@henkhessel3651 You are right - this version is from 1960, I believe, but only released on YT in Dec 2018, since when it has had 45M views!!!

I absolutely love this performance by Lucy. However, the Etta James video you picked was when Etta was 55 yo; Lucy is I believe 15 in this video. Etta released AT LAST in 1960 when she was 22 yo (unfortunately, there are no live performances that I can find). It is unfair to compare a weathered voice of 55 to an 18 yo voice! - Just Saying.

@@michaelhingley4770 I noticed that you've done a lot of reactions to Lucy - checkout "Smile" with Lucy, Martha & Louise(mom), I didn't see it on your list of performances by Lucy. "Smile" was composed by Charlie Chaplin in 1936 and lyrics added in 1954 by John Turner & Geoffrey Parsons and was released by Nat King Cole in 1954 reaching number 10 on the Billboard charts and number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

Are you kidding me, Etta was on her death bed, Anybody have the balls to do a fare comparison! I love Lucy, and think she is one of the best singers to come around in this generation! But Etta James in her prime is well Etta James! If you actually spliced these two clips together. Your bias is just that biased and isn't a reaction just click bait.

Any comparison is invidious and usually disrespects the original artist, if the cover is good - as Lucy's always are, of course! True also for Eva Cassidy's renditions of 'Over The Rainbow' and 'You Take My Breath Away', which Lucy has covered with such aplomb! 😊
