    Nate, I want to say on behalf of listeners and metalheads around. That as long as you keep making episodes on this podcast, we'll keep watching/listening. You come off as a very down to Earth guy, someone who can just chill out and go to a show with. Shoot the shit about favorite bands, drum sounds, and riffs. Fair enough re nu metal, for the most.part I wholeheartedly agree, it's terrible on the whole. However, and I am not saying I endorse this at all, but. often I see Deftones lumped into this god forsaken genre, and to some extent System of a Down. Admittedly, I am more defensive of Deftones than SOAD, but still think they don't deserve to get lumped in there, thoughts? Also, hoping your injuries mend soon, bro!

  • @BornTooNate
    @BornTooNate2 күн бұрын

    I never got into Deftones, saw em once and hated it. But they’re definitely not as deplorable as nu metal. SOAD I feel similarly, their first record is incredible for what it is. Really unique, creative, meaningful stuff even if it’s not my exact cup of tea.

  • @soulslot5369

    @@BornTooNate Personal taste is a funny thing, personally, Deftones has always been one of my faves so I hate when they get lumped into numetal, ironically it was me lumping them in there sort of, but that is an annoying tricky thing about genre talk, i kinda hate it tends to make miscommunication inevitable, when everyone is defining their terms slightly differently. It's all good of course that you don't like em -absurd i should even feel the need to type that , ha!) you're still a badass in my book and. we share a helluva lot more commonalities in taste than not it seems, was just curious if you had also lumped them into that garbage bin genre. Will content myself thinking you dislike them for other reasons What makes the world go around and what not, onward!

    Good ole trash metal from my home town of Corpitos. I first heard about them when I saw them opening up for Anthrax and Helstar. And was totally blown away. Never missed a local show every time they played. Never knew Rodney personally but after every show I would go shake his hand and throw up metal horns and congratulate him on a kick ass show or when I would see him at other shows or the mall. Would always ask him when are they gonna jam again. Real cool dude. It would be awesome to see a reunion one day. I'll definitely won't miss that show 🤘🤘

    Just saw midnight at abq launchpad. Remember them saying someone stole one of the iron professers mask. It felt like an honor to give him mine. Turns out the guy who stole it turned it in and i got my mask back. In return the professor gave me some drumsticks. Ive been listening to midnight for years and as a huge fan of them to have that happen and me to offer mine was the highlight of the night for me. I wanted to get athenar autograph at the end of the show but he had some groupies basically swallowing him 😆 so i couldnt get it. I wasnt mad though. Cause i know ill see him next time midnight comes down amazing band with a rotten sound. Dudes kill it everytime i see them.
