Healing Trauma Sleep Meditation | Mindful Movement

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Meditation, sleep meditation, mindfulness exercises, and positive affirmations can be useful tools for healing from past trauma. When we experience stress in our lives, whether it is chronic low levels of stress, or intense traumatic events, a cascade of events are triggered in our mind and body that can lead to disease. As we gain awareness of this process, we are able to practice realigning the communication between our mind and body to experience greater well-being.
What you are thinking about right before you fall asleep will set the tone for the quality of your sleep and your mindset for the next day. You have the choice to change the way you look at things. These thoughts before bed send a message to your subconscious to help you heal.
Trauma can be very serious. Please seek support from professional help if you are struggling.

That's one of the things I loved about this- was her calming, reassuring voice saying "you are safe". ❤ I am currently in the process of trying to break up with (yet another) toxic boyfriend. Childhood abusers don't realize that their acts stay with us for a lifetime. It's not just the memory we have to deal with--it changes our behaviors. Some of us grow up to be CODEPENDENT and unknowingly pick narcissistic type partners throughout our life thus leading to more trauma! 😢

It’s my favorite one to help get me back to sleep. Saying that we are safe and thanking our body is the acceptance and comfort I need to hear when my body is shaking with fear. Your message broke my heart. You poor thing, to shake with fear like that, fretting for your dear parents, I really feel for you n hope that you find the strength to get thru this n find a way to cope better. You will, don't let your precious self be taken down by anything, you have a right to your life and to live it, when one door closes another opens and you start searching for the right answers. The fear is just teaching you how to be strong, you will learn each day and one day you will walk away from it with coping skills that have prepared you to manage this. You are a warrior xxx

My mom sexually abused me when I was 5 years old . I haven’t had the courage to tell anyone and accept it until now 20 years later. I’ve started my own successful business and am currently completing my MBA, but as I’m working on my business old traumas resurface. The abuse has conditioned me to feel like I must hide and that I’m not safe for being myself. I know that it’s holding me back in my marketing and sales efforts, it’s impacting the work I do and therefore impacting my business’ potential. Thank you for sharing this as it’s helping me help others more and allowing me to move past and through blocks to achieve my dreams ❤️

In my recovery from covert narcissistic abuse, I have been blessed with so many healing tools and people. I've come a long way in the past 5 years since discovering that my husband was a covert narc. I asked him to leave shortly after. He returned after 18 months and seemed changed...but not really. After another year, my daughter self admitted into the hospital for a suicidal episode linked to his abuse, I told him I was done and told him he needed to leave for good. A year later, here we are. My internal body was shutting down because of all the stress of being hyper vigilant for 25 years. My blood pressure, blood sugar, adrenals, liver, endocrine system, digestion, etc have all been shutting down. I am a Healing bioenergetics practitioner, so I've been working hard on myself and my young adult children because of the effects from the covert abuse. But I'm so grateful for guided meditations when I feel isolated and anxious sometimes. I stumbled upon this one in particular, last night when I was experiencing physical symptoms that put my brain in overthinking mode. As the anxiety built, sleep fled. Thank you for a specific meditation addressing the effects of a traumatized brain and body. It is helpful in disarming the anxiety. Blessings!

Honey, I recommend you to read Dr David Burns. He gives good cognitive tools not to let yourself fooled by your own thoughts. What’s leading you to panic attacks is the fact that every time your body wants to release stress throughout body sensations you get scare and start thinking things that your mind perceived as a threat, danger. Let yourself feel and think “Ik fine, I can breath normally even if it feels otherwise.” Don’t get distracted. Accept and transit your anxiety. That’s the first step. “The way out is through” “What you resist, persists. What you accept, transforms itself”

@ Adorable Nurse My therapist does tele health. Can you see if your therapist can do the same? This time is definitely not the time to be going it alone. I’m not very tech savvy so I don’t exactly know how you can reach out to me but if there is and you’re so inclined I’d be honored to be of service to you. Even if it’s just listening and knowing you’re not alone 💜✨

Same for me too but I have never gone for therapy. I think that is my next step after quarantine. This has helped a lot to calm myself and not let negative emotions rule. Its teaching me to heal on my own which is powerful stuff. Add a therapist to that and it should really help.

I am a codependent who has been in an unhealthy relationship where I just have failed to set any boundaries over the years. I have therefore become absolutely powerless in this relationship but have also been unable to leave it....Listening to this meditation strengthened my resolve - to take the massive step of splitting up. Without the "acceptance " meditation I would simply not have been able to do it

It is a difficult thing to do. I'm out of a very toxic relationship myself, and piecing things back together. Meditation has been a helpful tool for me. Another thing that helped me understand a bit more about myself and my situation was a book called, 'Whole Again' by Jackson MacKenzie. Sometimes we try so hard to please and gain acceptance by other people that we erode our boundaries and our sense of self dissolves. I'm getting to know me again, and I hope you are too!

One my of mantras or self reminders is that every day I have calm, neutral or pleasant moments and I take time to appreciate them - I also accept that there will be some unpleasant or uncomfortable moments but they pass - and of course one day at a time. There is no need to expect perfection - and again I just appreciate the calm, neutral or pleasant moments. Blessings.

I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. kzread.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!

I had this video in a playlist of meditations. At night I play rain noises with Tibetan bowls. While I was sleeping without me knowing this came on. I dreamed about confronting my old school bully. I finally got to confront him and tell him how much his words and actions back then still effect me to this day. I forgave him and it was like a huge weight lifted. Then I woke up and discovered this was playing.

Last night was my first night listening to this and I had a dream this morning that I was giving meds to someone everyday and I finally said she needs to be able to take her own meds herself and I felt a sense of calmness I havent felt in so so long and I got more sleep than I have in a long time. This is the best. I had a pretty traumatic life it started in childhood and continued on into adulthood. I attracted a malignant narcissistic abusive partner who also cheated on me. I was broken after 10 years and 3 kids I feel like 100 years old, Btw, I am 38. I was diagnosed with PTSD, I have terrible anxiety and depression. I have so much pain in my body I mean I can go on. Finally, for the first time in my life, this August I am single. I knew that I wanted to heal but my body was accustomed to sickness. Thanks for this video it's like permission or an agreement to be healthy. Anyway listening to this I had the most lucid dream, I could hear your voice in the background. It was so surreal.

As I'm listening to this video I'm having the weirdest feelings/sensations all over my body. Like my breathing feels relaxed but the rest of my body feels a weird rush of Emotions, my brain feels like a fight between changing the video and keep on listening. Kind of if my anxiety is refusing to listen and leave, like if I were burning it. I don't know how to explain it. I just know that I had to open my eyes and share this with someone. It's been a rough few years and I'm very hopeful for this amazing videos to help in my journey of healing.

I feel the same way when I listen to this sometimes. It could be a lot of things. I'm starting to research it and it could be all the suppressed emotions coming to the surface now that you let your body relax. I am researching somatic healing right now and it seems it best to know those emotions will pass once you give them space and feel it. I know it's harder said then done but maybe your body is finally trying to release the emotions from your trauma. I wish the best of luck to you on your trauma journey.

I dealt with a divorce 36 years. I had PST I got through it. My sister and I got a house together and she passed away. I am dealing with the loss of my best friend. My sister and I can't believe. I miss her more than I can find words to say some days I just cannot believe that my sister is gone. I can remember when I was 3 years old she was the middle sister but her and I played together two years apart but she was the big sister as well. My best friend. I feel lost without. I know I have to accept it and move on I don't know if I will ever stop from missing her. She has been in my life I don't remember her not in my life. Sometimes I cry uncontrollable and I don't know if anyone understands not even are older sister. She was my best friend.

I have been listening to this for about a year or more and I love it. I always start it around the 2 minute mark. I've been studying trauma and how to be trauma informed. So the other night I listened to it from the beginning and I noticed or forgot about how it says trauma can cause illness and disease which most know but I was triggered by that and I just wanted to bring it to your attention in a loving way. I will still continue to listen to it as I know humming has great healing benefits of regulating the nervous system but I just thought that should be pointed out. Thank you in advance for reading!

I've spent many years searching the Word seeking God's understanding of my broken spirit. The verse you posted caused me to weep as it held a new meaning for me. Too many Christians focus on the healing of the body but, tend to overlook the mind which is easier to damage than any bone. With the healing of the mind the body will follow. Thanks.

The mind is what heals your body! The mind is the controller to your mental well being if you continue to have strong faith and follow out of sin and into righteousness you will find a sense of peace and wellbeing. If you truly want the truth, you simply need to follow the path of Jesus (the spirit of truth and knowledge)! Not many can do it or have done it but if you truly seek, you shall find the truth. You just have to be willing to accept the truth for what it is without it crushing you down. Good luck!

@@andresschilds8587 do you think it's okay to listen to this as a Christian. It's not new age right.? I'm afraid to listen to anything that might offend God but it does help me relax I was severely abused as a child physically sexually and mentally I have been through 40 Years of counseling and still have anxiety and a big problem with my self-esteem. I have body pain and when I find something to help that pain another one comes up. I wonder sometimes if this is me continuing to abused myself. do you honestly think that this would help me.stop hurting myself but more importantly is it from God. I believe God led me to this doctor he is a good man. He recommended mindfulness and it has helped me cut my medication down 60%. I have stopped taking 60% of opiates so that can't be a bad thing. I guess I need reassurance from another Christian but I'm not putting something in my mind that might be from the Dark Side. I know that sounds crazy but the enemy can make bad things look good. My sense is that it is good and that God has led me here. I really need an answer. I'm 65 but I'm still healthy and I'm starting to feel better by listening to mindful meditation. I don't want anything put in my mind that might attract something bad I think you understand. Please let me know your opinion about this. My pain doctor also quested Echo sync which are sounds that go into each ear and stimulate both sides of the brain I am afraid about this because I don't want anything put into my mind that isn't from Lord. However it has really helped me. Yet some things that are evil can be good at first and then you have bad repercussions later. I'm guessing as long as it's good it should be okay with God.? I just want to get off medication so badly. Please pray that this is the right thing for me.. I need to live again.. I need to get out of this bed and the echo sync tapes have been helping me so much.. Id really appreciate your comment

@@kiddor909gmail Whatever helps you... God has infinite ways to help/heal, to guide one to help/healing, something like this might be such; positive affirmations may be such... self-help... Not to exclude what helps. And, prayer, always ! In general "positive thinking" instead of self-depreciating... One does what one can, in order to heal; hope and faith - where God steps in and aids one, somehow, some way. True, the dark forces are all around, increasingly, nevertheless by calling on God, and the healing power of the Savior, means for healing may be provided, possibly something like this video. Also, foods' healing powers are real as well, instead of medication. All in all if one believes that something heals, and has faith in it... God/Savior will be there. :)

I found this while I was looking for something to listen to while I am getting ketamine treatments. I’ve used it so far during treatments 6 and 7 of the induction phase and it’s been a game changer. I have been dominated by my hypervigilance for 46 years (since my trauma began at age 4), meditation and quieting my mind has always been a struggle. I had used other ambient music for Tx 1-5 and it was nice but my mind was still a bit scattered and I had to work to fend off anxiety. When I used this meditation I was able to relax to a level that I had never experienced. The humming part of the breathing reminded me of how I used low frequency humming/toning during labor, it truely minimized my pain during contractions on the exhale (the inhales were quite painful so I did those quick). I love how the things said in this meditation are general (non triggering) and yet specific to the whole-body experience of surviving trauma. I have rarely felt safe in my body (or in my mind - so mostly unsafe). This meditation helped me relax the almost constant muscle tension I hold. My body sank down into the reclined chair, I felt safe and relaxed enough to do so. My mind, which is usually swirling with intrusive thoughts and ruminations, was calm and I was able to finally experience what I’ve been told about noticing the thoughts but not holding on to them. Being that relaxed allowed me to actually start to process things because my energy wasn’t going to being guarded/defensive to feel safe. I felt safe and whole in a way that my trauma-induced mildly-dissociative self hasn’t really experienced in 46 years. Safe to start processing trauma that had left me in emotional freeze mode for decades. I understand that meditation in general results in measurable changes to brain function and I’ve long wanted to have a meditative practice. “Quieting the mind” is something I’ve heard a lot about but have never known how to do. Sitting quietly is fertile breeding ground for rumination so I’ve avoided it with a lot of distractions over the years. Ketamine assisted therapy increases the plasticity of the brain so it’s critical to undergo it mindfully and intentionally. It was pairing this meditation with the ketamine treatment that facilitated a major shift in how I occupy my own body. It helped me feel safe and whole. I will keep using it during the next phase but ultimately I’m hoping it’s the bridge to help me get to that level of relaxation even after the ketamine treatment are done. This meditation has been a salve to my soul, thank you for creating it and sharing it.

Just trying to get through one day at a time. I would wake up in a panik, and just couldn't wait for bed time. Like i said, I wasn't living at all, i was merely surviving. I am so grateful that my (Cree healer) had directed me to this meditation specificaly. Thank you for giving me a life back. Thank you
