i thought the cute similarity was purely coincidental, but i was really delighted to learn the other day that seals are actually related to dogs. they're canivora, and a split off the doggy branch. bit more closely related to bears though, I read.

@@blond009 its bad for you and for the wild animal as well. As adorable as this lil guy is you have no idea if it could have some sorta illness that can be passed to humans. Qlso if you become to friendly with a wild animal it can cause it to become dependent on humans or just to trustworthy of them which could lead to its death. Admire wild animals from afar and if a wild animal does approach you, let it get its sniff on and then let it be on its way

Crazy thing is the boot the baby seal put in his mouth could of been his hand and instead of his hand the baby seal bit his boot and couldn't bite hard enough to do anything to it and gave up lol but if that was his hand or something it could've gone different tbh, it's like playing Russian roulette

The only thing I wouldn't pet is frogs and certain amphibians. I've recently learned that the oils on our skin and soap residue can cause them pain and make them sick. Which makes me feel bad for all the frogs I picked up as a kid,
