    @@zarabbbquick pickling (this video) is not the same as fermentation which is a slow process. Results can be similar and fermentation does produce things like *vinegar* and alcohol, just like in the quick picking video the veggies are boiled in vinegar. Both have vinegar and both taste sour. I suggest finding a short video on the topic of quick pickling vs fermenting

    A family member has diabetes and doesn't consume carrots because they have too much fructose. But he does drink water with vinegar on an empty stomach and managed to lower his blood sugar a lot.

    I use avocado oil and apple cider vinegar as a dressing (maybe small amount of mayo). It just makes me feel better, and tastes great,too. They even now have mayo made with avocado oil!

    ​@@aakankshagupta7899OP is probably referring to the keto one, Primal Kitchen, but it's pricey for what it is. Kraft and Hellman's make an avocado oil version of their mayonnaise though. You can find both of them at Walmart and Target. 😊

    @@Idi2704 Most recipes are the sweet variety, but I opted to stay in the dill/garlic category with traditional mustard seed peppercorn brine. Pinching pennies and just couldn’t waste all that beautiful thick, dense rind. Try it! Just a simple refrigerator pickle method.

    I tried 🍉rind quick pickle.water vinegar and tsp sugar.. with pickle seasoning .watermelon rind.. without the green...sliced thin. popped into a couplr jars. . and also cooking the rest in for 5 min in vinegar water ..mostly water.. little srirachs and lemon then drizzled with sesame oil and ate as a crunchy salad

    I hated the watermelon. Russian people eat that and they say it should be the white watermelon part preferably. I guess it's a poor substitute for the cucumber 😅 Some people love picked cherry tomatoes though.

    VINEGAR DOES NOT BURN IF YOU MIX 30ml WITH A GLASS OF WATER 240ml... and if you add a little bit of lemon and stevia you will have a delicious healthy detoxifying hot or cold beverage!! 😋😋😋 that also prevents sugar spikes if you drink it about 30 minutes before meals. I don't have time to pickle veggies and I don't have those special jars 😊

    A savoury breakfast .A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of water before a meal, a salad before dinner. These apparently help with sugar spikes. Caution with the vinegar if your ulcers.

    A healthy snack from childhood: slice an onion, separate into rings, drop into a bowl of vinegar, add a pinch of salt. You get that vinegar, plus onions (an easier source of vitamin C to digest than citrus). The vinegar facilitates the digestion of raw onions, and there's no pickling process necessary.

    I do too, except I use unfiltered red wine vinegar, for me it gives it a tang taste. I use it in rice & pasta before I add anything else to both. ps: not to disregard your valuable info, but I simply love that bottle. Can you tell me where you purchased it? Please.. thxs in advance.

    Onions! The nutrients in them become more bioavailable (which means you absorb more of them) and they lose the bitter edge after being pickled. Red ones in particular become very sweet and great for salad toppers.

    I put tarragon, garlic, shallots, mixed peppercorns, and sezchuan pepper 🌶 🌶🌶🌶 (use those berries sparingly) in mine. I cut the carrots into sticks because I love eating them in sushi or as a garnish with a stuffed wrap. So delicious. I do asparagus and green beans like this as well, with different seasonings. 😋 Thank you for the inspiration.😊

    Question... "healthier when cooked" 🙏 I have been wanting to find some information about what healthy foods are more nutrient absorbent to the body when they're cooked versus when they're raw. So, pickling is considered "cooking", and is that also part of the fermentation process?? I really need to find some more infor about both processes, how to properly do it depending on the food, what the benefits are, how to use them, etc etc etc.... 😅
