Roofe scored the first goal in the first game and the ref gave a foul after Lagerbielka was stripped of the ball. Of course it didn’t count but it should have. The second game at Ibrox could have gone either way but ended in a draw. The two games at Celtic Park Rangers were down to ten for half of each game. Results matter. But on the simple question of whether Celtic are “miles ahead” the answer is obvious. Gone are the 4-0 and 5-1 skelpings. The gap isn’t that big.

It's the poorest Scottish club football has ever been in my lifetime I am 42, coming up for 43 & I have never ever known all our clubs to be so utterly terrible. Celtic are the beat of a terrible , terrible standard of league that is The Scottish Premier League. The gap between Celtic & Rangers is big the gap between Rangers & Hearts is bigger still , the hap between Hearts all the way down to Eeast Kilbride In the Lowland League is like the bloody Grand Grand Canyon. Our club game is in a shambolic state every game, including The Old Firm games are as dull as ditch water I dont care if we are talking Old Firm game , Edinburgh derby , Aberdeen V Hibernian or Raith Rovers V Dundee United, the games are dull with not a lot of action in terms of goals. I remember a time when The Old Firm had genuine talented players. Even clubs like Hearts , Hibernian, Aberdeen , Saint Mirren, Dundee , Dundee United had players you would pay good money to watch not now. So my Celtic fans are happy to be Kings of a tinny Sandpit & that is what our league is now. Me I am looking to have Scottish club football be the Taj Mahal of football, not just. a pishy small Sandpit of a league. Ask your this you're happy now as a Celtic fan in 2024 & this is the standard of football player you are seeing what will the standard of your team be like in 15 to 20 years from now if this is the standard now it's only going to go down the standard as time go's on the way things are heading thanks to the clowns running our league. My nephew is 6, and now he is a Celtic fan & how I look at it is you might of seen Larsson & co but what will the standard be like buy the time he is old enough to go to Celtic Park with his friends & from whare I standard I dread to think. The League needs more working capital for all clubs regardless of whether it's Celtic or Livingston you cant have a league with only one club in it now, can you. Think about all that.

Celtic looked very good for the first 30 minutes and I thought butland really kept Rangers in it. Celtics defending for rangers goal was poor and then when Celtic had 11 Vs 10 Celtic were way out ahead for another 30 minutes but there seemed to be a real lack of urgency about scoring and a almost cocky attitude to pass the ball into the net. Which made the last 10 minutes somewhat end to end when rangers thought okay go for it. Celtic are poor under Rodgers and the mentality to see out big games is missing but the quality is there to be seen in moments. Rangers are just bad their right back is their top scorer but he gets done and shown up as a defensive liability in every single big game.

Grahams analogy that to be a ‘football person’ you have to have been a player or manager is absolute nonsense. Only 0.001% get that opportunity. Many of us dedicate so much of our spare time and money into football whether it be watching from home or the terraces. Football is for everyone.

As much as I disagree with Souness on most issues, I think the idea that Rangers and Celtic would suffer in the English Premiership or Championship mental. They'd gain a silly amount of money for playing in those leagues, which they'd be able to use to attract bigger players. It's the sad fact that the SPL just doesn't have the reputation or the money to attract the type of quality you find in the English leagues.

Souness is deluded. Anyone watching that game objectively would concede that Celtic were miles ahead of Rangers and the 2-1 result flattered them. Could have easily been 5 or 6-1.

The gulf is massive, in every sense of the word. Financial and quality wise. Player for player Celtic would dominate a starting 11 between the two. Rangers have lost well over a hundred million, and yes that’s right. A hundred million plus in losses since sevco have been founded. Soft loans still need paid and they currently have over 80 million in loans. Anyone want to disprove that?

Celtic have struggled this season and still seen off rangers very easily. If Clements plan is to play long ball football then he will be gone within the first 2 months of next season.

@@danderson8463 I meant easily in the glasgow derbies. We should have had most of them wrapped up at halftime if it wasnt for poor finishing. The spine of celtics team is better than rangers and celtic will continue to have the upper hand until rangers buy better players or celtic lose players.

@@jackjones1249 That is rubbish ...the first game at Ibrox we had a goal disallowed which should have stood at 0 -0.. you will probably say but Celtic scored after that...wrong... the whole game would have been different had that goal stood..that Celtic goal would not have happened... then there were other decisions in other games.... yes, Celtic are slightly ahead of us as Souness says but not by that much despite Celtic having more money to spend

@@clarkefraser920 The goal was rightly disallowed, it was the same reason the penalty was gving in the last game. You need to learn the rules, it will make it easier for you to understand decisions. Anyway that was only one game. Rangers have taking one point from 12 and celtic simply have better players in key postions. Celtic have more money to spend and have more sellable assets, yet rangers have the higher wage bill. If celtic play their cards right they could dominate the league for a few years yet.

The goal was rightly disallowed? Lagerbielke fell over his own feet kicking Dessers. When the goal was originally given not one Celtic player claimed a foul, they were too busy berating the Swede for making a Horlicks of it.

Celtic cheated so why did they not die? they used EBTs as did a lot of clubs... Rangers died as you say because Whyte was allowed to take over Rangers and the SFA and Uefa did NOT carry out the due deligence test which they should have done, but you probably don't know what that is.. You are like all Celtic fans ... overlook your own team cheating and haven't got a clue at what happened at Rangers

The thing that no one has seemed to admit is that Celtic have not feared Rangers since Gerrard was manager, and even in the year or two before they won the league, rangers were much more of a force and even beat Celtic at Parkhead and regularly at Ibrox. Gerrard had something the last three managers have not. Time may be one of those things but I think there is more to it than just that.

Was no fear with Gerard either tbf, Rodgers walking led to upheaval and Lennon was brought in which was the worst possible move and ended up costing the title. After that their was a rebuild that payed off.

They love to make excuses for their managers. He's managed the majority of games this season and was out in front a few months ago. Unbelievable

When you look at the final table and Celtic are at least 6 ponts ahead with a better goal difference, nobody is going to say that was close.

Sourness is a dinosaur and hurting bigtime ..which is beautiful! His bankrolling mate David Murray chased the dream of winning the Champions League and was so blinded by it that he killed off his club. The club died trying to copy our historic win in 1967...now we are only 1 trophy away from equalling their "most succesful club in the world" nonsense!

Poor Graeme. His delusions are so sad. The Gulf is Huge.

If the gulf was huge, you would be winning the title by a margin in double figures. You would also be winning Old Firm games by a margin greater than the single goal victories you recorded this season. The fact is you have regressed under Brenda and got away with it because Clement is still working with a lot of the dross of the Gerrard/van Bronkhorst/ Beale eras. In the end, despite wringing out eveything he could from that squad, it wasn't quite enough and we threw it away in one week.

Celtic have effectively now won 12 out of the last 13 titles and have won 7 out of the last 10 Glasgow derbies, drawn 2 and lost just once. The solitary rangers victory was a dead rubber. Souness is talking nonsense.

Celtic fan here. I agree with Souness in the sense of head to head the games haven't had much between the sides. Rangers could maybe feel hard done by not to have won atleast 1. Although I would counter his argument of its not clement's players yet. The same argument could be made of Rodgers. He's still left with a lot of ange's players

Enjoy the Celtic and rangers chat. That being said I wish on this channel the conversation wouldn’t always revert to finances and ‘if they were in the premier league’. Can’t we just focus fully on the reality and discuss within the context of what they do and what they will have financially for upcoming windows.

I'm a Rangers fan I don't think there's a massive gap, but the gap is bigger than Souness believes. Celtic have dropped closer to our level for a large part of the season, while the players were adjusting to Rodgers style of play. Souness must think a big gap=Celtic finishing 15 points ahead every season or whatever, but that will never be the case. Because Rangers are far better than all the other teams, so they'll get enough points to be quite close to Celtic. So the gap is shown more when we play Celtic & he can talk about close games, but Celtic still get the win more often than not in the last few years. Hopefully Clement is backed in the summer & we can finally compete better. We're needing at least 6 or 7 players, while getting rid of those that aren't good enough or turn up for 4 months of the season.

Celtic fan here, yeah it's the 4 derby matches that definitely make or break the season for either club, but sometimes freak results do occur, like when rangers lost to Motherwell and then Celtic also lost the same day. It's rare to see both lose the same day, How much money do you think Rangers will get this summer as for the rebuild they're talking about gonna happen, the reported £25 mill might not be enough?

@@tt99football56 if you asked me back in March who would win I definitely would have said rangers, you did look strong up until that point. And regards to selling players, who of value is there at the club who could bring in good fees, Butland would def be top. But then you'd need to spend a chunk of his fee on a new keeper.

no wins from 4 games says otherwise. First game Rangers had home advantage full squad to pick from, Celtic full of injuries and a makeshift defence....they never laid a glove on us. Rangers are nowhere near Celtic.

As a Rangers fan, Celtic are so far ahead that it's not even funny. Celtic are comparable to PSG & Bayern in their own leagues
