HEALTHY PAZHAM PORI | Pazham Pori | Pazham Pori with wheat flour | Ethakka appam | നാടൻ പഴം പൊരി | പഴം പൊരി | ഹെൽത്തി പഴംപൊരി |
Pazham Pori / Ethakka Appam is a popular snack from Kerala made with ripe bananas. The bananas used to prepare Pazham Pori are Nendran Pazham which is highly nutritious and a good source of potassium and vitamins A & C. Pazham Pori is a quintessential Malayali snack which is available in streets as well as restaurants. Pazham Pori / Ethakka Appam is often fried in most of the homes and relished by all along with a cup of steaming tea or coffee.
The Pazham Pori recipe shown here is a healthier version of what we get outside. Usually, people use maida, baking soda, refined oil/reused oil etc which is not good for health. Since we make it every alternate day at home, I came up with this healthy Pazham Pori / Ethakka Appam recipe. It tastes yummy and healthy too! We can call this a jaggery Pazham pori too since we use jaggery for instead of sugar!
Healthy Pazham Pori / Ethakka appam
INGREDIENTS:-
BANANA (NENDRAN /KERALA)- 3-4
WHEAT FLOUR- 1CUP/250 GM
RICE FLOUR- 1 TABLESPOON
JEERA- 1/4 TEASPOON
TURMERIC POWDER- 1/2 TEASPOON
SESAME SEEDS- 1 TEASPOON
JAGGERY- 3 TABLESPOON
COCONUT OIL- ENOUGH REQUIRED FOR DEEP FRYING

All jaggery powder we get as readymade contain sulpher even if it is organic.read the ingredients and buy.marayur sharkara is better.a humble suggestion from my experience
