Hepco Becker Centre Stand - Scrambler 1200 XE
Finally! A center stand for the Scrambler 1200 XE -- from Hepco & Becker in Germany. Purchased from AJ Cycles in NY state.
Install is so EASY! The frame is ready to accept the stand from the factory. But that damned spring was a pain.
Triumph sources a center stand for their street biased XC model, but did not think the XE would need it. Maybe because Ernie Vigil drives it at 105mph over sand dunes?? But for the rest of us, chain maintenance is a must and this stand is just going to make life a lot easier.

Brilliantly described. Very useful 👏🏻
Heads up on the spring: If you have the factory engine guard, take a ratchet strap and hook it to the front of the engine guard and then the spring. Then crank it up and it’s an easy hook.
thank you for this.... was looking for a video like this!
nicely desribed, thank You!
i think this is the only center stand installation video for a Triumph Scrambler 1200XC/XE
This is a nice kid - a little Napoleon Dynamite vibe, but he is a good egg. It doesn't weigh 12-15 lbs. The plate weighs less than 2 lbs. 8.5 lbs total weight. I used a single smooth barrel 8 inch screwdriver to leverage the spring - took about 5 tries, but not too terrible. It is a great stand. Easy to lift if you use your legs and hips. It is all technique.
Well done tutorial, this was what I was looking for before I bought mine. That spring tortured me for a couple hours. I ended up using Harbor Freight brake spring pliers and looped the curved end around the stand leg and it went right on the first try without any help.
Your video was really helpful! I used a large screwdriver and a large metal pipe that is about 2 feet long. The I.D. of the pipe was large enough to put the screwdriver handle in. I put the screwdriver in the pipe for more leverage and placed the tip on the rear mounting tab. Once the spring was far enough to slide down, I was able to push down on the spring with the pipe to move it onto the tab. That worked out great. The similar size bolts also through me. One set will easily thread into the frame, the other will not. The tops of the bolts have different markings.
Thanks for this video! I just received a replacement for the left frame assembly (which broke in half - in my opinion based on an inadequate tube strength by the kickstand). I wanted to make sure to store on a center stand 90% of the time to avoid another break. This really helped with the install. what I used to pull the spring was a basic strap from O'Reillys. I wrapped it around a couple spokes at the center of the wheel where it had really good strength - and the strap is rubber so if anything, the strap would break before anything else. I was surprised it actually did the trick. But yeah - thanks again for the great video.
nicely done. thanks for sharing. I bought a Bikemaster Liftstick off amazon. Basically tilts the bike up on to the kickstand to free the rear wheel. Haven't tried it yet. Also bought a brake holder piece (made for bikes, but works on motorcycles) to keep the bike from moving while jacking it up (or over). I think it'll work as long as I'm on flat ground and don't get crazy with it.
I use paddock bobbins and a paddock stand for chain maintenance...and/or anything else the center stand might be good for. An additional 15lbs is a ton for an already big bike! My XE sees dirt and off road regularly when not daily commuting, so I’ll pass but Thank you for the stellar video! Very well done!
Here's a tip for getting those springs on - do the inner spring first, then the outer spring - cuts the resistance a lot. Still probably need a tool - I use an old skate-lacing puller from my college hockey days
Thanks for the video. I’m really struggling to get my bike onto my Oxford paddock stand on my own. The way the xe leans on its side stand, even with a piece of wood underneath it, the hooks don’t clasp the bobbins ( and yes I’m on flat ground) . I am not risking a drop. This is the way forward but at some price , £240!
It was mentioned, but bears emphasis. Hepco & Becker included 2 sets of bolts the exact same type, diameter, and length - but different Thread Pitches! Put those nyloc nuts on the coarse thread bolts as soon as you open the package. Or risk wrecking the threads in your frame by putting the coarse thread bolts (1.5) into the 1.25 thread tapped frame. It's asinine H&B didn't use totally different bolts for the Center Stand pivot point.
Awesome Video - Would love to see more vids of your Scrambler too :)
Wow, that’s a lot of added weight
Do you have a link for this center stand. Can not find it at AJ's or anywhere else in the U.S.
Any idea if this would work with the Zard low exhaust?
What tires do you have on your scrambler?
I have an xc. It also has no centre stand
