Had a similar idea lmao, dude just hides under the freeway and then the people in the benz also happened to steal it and see the cops coming for the Audi but then they take off causing a huge misdirect that lets the first guy go free lmao. Even though it is unlikely it sounds just as possible as the car switching under the freeway was to Charlie haha

It had nothing to do with the similarities of the car. The cop pulled up under the overpass and they sped out in the Mercedes, meanwhile there’s an empty Audi. The cop didn’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure that one out. Do y’all think that the cops are going after every dark sedan they come across every time they lose sight of the guy? They’re not in a helicopter, they can clearly see what kind of car he’s in AND the plate numbers.

@@scottm7079 I think they were banking more on the cops not being just that close too, because that cop that sped up really came out of nowhere, so they wanted to get away in a brand new car to possibly lose track of them long enough to get away. It didn't matter if they found the empty car, as long as they were far enough away that no one thought to follow the Mercedes in time.

it could have worked if they had a completely different looking car, the cops weren't within eyesight of them swapping cars and driving off, and if they drove off normally not in an equally insane manner as they drove in. Basically the plan wasn't technically the worst but it's possibly the worst execution they could have possibly done

Maybe they ran out of fuel, not everyone maxes out their tank in anticipation of it getting stolen and used in a lengthy car chase. So the argument that they're stupid because they jumped into a similar vehicle is itself stupid

I think it's hilarious because the chasey will try to swerve in and out of slow traffic and pull all these moves. And the Police will just follow them effortlessly. Because traffic is so slow.😂

I noticed immediately that they hopped in a different car, not only cause it happened underneath the overpass, but I'm just overly obsessed with cars.

Blew my fkin mind, i thought it was the same audio but then when it zoomed in you could totally see it was a different car. Wacky, that was fast. Also yeah you can see the badges on the car before and after as well, besides the body of the car. Insane though, they do look so similar from a helicopter it really threw me for a mindfuck

you can just look at the front of the car to see the different logo. on the original video just search around the 9 minute mark to see the audi logo with the circles, and then later on, after the reporter points out that the car changed, there is a shot of the front and the logo is no longer an audi logo, so yes it literally changed

Charlie what they did under the the bridge / overpass, is a common tactic in LA. So if you're committed harsh crime attempted Murder. Your crew / Gang takes the Heat. Both vehicles pull under the bridge the Audi Pulls Over Stays in Vehicle. The Mercedes Benz Drives off getting the Attention of the Police / Sheriff. After the Mercedes Benz suspect's Jump out and run. Later the Court lawyer helps the 4 or 5 Suspect's get off the Charges or lower Charges because they were Not The Original Suspect in the Audi. Long story Short the Original Suspect had his Gang / Crew take the Fall .. then their lawyer's argue in Court that the Mercedes Benz Suspects ran when they Saw the Police / Sheriff's, but in No way where Affiliated with the Other vehicle and that the Police / Sheriff's chased down the wrong Vehicle. The original suspect attempted Murder Suspects gets away by staying in the Audi. After the Police / Sheriff's chased the Mercedes Benz the Audi Driver either exited the Audi or even May Have Driven away.

It annoys me how confidently wrong Charlie is. The car was 100% an Audi at the start. It looked like an A4/S4 but it could have been an A6/S6, either way it was an Audi. Later, the guy is an a Mercedes-Benz. We see the Mercedes badge and the distinct Mercedes grill. Charlie then says it can't be a different car because the suspect wouldn't have had time to hotwire a car. Why would that even be an option? There aren't parked cars to hotwire under an overpass like that. He carjacked someone. Then Charlie says he can't have carjacked someone because there would be a victim who would say they've been carjacked. No shit, but they're saying that to the police, not the fucking news helicopter.

Yeah I was thinking the same exact thing, I was surprised Charlie didn't even suggest that they might've carjacked somebody. I thought it was funny when he was talking about hotwiring and he said "That's 100% the same car" but I noticed the different design almost immediately and the fact this happened underneath an overpass, they probably carjacked somebody. This was like Game Grumps level of frustrating to watch, the Audi logo and Mercedes logo are SUPER different, it was so obviously a different car. Considering silver rims, dark color, and a sunroof are the most common features in a sedan, you can't use that as evidence they're the same car.

I love Charlie, but goddamn his takes are off sometimes. He had an Audi at the start, you could see the emblem on the front fender. By the 24m mark, it's a Mercedes logo.
