We didn't just enjoy him @De Sant he defined our lives. I watched the guy play a style of football I don't think anyone has ever done since, yeah messi included, I find it hard to watch his goals on youtube without a tear forming in my eye, in a good way. He was and will always be "The King". Henrik Larsson, Henrik Larsson, Henrik Larsonn is the king of Kings (Henrik Stenson is also special, and a King, but that's a different story!!!)

We really did love him. I remember when he left, fighting back emotions. Henrik is just one of those great footballers who you are lucky enough to see or realise how good they are. But he's also a wonderful human being and I think even more people appreciate him for that. Sweden - Tak :-)

It was a relationship as deep as any one could imagine, at Henriks last game at Celtic Park everyone in that crowd of 60,000 were weeping uncontrollably including Henrik.We did indeed share him and we thank Sweden for his short time in Scotland, it was simply magical

As a Man City fan I have nothing but respect for Larsson. He was class at Celtic, class at Barca and class at United. The fact that he is so humble about it makes me like him even more. Even on his principles for him to say no to extending his loan at United when they were at their peak due to his promise to go back to the hometown club who signed him and loaned him out because of wanting a home for his children instead of money and trophy glory, he is to me a much bigger legend than Zlatan. Big respect to you Henrik.

Celtic is a wonderful club.. I love the city too.. I even love the subdued rainy whether.. the greenish greyish castles.. Edinburgh is just as amazing. A shame some people see PSG and ManCity as big clubs but not Celtic. Its not true. It doesnt get bigger than Celtic in many dimensions outside money and CL success.

As a Celtic fan, I rest easy knowing Henrik got European success eventually. I'd have hated for him to retire without that accolade. Would have loved to see him lift the UEFA cup but on a personal level I'm just glad he got to cross that off his list.

This guy single handedly broke Arsenal fan hearts in the 2006 CL final. As a gooner, I still remembered the pain and gets reminded of it every year we become more and more distant from the competition. But hands down, he should have been considered one of the bestest players every graced the game! Not only skills, but desire and work rate and consistency throughout his career! How I wished he played for Arsenal!

I've never known a man so loved by Celtic fans since Jock Stein and Jimmy Johnstone . A truly great player.

What a player, what a gentleman, what an inspiration. The best player ever to grace the football pitches of Scotland. LEGENDARY.

I'm a 46 yr old man and I'm not ashamed to admit that this guy is my hero, if only more professional footballers of today showed the same committemnt and humility that this legend showed throughout his career then football would be a far better place!

As a Rangers fan I feel blessed to have watched this man play. Broke our hearts a few times, but what a talent. Laudrup and Gazza are the best I seen for us, Gazza in the 8 in a row season was world class, and Larsson was right up there, if not better. Just a joy to watch at times, I always feel staying with Celtic showed his great nature as a loyal man, as I feel he could have went to play for anyone in his prime, and stayed true. You don't get that in football anymore.

Not really, even back then all top footballers had websites ran by agencies, if things like Instagram had been around in the 80's I'm sure Van Basten, Maradona and Platini would have used it like Neymar, Ronaldo or whoever nowadays. Wouldn't really affect them as footballers or people.

Always be loved by celtic fans for his loyalty & master class of finishing. So happy I had the privilege to see this amazing man in the Hoops, Hail Hail King Henrik!!! Once a Celt always a Celt!!

I was gutted when he left Celtic but remember hearing that Barca were interested in him when I was on holiday in Greece. I was so proud. Going from Celtic to Barcelona at 32. Impossible. When he set up that goal in the CL final I almost burst through the roof. He was such a great player. Sixteen years since he left. F hell.

Met him at Glasgow airport got him to sign my passport and i`m a gers fan. Total respect for Henrik.

I will never forget how Henrik Larsson's Manchester United day amazed me. How can a player play like a 10 year veteran in his debut, it's pure class.

Fantastic player.. Seeing him for united in those few games i quickly realised he was far more than a goalscorer.. His football intelligence was off the charts!!

Absolutely. In addition to his (sometimes phenomenal) goals, he was (like Kenny Dalglish) an old-fashioned inside-forward par excellence. His dummy to take out Colin Hendry for the first goal in the 5-1 Old Firm win of 1998 was brilliant.

Being Man Utd, it was great to have him even for a short period. He did create an impact in 3 months. Respect his decision not to stay. Man of humility and integrity.

What a guy. Only here in Manchester for a short time, but great memories of him.

What a man...a true Celtic legend. It was an honour to be in the stands week in week out watching the greatest player i saw in the hoops. His love for the club is there for all to see.

Larsson was a great player, and comes across as a good person. Even though he played in a league that is considered weaker than the big five European leagues he did it consistently season after season. Then, when he got the call from Barcelona and Manchester United he did it at those clubs. Big up every time.

I remember Henrik playing for us and I remember loving him obviously but the older I get the more I love him and the more I'm amazed that we had a player of that class playing for Celtic for as long as we did. These days you'll probably never see a player of that class playing outside of England, Spain or Germany. Thanks for everything Henrik we'll love you forever, truly the king of kings.

Sadly I think you are right about top players like Larrson avoiding leagues outside the biggest 4 in Europe.

Absolute legend. Great human being. Imitated you as a little guy playing amongst grownups after the 94 world cup... Your partnership with Anderson in the swedish team. Then finally being able to watch you close out your career at my Team Man Utd as a grown up... Thanks Henrik.... Nothing but love

King of kings. Still such an underrated player. His performance in the UEFA Cup was incredible. His loyalty also goes unrewarded. One of the greatest. Still should have won that final in 2003... Gutted.

Will never forget watching Henrik's debut v Hibs. He helped to make Chic Charnley look like a world class player. Course players make mistakes don't they but it was blown up as was a live game on SKY that day. Aug 1997. I have nothing but admiration for Henrik Larrson. A consummate professional and he's surely a Hoops legend.

Henrik was an astonishing talent. Left foot right foot and heading ability combined made him a formidable footballing talent known all around the world. My greatest footballer growing up, he was soo special...

What an absolute gentleman. Still a hero of mine as a United fan. Legend

The way in which Henrik has carried himself outside of the pitch is amazingly inspirational.

I love Henrik Larsson he is the best striker I ever seen live, absolutely untouchable! As a Celtic and Manchester United fan I was very blessed to see this man score so many world class goals including the goal he scored against us for Barcelona when he came on and chipped the keeper right infront of me 🤯 i shook my head in disbelief applauding the man whilst many die hard celtic fans around me were losing their minds. It was emotional! Henrik Larsson is a king 👑 But Yahshua HaMashiach/ Jesus Christ thhe Messiah is the true King of Kings 👑 GodBlessYou All 🙏

Growing up, seeing Henke's brilliance was awe inspiring for me. Helsingborg played my home team and me and my father went to the game, and after that game which we lost I was blown away by what I had seen from Larsson. I wasn't even upset that we had lost which I normally would have been, because he was at this point in time far and beyond any talent that I had seen first hand. This meant that there were levels of skill beyond what I had imagined possible in our league. This one experience insipred me in my own game and he continued to impress wherever he went over the years. What has made him a legend for me was how he carried himself on and off pitch and how down to earth he is. A football great and a class act. Thanks for all the memories Henke!

@@gillianbenjamin2544 Larsson in his prime at current prices would be snapped up for 100 million and if he was at Celtic now that's the price he would be going for or close to it. He was a proven goalscorer not just in Scotland but in Europe

Think Brian Laudrup Davie Cooper Gazza and Dave Mackay were equally great (not a Rangers fan)

Best performance I ever seen a player have was this guy and I have watched some special players. This guy for Celtic against my team was a level above. We out played Celtic and lost owing mostly to a really really good game by a very special player. Henrik I would rather have had the three points but thanks for that display I hope to always remember it.

When I was young, I always use to see this guys name on Teletext. Every week he use to be scoring for Celtic.

242 goals in 315 matches in 7 years, 1 of those years he didn't play because of a horrific broken leg, came back the following season and scored 53 goals and won the European golden boot

@@paulearl8203 How have they achieved more than Celtic? They have both won a European Cup. Celtic have been league champions 50 times compared to Feyenoord's 15. Feyenoord haven't progressed out of a European group in about 15 years. Feyenoord have been tp one European cup semi finals, Celtic have been to 4. Celtic have been to 7 quarter finals, Feyenoord have been to 2 or 3. Feyenoord are huge but they haven't achieved as much as Celtic sorry.

Love that he went to England & Spain & had a good impact. Always got stick for playing at Celtic, but he was incredible. Quality obviously, but desire through the roof

Larsson is the only person who I legitimately tear up while listening to them speak. It's surreal. Absolute legend of the highest order.

This guy was my football childhood untill he left celtic when I was 16 best player I have ever seen and definitely without a doubt one of the greatest strikers to ever play the game the things this guy could do were unbelievable

His story would make a good movie!! I hated this man growing up 🇬🇧 but what a player the guy was a genius

I had doubts about Henrik being a good manager, and from what he's shown so far it's hard to believe he'll ever be a successful manager. I think his character suits being a player better.

As a Glasgow Rangers man, I can honestly say this player was class

I remember vividly when Ferguson brought him in on loan just to cover Saha and at the time Henrik was 35 and only played 13 games for us, his impact was such that Ferguson begged him to stay. A model professional and it speaks volumes about the type of player Henrik was

I remember how excited I was when Sky Sports broke the news he was coming to United on loan I wish he stayed longer but he contributed a lot and doesn’t get enough credit for the part he played in United winning the 2006/07 title
