I have an impact B2 series head and back in the day I bought the 4x10 cab.. about a year ago I bought a GK 4x10 and 1x15 set.. when I started playing on my heart a huge difference because it didn't have a horn. I didn't realize till after the purchase. So I would play all three cabinets together but it was just a lot to have that much cabinet being set up. My whole life I wanted an Ampeg 8x10 cab.. today I found one on Facebook for $550 so I ran out and grabbed it brought it home and finally got it into the house being as heavy as it was. As soon as I plugged it in I then realized that it did not have a horn! I assumed it had a horn because my cheaper B Series has a horn and the Ampeg classic does not! So now I'm at the point where I just I'm going to cut the damn thing open and add a horn to it. So I'm doing research on KZread right now to see what I can find

I feel like I'd be good friends with this guy except I've sworn off cab building due to consuming floor space in my small flat. Also Faital Pro have some interesting drivers out now. One a 12" with flat extension to 5 kHz and 8mm of linear Xmax. I wish I could remember the model name. I found it when I was looking up the Eminence Legend B102 with whizzer cone's suitability for bass guitar. I assume the 12XN550 isn't commercially available (unless you blow a woofer on a cab) but combining the excursion of a Eminence 3012LF without dulling the midrange compared to a 3012HO (which still has 6mm linear Xmax so not too shabby if you're not blaring your low B)

Would the old logo badge still fit with the tweeter or will it cover it? I'm considering a Two10st to go with my current Two10s but would like them to match.

Sounds great but not as good as my new BB3.

You need to really consider making the two10 in an 8 ohm version, l assume loads of people will like the option to pair another two10 and get it to 4ohms for those loud amplifiers

With one cab you have 4 or 12 ohms (to get max power out of smaller cabs or to restrain the power of big amps), with two cabs you have 6 ohms (which gets you so close to 4 ohm amp loudness that you probably can’t tell the difference - especially as it’ll ensure the amp voltage clips rather than running out of current, which sounds worse), and with three cabs you get 4 ohms as a modular 6x10” to blow everyone off the stage. But if there was a marketing department here, rather than this engineer in charge, they’d insist on an 8 ohm version because it’s possibly an easier sell! 😉

@@BarefacedAudio makes sense, wouldn’t you have to use an 8ohm impedance on the amp to make the cabs work at 6ohm? or would it be 4ohms on the amp ?

Are you referring to valve or solidstate amps?

A solidstate amp just puts out the voltage that the input level and amp gain equates to and the current delivered equals that voltage divided by the impedance. And then the power you get is the product of voltage and current.
