    Important to note it breaks fevers. Medicinally, Henbit is best used internally as a tea. It is anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory, so it's great for relieving chronic pain, soreness, and stiffness. As a diaphoretic and febrifuge, it's great for breaking fevers and alleviating their unpleasantness

    It grows plentifully in fall and late spring in most of the country. By end of May in USDA planting zones 4 and south it is usually starting to yellow. It does not like hot weather. Gather it early for fresh eating and to preserve by drying.

    I have it here in my back yard, north central Texas, also chickweed, cleavers, dock, purslane, and wild lettuce .
