Great video Nate👊 By the way one of the three lovers plays with a band called Yoth Iria, check them out if you haven't already...keep doing good stuff🇬🇷
a decade a go I would have been surprised to hear this from you but now I'm just glad. Rotting Christ got me into that scene, too, with Non Serviam
The first three Rotting Christ albums are absolute masterpieces but Triarchy is next level good. One of the best albums ever created. I absolutely love that record.
Abuse was fn amazing.
Speaking of New Orleans, good old heavyweights Exhorder are about to release a new album soon.. 🤘 ...and the latest Varathron album really surprised me in a positive way! Cool cover artwork too.. 👌
Nate, have you heard Insomnium’s track ‘White Christ’ that features Sakis Tolis? It’s on Insomnium’s latest album ‘Anno 1696’. One of the weakest tracks on the album in my opinion but still great. Pallbearer is definitely up there for me too! Such an incredible sound those guys have brought into this world. They definitely tap into that magical/psychic energy you mention occasionally, if such a thing indeed exists. When I first discovered them (around 2018) with Foundations of Burden I was living in Nashville. Occasionally if I had nothing to do I would view the calendar for local venues and see if anyone noteworthy was playing so I could go enjoy. Pallbearer popped up for a show at Exit/In and I hadn’t previously heard of them. Sampled some of their stuff quickly on Spotify or wherever and quickly determined it was good enough, lol. What ensued after that show in the coming couple of years was me jumping in my car to go see them live all over the south east. Even went up as far as Champaign, IL for a show. Probably saw those guys 10 times in a 2 year span. Got to hang out with them after shows at the venues on a couple of occasions. Yeah, I’ll jock that band til I die.
Man, I've been trying to find an album for the last few days. It was quite a few years ago (early Spirit Adrift) Nate had an interview where he mentioned this progressive sludge band (I think they were southern), and I can't for the fuckin' life of me find it. I know the vague description definitely isn't helping. It was really heavy, intense, and was more emotive than most music in this vein.

@@BornTooNate Shit, that's it! Thanks, man.
Mr. Garrett I’d like to ask you a small favor. I was never able to get into Black or Death metal and it usually takes a great record or two to win me over (if it’s ever going to happen). Could you rattle off a few of your faves. I’d appreciate it.

New Rotting Christ album cover is the same as The Black's " The Priests of Satan" from '94 🤔

@DrTabarnak yeap. Actually there is a lot of bands that used the same painting. It's a masterpiece.
