The way that funeral home mix up bodies, it's possible she's been cremated or buried under someone else's name. It's indeed a very sad and disturbing story. 💔

When bodies are cremated, there's a metal ID tag that is with the body from start to finish, and it's checked and verified at every step of the process by both the funeral director and the crematory staff. Mixing up bodies isn't as common as you may think.

Very sad story Lamont. Thanks for bringing this story some coverage. The funeral home should have been shutdown, especially after a second body has gone missing. Every family deserves some respect no matter who they are when laying someone to rest after dealing with a loved one who has passed. They took no regard in protecting this young woman's body. It wasn't enough that she died so young from an illness she couldn't help but also her remains are lost and her family now must grieve about her whereabouts because of another thing she could not control and that is her resting place of solitude. This is just fucked up on so many levels. 😔

I can understand how families attach some special meaning to the remains of their loved ones, but in cases where the families have a complete closure on the death itself, once their loved ones are dead it really makes no difference either way. I never understood why people visit the graves once in a while and pretend their loved ones are still alive in some way.

I used to live in San Antonio and remember when this happened. I couldn't believe someone would steal a corpse. I always believed the ex boyfriend did it, thinking maybe he was obsessed with this girl and didn't want to let her go but because the funeral home had a reputation for accidentally switching or mixing up bodies, it's possible that's what happened to this poor girl. I hope one day the family will know what really happened.

Then, you've got these different companies coming and going, dropping off and picking up bodies. So, a mix-up could easily happen. Much more likely than some guy colluding with someone and then trying to move and conceal a body.

Thanks for spotlighting this disease. I lost 2 cousins to this hideous disease. The first when she was eight years old and the other when she was 13. I don't think my aunt could ever sit down after that. She just kept so busy she couldn't think much.

With all the cases this funeral home has against them for losing bodies & having bodies getting “mixed up” why haven’t they lost their license? Why wasn’t there a thorough investigation by the authorities in each case to find out what the heck was going on at that place? That funeral home should have been shut down! Sad enough to lose a child but then to have her corpse disappeared or mixed up & never found is horrific! My heart breaks for Julie’s family. I can’t imagine their anguish & devastation over this.

This story reminds me of a story I heard several years ago. I'm thinking it was back in the thirties or forties. There was this doctor Who treated this pretty, young girl and became obsessed with her. After she died he started to break into her Crypt and sit with her body and then he eventually took the body out of the crypt to his house. He then did all kinds of really creepy things to preserve the body.

Must of been someone who disagreed with the choice of her being cremated and wanted her buried so there would be a place to visit and spend time with her. It's so unfair to the rest of the family to have no clue as to where her remains are. Thank you for the video and stay safe.

I've known a girl personally, that passed away from Cystic Fibrosis at around the same age Julie Mott passed away from it. Cystic Fibrosis is a very sad, progressive disease and it makes me very sad that Julie suffered in life and in death was taken like this so her soul may never be at rest, and her family has no closure.

Thank you Lamont at Large for helping another family attempt to get closure after another funeral home mistake. This video raises slot of questions. I call into question the qualifications of this particular funeral home, they've made to many mistakes, has the licensing board of the particular state where this establishment is located been notified?, also is there a tagging system where each set of remains gets an identifying tag. I hope the each family who was adversely affected gets closure by changes this establishment makes to better serve their community not just the monetary payout cause money will never undo what happened.

While, I am not a parent, myself, it must be earth-shattering, anguish not to know where your child(ren) could be, when know that they are *somewhere*, doing *something*...but it has to be enormous grief and emotional turmoil, to have to accept the terrible fact that your child is dead, and you have NO inkling as to *where* their remains are. In my wildest nightmare, I could NOT imagine that
