Heat affected koala holds my husbands hand

The incredible moment a koala reached and held my husbands hand, in the middle of the hottest day on record in South Australia 24/1/2019.
This was NOT filmed during terrible fires but in the middle of Australian heatwave!
Temperatures soured on this Thursday in January. After a long day my husband rounded the last bend before reaching our gate and there he saw a very lethargic Koala sitting on the side of the road. Watch as we do all we can to help this little one gain enough strength to be able to move to safety.
* Please note the water is allowed to trickle out, we do not cause risk of aspiration.
Facing drought with a river system in chaos and not enough native eucalyptus trees to get their natural moisture source from this sweet little koala drank from a water bottle while we were doing our best to encourage it to move toward the sink we provided so it could cool its paws in the water.

    ThoughtCrime stop spreading disinformation. We’ve had many cases of arsonists lighting fires but the major damage has been caused by the massive build up of forestry fuel due to councils and governments not back burning the lands as the Aboriginal people would do. Australians were learning to take care of the land years ago but recent years of “green” interference and stupidity has now caused the loss of human life, property, forests, vegetation, infrastructure, water and huge numbers of our unique wildlife which they claim to want to protect not to mention the widespread pollution across vast distances due to smoke. Time to bring in the Aboriginal people, ask for their expertise and let them show everyone how to maintain the country properly with minimal impact.

    Do Koalas hold each other's hands? The answer is no. So do you think that koalas are on par with dolphins that it could somehow mimic human gestures after cleverly piecing together that primates hold hands to show affection?? The answer is impossible due to how smooth and small their brains are and the fact they are nowhere near that level. Likely it was latching on so it can continue to get treated.

  • @Elisa-iq1pm

    @Elisa-iq1pm

    Жыл бұрын

    @@maaz322 yeah but if this koala has been around a lot of human tourists then It probably learned a bit of human body language over the years. Koalas may be the most unintelligent mammal but social interactions is a learned skill, it’s not innate. If it wanted the water and only the water so bad then it would’ve grabbed on to the hand that had the bottle in the first place or maybe even have a tantrum like most other koalas do when they don’t get their way.

    @@toddhoward5555 I agree with your sentiment. Why do so many people ascribe human traits to animals? They are "hard-wired" in that they do not make conscious decisions - they react in set ways to a range of conditions and events.

    @Anne Phair I simply digressed in the last sentence, to juxtapose observation with reality when it comes to perception of other humans, not animals. And yes this is pretty cute which is why I clicked heh. Just I hate the idea of "we should be like *random animal name*! We could learn a lot from it". Of course it could be said in jest or something, in which case this whole discussion is silly.

    In Athens,Greece, my wife and me were suddenly aware that a large dog had been following us for a bit. There are so many street dogs and cats in Athens. He must have spotted our bottles of water. We stopped and I cupped my hands while my wife poured the water into them and the dog drank. We soon finished the bottle so we opened the other one and he almost finished that one too. We gave him a few strokes on the head and some gentle words. I wouldn’t usually have went near foreign dogs incase they had rabies or something but obviously, this dog didn’t have hydrophobia so he was ok and he looked so desperately thirsty, we couldn’t just walk on. I’ll never forget him walking away then stopping to look back at us as if to say thanks. An old, stooped lady walked past us as we sat on a park bench, and she carried a bag of scrap food she collected for the dogs and cats. What a precious, kind old soul.

    Most are tbh it just the news and everything likes to show you that the little people have no regards. Should see what the people in power have done to the animal kingdom, nothing good and then blame the little people who have no power over if animals are culled or not, used for furs (royal guard hats anyone) etc. People need to realise this, am not saying some of the little people dont do this but what am saying is its made to happen because those that should govern and help the people understand are themselves killing the animals off or making sure we the little people dont have the pleasure of their company. They have made our world so small people dont realise this at all. How can people begin to understand the animal kingdom when we are not allowed to go near them and be curious. Dont give me the narrative of people abuse because theres so many more thats dont and that they have made people worry over that to the extent that we don't let eachothet live and learn. If that makes any sense x

Now, as i know, can be not even accessed by those underage so imagine how it is. From the first images can be seen the fear in the eyes of those beings named animals. Who can eat meat, to eat. I do not condemn no one. I stopped to eat meat ( because of pity for the animals and not by some imposed religious doctrine) @ three years before seeing those few seconds from the beginning of this video. I really couldn't watch that video. Exists also videos from PETA and exists videos about what is happening in dairy industry too ( i still drink yogurt). It's horrible. May the Heavenly Father in His goodness forgive us and may help us but to help also His creatures named animals, which was them too created by Him, initially as friends of Adam and Eve and not as food for Adam and Eve. Now, animals are eaten also because of the alteration of human being, a sinful nature instead of a divine nature as it was at the beginning. Yes, Yahsua- Jesus was on Earth and ate meat, but to not forget that He was on Earth as God and also as man, therefore, that's why He ate meat ( but pay attention people, He didn't ate pork meat but sent the legion into those poor beings which according to the Old Testament are considered unclean meat) Blessings to all of you, may the Almighty Heavenly Father forgive us and help and protect us in these scriptural end times.
