
I have a clean 1988 convertible Camaro Iroc with only 2500 original miles and one owner. I wonder how much I can get for mine 🤔
Bought a new Red 5.7 IROC in 1988. Loved it. But wouldn't want it back. Bought a new 2023 ZL1 Never gunna give it up.
