people have been advocating for his account's inventory to be unlocked. I understand that people can change quite a lot in the 10 years it took from this guy to cheat, get banned, become tradelocked, and see his inventory appreciate in value. however I think it'd be a huge mistake to unlock his account now that he's been forced to hold onto these items. In essence it's almost like rewarding someone for doing something wrong.

Especially valve would lose a lot of money, so why would they help him, even if they could? Guess who would cash out asap.

Well, you can see that that way, but personnaly i dont think your inventory should be locked if you cheated during a game. Because you paid for these skins, so if you didn't duplicate, or used glitches on your inventory, the skins shouldn't be locked. That's my point of view. And Steam isn't really helping much. One time i got scammed, i wanted to sell 3 AK, so i received the trade offer, but someone got access to my account, and when i accepted, the trade was sent to the bad guy ( the one who had access ). When i reported that to Steam, they didn't banned him, and the support told me that was useless. So they lock inventory to people who cheated in game, but not to people who scams. ╰(*°▽°*)╯

I can't imagine losing so much money because I wanted to illegitimately get to a high rank
