I've climbed a couple of routes on this and I keep telling people there's nothing else around, it's all by itself, the landscape other than this is featureless for miles, and this video demonstrates that perfectly.

Yes, the footage was beautiful but I was very much wanting to see the top of the tower much more clearly than what was shown.

Me too. Of course sedimentary material will be in too but I got the impression that the top central area is more solid, like the side of half dome, and not split in hexagons. Of course the outside edges of the top still have the hexagons but even they seem more rounded and bulbous as though it was a solid mass exactly like this while molten hot and not eroded away as we are taught. This goes deep. I need to go in person now more than ever.

I live in San Francisco, but most of my family is in South Dakota. In about 1995 my roommate and I rented a white Chevy Caprice (we called it the White Whale) and we drove it from San Francisco to Rapid City. Along the way, we stopped at Devils Tower and did a little exploring. That was over 20 years ago, but neither of us will ever forget it!

For great footage. The overcast skies caused brightness everywhere, no shadows. This is great for clear colorful shots. If you ever go back I would love to see a vary similar video taken after sunrise and or before sunset to bring out more depth to see the relation of the smooth hills and the tower better. Just a thought. Neither way is right or wrong, I just would like to see how the entire structure is related to each other. Just like many mountains the foothills are intimately related to the peaks. The transition zones vary in all cases. This is nerdy geology stuff I am trying to figure out. Your video was excellent and showed me many things about the area I had not previously known. I just want to know more (: ty

***** Oh I see! Conspiracy Theory? I walked right into that. Well played. Anyone with a brain knows where that term comes from. I actually don't know anyone that considers themselves a "conspiracy theorist". It's funny that when law enforcement and detectives expose criminals and liars it's called doing their job however, when some everyday Joe exposes liars and criminals it is called "conspiracy theory" but I digress. The massive wave of "flat earth" channels claiming flat earth with ridiculous to no evidence at all is hardly organic to say the least and neither is using the words "conspiracy theorist" in a duragatory fashion. Well played shill.
