    This is a top video. Too many stringing vids just make every racquet look like they are a walk in the park to string and they never encounter issues. I get that when you're stringing for a living, but most people who just string for themselves and perhaps some mates will find these tips really helpful. I particularly liked how you used your bent nose pliers to hold and push. Much better choice of tools than normal pliers, where you can't get so close to the racquet and your string will bend. Haven't strung this prestige yet, well aware with older models on the same machine as yours. It became fairly normal with 3 coaches all with a prestige and stringing virtually weekly. Cheers 🎾🎾🎾

    When playing with guts, this grommet was essential, since it avoided the breakage of the gut when it had contact with wet clay and it remained stuck to the frame of the racket. IT WAS A WAY TO AVOID HUMIDITY.

    19:00. In those cases I use a piece of a firmer string (poly, cutted at an angle as you showed), when the synthetic gut crosses don´t pass through easily. That opens a path, and doesn´t damage the existing string.

    Back in the day the only racket I had trouble with are the rackets made by fila, soI used a curved sharp scissor and splice the string at an angle almost paper thin always did the trick for me. But great instructional video.

    Sort of related question: how difficult is replacing the bumper guard/grommets on the Prestige MP? I've done it for the RF97 and found it pretty straightforward. I've been told that replacing the bumper guard/grommets on a Babolat, though, is a nightmare. Where does the Prestige CAP grommets fall along this continuum? Great content, by the way!

    Not having a starting knot doesn't put pressure, created by a tensioned knot, on the starting hole and the frame around that area.

  • @eckateckat3449
    @eckateckat34492 жыл бұрын

    hi, I always make the double knot on the first cross string first on lose string. then with tensioning the first cross the knot and string goes tight at the same time. then you can set the first clamp on the other side of the knot and finished is your first cross string. therefore you have no space problems at the end with the clamp! ever tried this method? regards

    You once talked about the 03 holes on Prince racquets and how they were a pain in the neck for stringers. And, it turned off key people for distributing the racquet. Does the Head grommet system have that same negative effect on sales and service for the Head snapping grommet system?

    Thanks for sharing Where do you get your tubing? From time to time I have to tube and with the clear ones that are larger gauge they do make it more challenging. Something I like to do with the end of the string on tough ports put some lip balm on it. Now you get to find a use for a near empty lip balm container On that tight turnoff grommet, I like to do the Wilson Pro Knot. It’s not as bulky. As you said this is a demo. What do you like to string your demos with and what tension? As to appeal to a wide variety of players going to demo a racquet. Thanks for sharing.

  • @nostro1001

    @nostro1001

    4 жыл бұрын

    Electronic machine = constant pul, manual = lock out. An electronic machine is better for accuracy, that said if you're getting m using a drop or crank and string consistently, the result will be perfectly fine. It may not be the most accurate, but it doesn't matter if you're not stringing professionally. Just so long as you remain consistent. Obviously an electronic machine is faster and depending on the model may have a variety of options such as pre stretch & memory, that just make things easier.🙍 Cheers.

  • @2ndAveScents
    @2ndAveScents3 жыл бұрын

    All you have to do to lock the string in before you tie your knot is make sure you are above it on the outside, then loop it around the anchor string once and pull it across the racket until it locks in. Easy.

  • @jonathanchen1026
    @jonathanchen10263 жыл бұрын

    Another way to pull enough strings for 18 mains, is to pull the strings 9 times across the length of the racket 27 inches each time, and then pull it one more time from the end of the buttcap to around the top taper of the grip or to the throat and you should have exactly enough string for the main.

    Yep, grommet threading nightmare especially when the light is bad. Stringing these bottom up is not an option? Threading in the first two crosses before tying off the mains strikes me as a way to save a lot of headaches. Why always head down? In the wooden era fair enough but nowadays? Surely okay.

    You supposed to string top to bottom because some bs that that way it's easier on the frame. It all started actually cause first head racquets will break If strung bottom to top. I think that's the story not sure how true it is. Fyi i have experimented before stringing bottom to top a newer Wilson Prostaff and it worked well so far

    forgot to add my opinion on cap grommet benefits. it increases the swing weight and stability of the racquet. imagine putting lead around the hoop. some generations of the prestige and even the radical came with standard grommets/head guard that only protected what was necessary from ground strike. you could change it out with the full caps and vice versa.

    @@TennisSpin Really enjoy watching your videos, you put out some great contents! I know you compared tennis balls before but can you do a bounce test across different brands and also compare how they perform 1 or 2 weeks after opening. Another video suggestion is about the variation in weight and balance spec of the same racquet (from the shelf) by brand e.g. how much they can vary.
