Great plan. When we started here we built a 50x50 rain roof along with the catchment from our cabins and chicken coop. Our average rain fall is 12" here and we are completely rain water here. We compost human waste and I built a small septic drain field for our kitchen sink. My wife and I average 350 gal of water a month with dogs and chickens. So far our orchard is apple and mulberry trees and we plant a lot of jeruselem artichoke for us and the chickens and is a drought resistant bee attracter. I hope to learn more and start our food Forrest this year and get working on the washes. Thanks for sharing your journey ya'll

Using the Permaculture studies and concepts, seems like a huge helping hand in evaluating your wish lists and making all the “systems” work for you, in the same direction. I am excited for you guys and will be watching the trials and tribulations, all the discovery that will open up for you both. We are getting up in years and will enjoy watching you guys, your whole family build a thoughtful environment. Best of luck and thank you for sharing this event. Love each other, trust each other and learn from each other!

Don’t give up on your dream, but scale it to meet your capacity. The best life is the one with the fewest regrets. This comment isn’t directed directly at your situation of which I’m unaware, but just a suggestion in general. My wife & I are not young, as I’m approaching the expiration date for males. We are transitioning to homesteading, slowly. Challenge & necessity promote growth! Take care & be well!

Thank you for your overall plan for your homestead. I am rooting 📣 for you! All of that water on your land 🤗. This video gives people a better understanding about permaculture...from the beginning. Batten down the hatches because monsoon season is around the corner. This will also be a good time to monitor where puddles happen, mudslides and what grows during monsoon.

I just found your channel and a new subscriber . With your husband’s background, I’m looking forward to seeing how you develop your property and build your new Homestead. The property looks incredible. Can’t wait to see how you design your house to capture that view.

Thanks for the videos. Great overview of permaculture, and I love your video journey. I'm looking for land in AZ myself, so it's been helpful and thought-provoking for me. Keep it up!

Great job, now nothing to it but to do it. It will be a lot of work but you and the kids will benefit from the freedom and sustainability that you have built. By the way, I like the shirt and a cool beard. I have always wanted a beard but my hair grows to a certain length and then just curls up on itself. My son has a beard down to his mid section, which would drive me crazy but it works for him. Bless you on your continued journey.

Love the explanations of the design and the entertwined purpose of the various areas. How do you manage wildlife incursion... ie rabbits eating garden or deer nibbling trees? Is that even an issue?
