People need to remember that it’s not just depression that can lead homes to being like this. ADHD with or without ASD can do it, too. Lots of buying things to get a dopamine hit mixed with executive dysfunction making it hard to tidy and clean, particularly when there are a lot of belongings, it’s overwhelming. I always put these videos on to help me when sorting my house out 😊

The cool thing is, putting the video on might work as a virtual body double which, for anyone who doesn't know, is when someone works alongside you which often motivates people on the spectrum to also work!

@@bunniewood I'm trying to get there! Definitely feel good getting rid of stuff and aiming for minimalism to keep it that way, but parents gave me lots of my brother's stuff after he died, gave me my sister's stuff when she moved out, and lots of their stuff when they moved. Then sister moved back in bringing enough stuff for two storage units. Got rid of enough to empty one, then everything else went into the house. Combined with lots of animals and every room being in various stages of DIY with belongings being in every room but the one they're meant to be in, it's all a bit overwhelming. Also have chronic pain and fatigue and mobility issues with another medical condition so it's slow progress. Will get there one day! 😀

@Aileen McCarthy Yes, use dish soap (Dawn the blue one) and scrub the tub and walls with the sponge. Let it sit for a bit. Afterwards, spray vinager in the tub, faucets, and walls. Scrub the tub again. Now you can rinse. This is very effective! The grease and the scum come right off.

I’m sitting here watching the candle wax being scraped. I realized that it’s not “fun” for us to clean our own mess like that, because there’s inner scolding like, “I should’ve known better to put the candles near heat, I’m dumb”etc etc! We can all be SO self-shaming. We need to give ourselves the love & I understanding that we give others. The wax can be scraped up, no harm done, it can even be fun. No more self shaming. Life happens & we all make mistakes.

I found this summer that direct sunlight can melt candle wax. I was sorting out some stuff in my flat - it's pretty small, but we are lucky enough to have a garden and I left a candle and a few items outside while I was sorting out a cupboard and it was quite warm. When it came to bringing it back inside, I saw that the sunlight had melted the top. If the window is south facing it would get pretty warm in the summer. I once had one candle get misshapen because it was in the window and a can of wood stain evaporate because it was in direct sunlight.

there are some youtubers i don't mind my views, subscriptions, comments, and like supporting financially. auri makes good money by being an influencer and through her sponsors. i don't care if she's making 10s of thousands of dollars a month, she gives her best effort in every home she cleans and she does it all for free. in a sense, yes she pays out of pocket for some of these things she buys for these people, but that money does still come from our active participation and engagement in her channel. it's not a bad thing, but i am not going to pretend like she's poor, you know? she's resparked my own interest in cleaning, my grandma had a home much like the ones she visits... she had rodents in her house and smoked inside her home for years. she was a bit of a hoarder and had a bunch of pets. her home was always really bad, i can relate very much to auri when she goes to these places. there's so many things you dont expect to find. so many different kinds of odors. to go in with a smile and tackle it all head on for FREE is wonderful and not something many people could do.

I love watching this young lady. She never has a bad thing to say about the home owner. She sympathizes with the fact that some can't help it. She has inspired me to do better. I have depression. I've let my house get pretty bad. I'm now on medication. I'm learning to trash the trash, and set aside things that could be saved with not much time or trouble. I go one room at a time. I've gotten my 2 bathrooms back and next is the bedroom. It's not fun not easy, but..... I feel so much better as I get it straightened out. I'm going to try using oven cleaner to cut through one or two really bad places. It can happen to the best of us, the most organized of us. Learn it's OK to ask for help. I have 2 friends I call on and the nephew of another. I'm happy to say. They don't judge, they don't make bad comments, they just go where needed and do. I've had them come back over 2 or 3 days, until done. You are only alone if you let yourself be alone. It doesn't hurt to ask for help.

I just want to say thank you for giving me the kick I needed to sort out my own situation. Things have slid pretty much since covid and being at home all the time, I live in a tiny little flat, and whilst it wasn't on the kind of level of these places, clutter had just accumulated everywhere and it was getting me down being surrounded by it all the time. I figured if you can transform these places in a couple of days, I have no excuse. This weekend was the weekend and I have literally just finished. Everything has either been put away or thrown away if it served no purpose. As of right now, I am clutter free and squeaky clean! I feel on top of the world! Going to put up Christmas decorations tomorrow as haven't had the inclination to do that the last couple of years, or really had the space and looking forward to a proper cosy Christmas. So much less plastic would end up in the seas if people cared a bit more and this would be a thing elsewhere as well. I recycle biowaste, cardboard, paper, metal, glass etc. but nowadays also plastic since it became possible. I think I'm just doing the bare minimum but there are backwards people who just throw everything to the burnable waste.

Thank you for posting your videos. Sorry, this is long. I have really severe PTSD, depression, anxiety, and OCD and my home is getting extra out of control especially since this summer when I had three traumatic events happen in under two months (covid, almost dying from bad appendicitis, and a home invader). No one visited me after surgery because of the clutter so it got worse and one of my cats started getting behavioral problems. Two weeks ago, I got cleaning supplies that you recommended. It's very slow going because cleaning itself is a very bad trigger due to an event in my past, but I'm now feeling like I can stop my home from getting worse. My husband (who works 6 days/week) has done two trips to Ikea on his day off to help get better furniture so we can be more organized and is really supportive. My cats are also way happier. My favorite tip was the squeegie for the cat hair--I was shocked at how much better it worked than the expensive cat hair cleaners we had. I used it on the carpets too. I'm going to use oven cleaner on the floor for the first time because spirit gum spilled and sealed on it. (I'm very nervous about this but I feel like I can do it). I got a scrub mommy set and that paste, a scraper, and I got stick on spice organizers and have two leftover for other things, and a new smaller bathroom cabinet. I also got a container to put in the dishwasher tablets so it'd be organized and we'd know how much we have left. My home still looks absolutely terrible and I hope you maybe post some videos about organization (maybe furniture recommendations as well or container recommendations that people might not consider), but thank you for what you've already done already.

I used to struggle with organising stuff. Even though I feel the need to be always organised, I would draw a blank when I tried to start a new area. What helped was sending a photo to a friend who was naturally organised and asking for her ideas. Maybe you could find someone online, willing to be your organisation fairy? Usually she would send me photos of something she did or something online or just say 'nope, get rid of that'. I think she enjoyed the photos I sent when I got finished. Over time I got more confidence and stopped asking for advice all the time.

I'm only 32, and I had to lose all of my teeth last year. 3 pregnancies, a calcium deficiency (my teeth constantly broke), an addiction to ice, different medications my doctor prescribed me to try and fix my migraines, and not visiting the dentist enough in my adult years, no matter how much I brushed and tried to care for them, it all resulted in them just not existing anymore. It was easier to get them all removed than to have them break out one by one over years. I had one dentist, when I went to see about getting them fixed instead of removed, ask if I was a drug addict. When I said No, they said "okay, well, we can't help you if you're going to lie about it". I didn't go back. I didn't go back to any dentist for 6 years, and that contributed to them getting worse.

When I came home I showed my other daughter (who has also learned about their cult status from TikTok) and she was all "ooohhh!" as well. It was a fun bonding moment. :) I always wonder this, do you braid your own hair? It's always fantastically neat and absolutely gorgeous. I can do a passable braid on other people but it's slow and not practical for every day, and I certainly couldn't do it on my own hair. In this video I was noticing both you and your friend have such beautiful braids.

I think all people with disabilities should have a little help maintaining things. Like even once a month just someone to come help and talk with them.

💡It would be wiser to spend the money on a thin mattress suitable for that type of bed, and wash the duvet and pillow! But for that, the first task would be to check the state of the bed! But I keep saying :Bravo Aurikatariina and her beautiful helpers! 😘

One thing that makes me happy is…when I see Auri drop a new video! 😀 Also, when I clean and organize; it’s amazing when I solve a problem of clutter or re-purpose something in my home. My cat snuggles with me and we watch Auri’s videos. 🐈‍⬛🐱 I use Auri’s fold technique at home and at work . 😊💖🌸🧼🫧🧽🧹🧺

I've been needing to deep clean my fridge for a few weeks now and I always say tomorrow. Well tomorrow wasn't coming. I have been a faithful follower of your videos for quite some time. I decided to put one of your videos on and just grabbed my rubber gloves and hot soapy water. Your positivity and energy is so refreshing. It's like hanging out with an encouraging friend who truly wants the best for you. My fridge is now sparkling clean and smells amazing. Thank you for that little push I needed. I learn so much from your videos ❤

hi Auri, I am from Turin, Italy. I love your videos, I wait for them every week with joy and every time I have fun and learn new techniques! I've always been a very tidy and clean person, then I became a convinced minimalist and now that I've started following your advice my cleaning routine is short, effective and long lasting! Sometimes I talk about you to my husband and colleagues and friends, and sometimes I start sentences with "as Auri Katariina says..." heheh funny, isn't it? In short, I want to say THANK YOU and leave you a big kiss and a hug!!

I have watched a lot of Auri’s videos, but I have to admit the worse the mess is, the more trashes, the more enthralled I am with the video. Thank you for your kindness, it not only helps them but inspires me to take care of my own home ❤️ I often times find myself cleaning with you!

Wow, what an amazing before and after! I'm from the US and am learning a lot from your videos about cleaning, plus it's so nice to see you helping people in need. Also, you asked what brings us joy- crafting brings me joy, like cross stitching and embroidery. I find it very relaxing.

Greetings from NYC, USA! I love watching your videos each week. After watching each week, I am inspired to clean my home with a renewed enthusiasm. I love to clean my home each week and keep a fairly clean home by doing a clean and sanitize each weekend. I am in my early 60s and still work full time and by Friday I am tired and worn out from working in a daycare with little ones. I watch your videos to re-energize and do my weekly upkeep of my home with joy, pride and a sense of accomplishment. Thank you for all you do.

You go super woman. I admire you! You are in your early sixties and you work in a day care. I also love to clean my apartment each week myself. Watching her videos motivates me as well. She has inspired me to clean and organize my messy and cluttered closet!🤗

I have fell into a sort of depression that has crippled my ability to keep my home clean & organized. I understand this lady's state of mind very well. I really wish you could come to my home & help me. But you would probably be disappointed since my home is still fairly clean, just real unorganized. I am trying to get a handle on it. Watching others that suffer as I do helps so much. Love you

Okay is there anything that freaks you out? It's obvious cleaning real disgusting things is a joy for you. For me- that's a panic attack waiting to happen. What freaks you out? Needles? Snakes? Heights? Or are you superhuman and fearless about everything? (These are amazing and inspiring and the reason I started keeping my home more livable so thank you.)

My sister gags when she tries to get hair out of a drain. My brother gags when he sees heavily molded food or a “jellyfish” in an old bottled drink. I gag when I have poured soup into a plastic bag to throw it out and now it looks like a bag of vomit. Everyone has their own thing that they cannot stand and it amazes me to watch Auri because she seems to do all of them effortlessly lol

This year I worked on a few fears of mine and overcame my fear of needles and dentists and I also farely recently overcame my fear of the dark and now the only fear that is bothering me I still have, is my fear of spiders and I’m also working on that!! I learned facing my fear is the key and figuring out first hand that it isn’t what i thought it was I also had a fear of the doctor when they have to do the check downstairs ya know, I overcame that too! I’m soo proud
