HDMI, HDCP and EDID Explained
Are you having HDMI problems? Maybe your displays seem randomly work or fail?

Thanks Simon, yes it is in the works, but working two jobs makes it hard to get content out as fast as I'd like. I definitely prefer SDI distribution. This way the computer only sees one device, the HDMI to SDI converter. An SDI distribution amp can then be used to feed multiple displays. However this still can create HDCP issues unless you are using a computer, which in most cases doesn't require HDCP.

Excellent idea!
This really didn't explain much. Trying to figure out why, I have a video switcher that if you just leave it alone with a video signal from the room camera it eventually drops the video. however the camera remains active. my thought was something with EDID is changing the resolution to an in proper format.

Hi Scott, The EDID negotiation should happen right away, so if your camera is up for several minutes and then drops it doesn't sound like an EDID negotiation problem.
