Its a thermal fuse. Not specified by amperage, but temperature. Usually they can handle 10amp no problem. I.e. 2400W @ 240Vac Temperature should be selected not to melt the housing shell around 80°C. They only come in to action if the airflow is restricted. Also used in coffee machines and some vacuum cleaners and other appliances generating heat.

The problem is finding them. Yes you can take them off those machines, if you have one laying around, for a $30 heat gun. I couldn’t find those resistors anywhere online.

They are called thermal fuses, you can find them all over the internet.

They look and feel solidly made but they fail within a week of normal use. I just go buy a new one and put old in box and return this is the 5th one I have had. One day it will just turn off then never turn back on again.

Yeah i use to take them back , but Home Depot will not take them back after 30 days unless you buy there extended warranty

I am not trying to perpetuate dishonesty as it's not really stealing anything but if it goes out again, just go buy a new one, keep the receipt and if the broken one still looks new (wipe it with damp cloth and a little baking soda to get any marks off) then just put the broken one back in the box and return with receipt a day later. Its same model and everything and it gets sent back to Wagner anyway. I do this because they kept breaking and that is not right at all...just a suggestion!!@@raiderman28

Those heat gun are chunk. I burnt one every month or 2. The old versions are the best. Same as the Milwaukee. The new versions are chunk too.
