Wow did you not only answer my question, but you used the same splitter i was thinking about buying. This really helped me out alot with whether or not to buy this to record gaming on X1.

Window's Update does seem random in nature, but, it is VERY easy to disable the automatic install.

I just bought an HDMI splitter and it says that it supports HDCP, but when I try to connect to the capture card it doesn't work. Is it because the HDMI splitter is the wrong device or is it because the HDCP has advanced since this tutorial?

For AverMedia capture cards like the one shown in a video, there's simple software patch that allows you to simply get rid of the message box.

Hi. I have a DVD recorder that I want to use as an upscaler for record retrogaming gameplays from old consoles. But My ELGato Capture Device doesnt detects HDCP and I cant capture whit it. Al my HDMI devices are conected to a HDMI selector but of course the HDCP is not stripped at all. The Output of my HDMI switcher goes to the EL Gato Capture device, BUT. The main reason of my question is I am willing to output all the same time to 4 HDMI devices 1. EL Gato capture Card , 2. 3D Led TV , 3 Vertical Screen Led Tv , and an HDMI /4k Proyector SO I was wondering if any plitter will do the work , so I can Buy a 4 , 6 or 8 outputs cheap active splitter OR This trick will only work with this 2 output splitters. I am asking this cause everyone seems to create this tutorials whit this 2 in 1 splitters, but at the same time novody seems to have my needs of using or outputtting to diferent HDMI devices. Please guys , do you have any kind of tip for me? DO you know any 4, 6 or 8 output model , in order to do the trick? A 1.4b splitter will do the work?

I've got a stereo reciever that can up convert YPbPr all of the way up to 1080p over hdmi out. However I've run into issues where when I record from my original xbox, I get a blank screen. Hopefully, getting this fix will help me to be able to record and stream older games at a higher resolution for youtube...

Will an HDMI selector work as well?

I have a very nice Scart/HDMI to HDMI adapter that works well as an HDCP stripper, as well as a scaler. It was only $60 and it works quite well. My currently running MGS3 LP is being played on a PS3, through HDMI because of the Scart/HDMI box.

In the input side, did you use start port or just HDMI?

I use elgato hd60s+ for my canon camera as web camera. I got randomly freezes gameplay and camera. Say something overload or the 7 red lights at elgato hdcp . How can i fix it?

In Canada you are LEGALLY ALLOWED to move/copy copyrighted content from one medium to another for personal use. You are allowed to upload/download music for free. You are not allowed to sell copyright content (not owned by yourself) over the interwebs.

Munymuny200 No, US has actual copyright laws. Downloading copy righted music in the US is illegal. Canada's copyright laws aren't defined very well. Non-profit torrenting is legal in Canada. I would still be careful in court though. Undefined doesn't mean "Go do it".

MegaMech Downloading copyrighted music in the US isn't illegal, downloading copyrighted music from an unauthorized distributor in the US is illegal.

This no longer works with Directv. Worked for two years but now splitter does nothing and to make sure that it was the Directv I purchased another receiver on sale with the same update and the splitter only allows sound to old DVR.

so i am planning to buy PC monitor with HDCP, after watching this video i still don't understand if it will have some impact on streaming my game play, or recording my screen while gaming

My splitter isn't doing it. My Elgato is still hampered by HDCP (alternates between flickering signal and signal loss), although the output on the TV is fine. I'm using an active 3D/HDCP Compliant HDMI 1.4 splitter, just like the video instructs.

I just build a new PC with a GTX 980. My old PC used dvi to attach my 2 monitors to the graphics card. The 980 only has one dvi port though so I need to use HDMI or a Display Port to use the other. However when i used HDMI or a Display Port to HDMI in my monitor, it wasn't HDCP compatible. Will the splitter work for me to solve this issue?

the splitter worked for me. before buying one though make sure your monitors are set for hdmi and not dvi or vga. hope this helps

Do I have to use a console or is there a way to record using laptops...firestick...roku….ect. I have an elgato hd60s...a splitter....a laptop....an amazon firestick...and a PC monitor. So far haven't been able to get anything working.

I am pretty sure it is NOT illegal to copy copyrighted materials like say, a show from your DVR box that you want to import onto your computer for space. AS LONG AS, you don't go about passing it off anywhere, to anybody.

No. HDCP was made to be a pain in the ass for people who otherwise would buy the real stuff. For instance I own a surround system but I can't currently use it with many other devices I own. Solution? Use pirated content. It always works!

The hdcp stripper linus uses is very good, i already have 3 of these, they work very well, just don't use cheap hdmi cables, as you will get video out of sync issues whilst capturing use a Monster or Maplin HDMI cables, The best quality HDMI cables work well, SKY and other Premium chinese HDMI cables will fail to produce a stable in sync image. Do not use cheap hdmi cables you will be disappointed.

@@slashbackentertainment7244 Hi version 1.3b and 1.4b work perfectly i have 3 since i purchased them cheaply, not worth paying more than £10 for one i got mine for £6.99 and they work perfectly. Make sure the 1x2 is in blue text thats the one you need. Do not buy a newer revised hdcp stripper as it may not do what it claims as hdcp encryption may change and you may not be able to capture due to copyright legislations being put up in some cases. One thing that worries me is if people start using splitters to rip the dhcp from the hdmi stream, content authors are gonna start including splitter unique hardware ids to the blacklist of unsupported devices...then we're all farked.

Get a PC. Then use any number of software recorders, like FRAPS, and record away. And enjoy paying less for games thanks to STEAM. A lot less.

Some splitters will clone the HDCP key from whatever device is plugged into Port #1 so this way "content authors" (or the HDCP gods) can't block the splitters, they appear just like a TV to the media players.

Ps4 won't play bluray unless I unchecked hdcp..I have ps4 and ps3 connected to e-sds 5x1 HDMI switch which is connected to xb1s to HDMI out

I have the same HDMI splitter as the guy has, even the graphics on the top of it are the same, though it doesn't support recording HDCP protected content. LOL However, I bought it not long ago.

I just use a splitter so I can Play on my TV while recording on my AVerMedia capture card and holy shit he uses the same capture carp. My PS4 accepts my capture card for some reason

This copyright fiasco is so mess up! Not everyone is a pirate some people want to record stuff to make reviews or walkthrough. There is also a huge difference between pirates and someone who want to make videos for entertainments. Pirates record for many reason such as movie to make they own dvd and win money with it and the not-pirates are people that record a gameplay or a movie to made a review or a walkthrough and they do not make money with it... well some of them do but that because KZread allow it.
