    New Subscriber. Picking up my new 2023 XE Scrambler on June 19. Watching all of your videos and looking forward to getting my bike. You have the best and most informative videos so far! Quick question: If I remove cat and replace with straight pipes that provide proper back pressure will bike have to be retuned? Sorry but also, where is Episode 3 of your three part series? Thank you.

    Very nice video, thank you. Wish this video was out before I tried setup and using ECUTune! Finally got it figured out and purchased license. On the mapping, do you have to capture your current map and send that off to be evaluated? Or, do you send your setup with any changes you've made from stock and they send a recommended map. How much better is doing this when compared to letting the bike self adjust after each change?

  • @lifeofascrambler

    @lifeofascrambler

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Jeffery! No worries I hope it was helpful. Short answer, no you don’t need to send your current map off (unless they’ve changed it) but I think the baseline map is mostly the same anyway, you just need to email them a list of mods you’ve done and they email a tune back

    Really good question and I have no idea because I’ve not messed with the Euro5 ECU. I assume that when they say “Euro 5” it might just be a change of the tune that comes stock, so that it has lower emissions, because Euro 5 is just an emissions standard, BUT I can’t say for sure, might be a good Q for the Scrambler 1200 DNK group on Facebook!?

    Thanks for explaining more about tuning your ECU! Why did you decide to change your mapping? Also, does this change all riding modes?

  • @lifeofascrambler

    @lifeofascrambler

    Жыл бұрын

    I changed my mapping because I had an issue with the bike stalling and also I have modified my bike, so I wanted the tune to match. I believe it’s changed mostly the sports mode, off-road pro modes but a baseline change across them all because the throttle is much more responsive.

    Great video! How can I adjust parameters if I change my sprockets from 17T/37T to 126T/39T. Euro 5 Triumphs will throw an ERROR if speed, gear, and RPM change slightly more than stock.

    Great video man. I've decided to service my bike myself as its a keeper so this video was useful thanks. I had a signal fault with my IMU and they changed the unit!!. How come you went for a tune? Are you running a decat and filter? If so what kind of gains have you seen?

  • @lifeofascrambler

    @lifeofascrambler

    Жыл бұрын

    No worries! Hope its helpful! My Triumph dealer said it was fine, and they've been pretty good to me, plus it all seems to be working no worries, so I'll wait and see I guess! I am running slash cut exhaust, with the Cat in, and a DNA filter. I mostly got it because I had stalling issues with the stock tune and also wanted a bit more snappy throttle which the tune solved both issues straight away. Hard to say empiracally what gains I've seen, because I haven't Dynoe'd it but I did notice a lot more power in the sports mode, and also the low down torque was a bit less, but I think that's mostly related to removing the stock mufflers due to a drop in 'backpressure'

  • @lifeofascrambler

    Yes the throttle is much more responsive and I felt the power actually winds on much harder and faster at certain RPM. Also, its definitely running richer than before, which counteracts the lean stock tune it comes with to pass compliance tests.

    Great question I don’t know!? I haven’t seen that as an option in Tune ECU, and I don’t know if that’s a restriction on the tuning or something else like injectors etc, I know some countries have restrictions so there are specific things done to bikes in California for example with an additional kill switch (I’ve heard) so this could be similar in terms of some countries restrict, others don’t

I’ll make sure I simplify it more next time, but please keep in mind I do spend many hours researching, learning, shooting and editing videos giving away this knowledge for free.

    Wow the first 1:45 is just plugging the channel. So glad I’m able to skip ahead to the actual point. But then you mention other videos that explain the mapping better, but you don’t even provide a list of recommended videos. So why do you expect folks to support you making content full time if you can’t provide a basic coverage of what your video title says? To be explicit - you should list the videos that you suggest are out there, or better yet actually do the coverage of the mapping! Otherwise what makes your video channel special? Furthermore, the camera doesn’t focus on the tablet screen so the audience can’t really see anything. And then you just emailed yourself some file you prepped beforehand, which teaches the audience nothing. Just saying that if you want to be getting monetary rewards as a content creator, then you gotta up your content creation. The most useful thing you said was to have one’s battery plugged in during the flash.
