Heart, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Alone (Live)

Heart Live At The Royal Albert Hall - released 25th November 2016.
DVD - smarturl.it/HEARTRAHDVD
Blu Ray - smarturl.it/HEARTRAHBR
CD - smarturl.it/HEARTRAHCD
In a career spanning over 40 years it seems inconceivable that they have never performed at London’s most famous venue The Royal Albert Hall. That changed in June 2016 as the band appeared with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra adding some a classical vibe to hits like These Dreams, Alone and What about Love, they also reinvented old favourites like Dreamboat Annie and Magic Man while rocking the house to the rafters with Crazy on You and Barracuda. This very special show was most certainly not just nostalgia as the band and their extra 68 backing musicians also played tracks from their 16th album Beautiful Broken.
Music video by Heart, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing Alone. (C) 2016 Heart General Partnership, under exclusive license to Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd.

I am listening to it in 2021.Blows most modern contemporary crap out of the water! 1984 and 1985.First heard Heart as a 4-5yo.Alone and These Dreams.I loved those songs hearing them on 80s radio and they helped me go to sleep as a boy who was afraid of monsters when his Mom turned the light off at night.Voices like angels singing me to sleep with a lullaby.Hearing Heart brings back many happy 80s memories.😊😎👍🤟🤟

She still belts it out… Case in point : The night she sang “Stairway to Heaven “ @ the KENNEDY CENTER in WASHINGTON D.C. ( in front off the PRESIDENT no less ) to Honor the guys of LEAD ZEPPELIN ; They were all up in the balcony watching with very approving faces. , it was stunning… I thought JIMMIE PAGES SMILE was going freeze on his face😅… Hell , she even had JASON BONAM the original drummers son up there on DRUMS giving them the beat 🥲❗️ OK OK I’m 72 1/2 and i’m sentimental old softie ✌️ 🥲 👍

It’s amazing to me to see how completely enraptured the audience is during this song. It’s one thing to sing the song well, but quite another to hold an audience spellbound, and hanging on every note, as they are in this video. There aren’t many singers that can do it the way Ann Wilson can with this song. If any singer has ever “owned” a song they didn’t write, Ann Wilson owns Alone.

The scream is one of the great moments in female rock. Ann is a rock goddess. And Nancy is just so beautiful and such a great musician.

Interesting you'd like a scream. The trend in music is for singers to be losing their voice by 30, kids following closely, because of voice straining vocal trends.

It’s not a scream...it’s known as the note.
Just say “Heart” and I’m there in a heartbeat. Ann’s voice has gotten better with age like a fine wine. Great breath control and phrasing. Ann’s instrument is in tune and intact.
Amazing that she can still CONVINCINGLY get up there. Not maybe kinda getting up there. No, she gets there. Amazing voice.

Just saw them less than two weeks ago (October 2019) and they were AMAZING. How do you get better with age is what I'm thinking? Ann's voice has gotten deeper over time and it's incredibly strong. Then Nancy bouncing around playing all the guitar and doing her famous Nancy kicks-- I'm still thinking about it!

Yeahhh still very good, but her voice is far from as strong as ever. Based on how it sounds, she was probably just naturally falling into some of the techniques that gave her such a great voice, but likely had no coach or a poor coach to teach her how to sing how she did while preserving it. This is the voice of someone who spent a couple decades belting it 24/7 but found out too late what damage that could do. A lot of quality rock singers from the 70s and 80s are like that now, back then you couldn't find many vocal coaches outside of opera who knew how to handle voices like theirs with the sounds they wanted to make so a lot of rock singers pushed their voices to the limit for amazing vocals and 20-30 years later they can carry a tune and have a decent voice but sound like they picked up a pack a day smoking habit for about 15 years somewhere.

Ann is a VOCAL PHENOM and still is...!!! She has done a MARVELOUS job of preserving her voice over the years. Not something a lot of singers can truthfully say the same. And i'm a singer myself so i have an ear for this sort of thing folks. She truly is unbelievable.
Makes me tear up every time I hear her voice.
