He Lives!- Congregational Singing

Музыка

"He Lives!" sung by Cleveland Baptist Church, Thursday night, August 4th, 2005. See words below.
I serve a risen Saviour He's in the world today
I know that He is living whatever men may say
I see His hand of mercy I hear His voice of cheer
And just the time I need Him He's always near
Chorus:
He lives He lives Christ Jesus lives today
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way
He lives He lives salvation to impart
You ask me how I know He lives
He lives within my heart
In all the world around me I see His loving care
And though my heart grows weary I never will despair
I know that He is leading through all the stormy blast
The day of His appearing will come at last
Rejoice rejoice O Christian lift up your voice and sing
Eternal Hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King
The Hope of all who seek Him the help of all who find
None other is so loving so good and kind

Took me back to my childhood. Different country (heck, different hemisphere), same loving God, same rejoicing. Thank you.

What wonderful Doctrine. These songs ring so true! What a blessing to my soul. It's the Hymn's that I often bring to the forefront of my mind in times of joy, sadness and conflict. Thankful that I was fortunate enough to be taught these songs as a youngster. Today in in my late 30's I see a world that has changed so drastically. Scripture is there to teach us and to grow closer to our Savior, but the Hymns put the icing on the cake. Taste and see that The Lord is good Psalm 34:8

According to Wikipedia (so take it with a grain of salt), there are some who have criticized this song for placing more faith in experience than on Scripture. But the first line says, "I serve a risen Savior," a clear endorsement of Christ's resurrection.

We stopped attending the Southern Baptist here in Chattanooga as the music was just noise and show off time for the praise teams. We attend a Fundamental Ind Baptist now similar to this church but we dont have screens or anything like that. 100 member choir and sing only the old hymns with books. We love it! But I like the older services more to be honest. People just stare at the screens in the new ones.

No, Roy Thompson retired from pastor of the church on September 3rd, 1995 and he then went into mission work; this video is from August of 2005; Pastor Thompson went to heaven on June 14th, 2010.

@@stillamazed27 OK thank you. I was at CBC in march for the BCSO fine arts competition. I had a blast. My school won the Bible and general knowledge tests. You all have a wonderful ministry out there. Tell Brother Folger we pray for him. :)
