Heavy duty rescue by the port of Los Angeles - tractor with container rollover

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Heavy duty rescue by the port of Los Angeles - tractor with container rollover. Pepe's Tow back with yet another heavy duty rollover! If this location looks familiar, it's because this is a hot spot for these container rollovers. Specifically, Harry Bridges onramp to the 110 freeway. We received this call from the California Highway Patrol, and I responded with Hulk, my 50ton rotator. I was joined by Dave in Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, and Hector in our 50-ton wrecker.
Nothing out of the ordinary compared to most of my other rollover videos. Quick and efficient, with luckily no need to correct the load after. We even set the container back on to the customer's new tractor so they can finish the delivery. All in all another great job, hope you guys enjoyed! If you did, subscribe so you can see all future videos.

Josh, you have 2 good qualities that are Almost Required to do an excellent job in your line of work: 1.) The ability to think on your feet. 2.) The ability to think outside of the box Personally, I believe your dad instilled these qualities in you.

Old skool!! Honestly I like the go-pro style videos more. I feel like we get to see/ hear your decisions and details more. The other one is more polished but this is just you and the work and all the nitty gritty be that goes with it. And the new Sony Fx3 captures great video! Anyways thanks for sharing another day at the office.

You make this kind of work look like NADA by having all that heavy metal. When I think about those guys on TV from British Columbia who'd be doing this with a 30 ton long hauler, a 1 ton and a flat deck or something, I just shake my head. The right tools for the job, eh?

And Hector just keeps going, always in the picture. Why is it that if a load is in a container it doesn’t need any tie-downs? Well I suspect that it’s good for business costs. There have been a few containers where unsecured loads have shifted in the container and rolled a truck, very dangerous and costly. If these loads were on a flatbed the load would be tied down, I assume so they don't fall off and kill someone. Instead we get an unsecured load in a container and when it rolls over could kill a car full with passengers. Maybe unsecured loads on a flatbed would be safer then unsecured loads in a container. Just a thought.

It seems like California has the highest percentage of container rollovers of any other state. Seems like every other video on this channel is a container rollover. I know that California has a fair amount of ports for boats loaded with containers to load/unload at but it just seems like whoever is loading them rarely secures a load and whoever is driving the trucks transporting them love to take corners ridiculously fast!

Seems like you guys do a lot of container flip overs. Even in New Jersey I've seen container trucks flipped over. It seems like these guys are you either in a hurry or they overload the hell out of them. I was always told you never drive too fast on the exits, and it always seems that's where everybody thinks they can keep their speed up. I never lost a truck in the corner like that

You do know these are air brakes right? They're spring loaded; once set they aren't moving. And the red glad hand is removed to release all air. Once the air is released it's impossible to move. On top of that, where could it go considering two rotators are literally holding it? Even if it was free and neutral nothing would happen.

Love your work sir. But California which dictates to the world what we should drive can't even operate a safe industrial transportation system!! Container roll overs seem to be a regular job for your business. No problem with that. But why do you have so many in LA. Drivers who speed around corners. Loads that aren't in place properly seem to be the order of the day. I guess all this is paid for by "insurance" companies who obviously load up the bill for your average insurer.
