When we experienced a child who has left the Church, we just have to keep praying for her conversion. On our parts, we just keep loving and supporting her. By doing so, we feel that we are showing God's love to her through us. Love will triumph and all will be well. Jesus is always pursuing the stray away, so we have faith and trust in God's grace and timing for bringing the conversion. Jesus is the Victor and He is in Charge in our lives. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ!!!!

As a convert from another religion, through all these years of prayers, reflection, sacraments, adoration, listening to podcasts from Bishop Robert Barron...etc I find that few points worth to share as what we mean by encounter the Lord. I find that spending time to pray is so crucial...talk to God, speak to Him through music, behaviour and actions of people, divine office and rosary and Eucharist adoration...they help me to acquire a 'sensitive heart to God, interestingly can sense God. His presence in things, pleasant or unpleasant...so everything helps. I find that is the disappointment of the worldly happiness that sets me anchor on God. If that is not the basis..it is tough because there is always an alternative out there (other than God), be it wealth, good health, relationship, fame...etc we still persist they can make us fulfilled and complete then God is always just 'recreational

Not to discourage any efforts of this good conversations. These conversations are represented by what seems to be a very educated and what seems middle to probably elite social class (apologies for lack of a better sentence) of representatives by the church. Nothing wrong, but there are many voiceless persons in the church such as the family with special needs; families who are not “educated” and conversant; the migrants; the mandarin speaking; mental recovering patients; the divorcee; the single parent; the poor; the catholic who stands outside the church; the list goes on. Their reasons are probably more compelling why they are not there in the first place. Of course getting these voices and their reasons to be non participative are harder to gather existentially, but aren’t them part of the church as well? Didn’t the Kenosis of Christ went or still going to the lowest of society as well besides the poor in spirit? Case in point: The simple catholic family who struggles with meritocracy, financially and in a 2 room flat, 3 room flat, take the bus to church, feel out of place in the church. How would they want to be part of a church where it represents or seems catering to mostly the middle class to the elites?
