    It's a mystery to me why factories don't build bikes with a 'cleaned up' tail to start with! From my perspective, it's one of the easiest and earliest mods to do to most bikes....what an awesome difference it makes! Nice work, D & P!

    Hi Del. As ever a quality install so brilliantly described. My recently bought 2019xe already has the tec tailtidy but I will be changing the indicators with the tec . Question if you can advise please - Do I need to buy the two hole to single indicator lamp adapters for the rear as well as the front? Merry Christmas to you and yours. Ps How long have you had your xe?

  • @Moonfleet41

    @Moonfleet41

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Jamie, Thanks for your kind words mate. You'll only need the double bolt brackets for the front, as the TEC tail tidy has just a single bolt hole for the back indicators and its the right size.. You can actually fit them to the front without the adapters, but you'd need to drill out the factory bracket hole to 10mm, and the indicators will end up a little close together! Have a great Christmas too mate, and yeah, i got the big Scrambler a couple of months ago.!

    l fitted an Evotech tail tidy to my Street Triple 675... it looked great..it looked like a factory item....l took the bike for an ITV (MOT) .it failed straight away, because it didn't comply to homologation, same applied to my slip on Exan exhaust. So beware of future legislation regarding aftermarket parts...España is a wonderful country for biking buts its legislation regarding originality (homologation) is draconian...

    @@Moonfleet41 is indeed! Tuesday is the best of all next week weather wise, so I'll be heading over on the BMW R1200RTP for the day! I would say wave if you see a DocBike riding round, but we have operational bikes where you are so the riders might look at you a bit funny if it isn't me 🤣 Must arrange a meet up and chin wag soon though mate!

    Excellent job; well thought out processes & filming. It's very neat, functional & tidy - without looking like a Manx cat . . . (Though my idea of a 'tail-tidy' only amounts to the occasional pair of clean shreddies . . . it is 'quite an occasion') Interesting range of fastener sizes too - are Triumph's design team on a 'bung' from some desperate tool-truck driver? The rise in factory thread-locking compounds - production line friendly, cheaper than tab washers etc. & well capable of outliving the warranty - & after that? - in that environment, all those fancy bolt heads will be toast anyway, so who cares? Apart from heat, is there a universal quick-release-agent for any of these 'goos' yet? (Yeah, torque!) Have a brill w/e : )xx

    Hi Penny & Del, hope you are both doing well? Did I miss a video where you unveil a new bike?! She does look very nice, hope your health is going well and you are not doing too much! Don't forget to take time for you and Penny as life is a very short thing. Nice informative video, take it easy.

    Im just wondering what the Hater will say about this vid ? i wish more people took the time and effort as you both clearly do to explain what you are doing and the camera work and lighting is excellent ! But then again i spose its easier to slag people off and make money of the back of others vids .

    With the amount of tail tidy kits out there and the extensive design efforts manufacturers devote to their bikes, I’ve never understood personally why the designs from factory aren’t more akin to the aftermarket options. Some of the factory tails are truly horrible in comparison to the aftermarket kits.

    I think the factories are limited in some ways by import legislation, any manufacturer making bikes for world wide consumption have to make them universally compliant, That said, they are a lot better these days than the butt ugly tail ends of bikes in the 1980's lol!

    Stop Press:- just had a quick read up... it seems that legislatively, bikes must have bodywork that extends beyond the back wheel.. and the easiest / cheepest way to achieve this is to poke the number plate further out the back to cover it... it's perfectly legal to change this and have the back wheel as the rear most point.. as long as your plate is the right size..!

    @@Moonfleet41 thanks Del. I suppose this makes sense considering the designs I’ve seen but I never thought about legislation as being the reason. I guess if poking the license plate out like a unicorn horn gets the job done it’s understandable.
