I am really interested and i have asked it other places, does any one this Emily is half mortal? Emily is set up to have a lot of parallel with Charlie. Charlie is half angle half human moral. Is emily also half angle half human? If she is half mortal then she is more likely to be Sera’s child. If she is all angle she is more likely to be the younger sister.

As far as we saw, Sinners never showed any interests with invading Heaven, or at the very least they never had a reason to do so. And even if we pretend that they did want to attack Heaven, unlike Hellborn Demons, Sinners can’t leave the Pride Ring as part of their punishment (therefore they can’t hide in Hell’s other Rings), so unless they pulled some insane Diabulous Ex Machina, how are they supposed to put their feet in front of the pearly gates?

Honestly, my main problem with people talking about Sarah or Emily. Is there comparing hell to being poor when really hell Is full of murderers and rapists, so the reason they're the "Other" is a little more complex than just yuck, they're the poors

Emily has one of the best lines in the whole series. "I don't need your condescension, I'm not a child to protect, Was talk of virtue just pretention, Was I too naive to expect you, To heed the morals you're purveying?" The betrayal, almost fury, in her voice is overwhelming.

Totally agree about Emily being seen as a child because of how she looks and acts. I'm a 29 year old man but I'm short and I look way younger than I am. I am a full time employee yet people often think I'm an intern or an apprentice. That's ok, what's not ok is people who KNOW I am an employee and still treat me like a child.

My sympathies. I'm a quite short woman who looks younger than I am (still asked for ID in my thirties), and a customer at my old job actually asked me if I could go find an adult for them... I was 25... They could have asked if my colleagues or boss would be able to answer their questions, but no, they asked me for an adult like I was a child.

Emily is literally a Cinnamon Roll and by far one of the few Angels (albeit Seraphim Angels) in Heaven that acted as Charlie’s cheerleader and supported her idea on sinners being rehabilitated and entering Heaven. She literally won the fandom by storm in her first appearance and when she was excited when she saw Sir Pentious (the first sinner) arriving in Heaven. I can’t wait to see her role in the next season, but I’m also cautious nothing bad happens to Emily as Sera warned her she would be casted out and be "fallen". Also she’s played by Shoba Narayan who was Jasmine in _Aladdin_ on Broadway and Nessarose in _Wicked_

The fact that Emily and Charlie are both SIX FEET TALL always come back to me, the people in this show are Giants!

@@CharleeRed It really is interesting. Lucifer is latin, literally meaning "light bringer". Now, 'the Morning Star' is actually Venus, called that when it shines the brightest as it comes over the horizon in the morning, so it makes sense why they'd name that 'star' the light bringer. *BUT,* in hazbin, when you put it in the context of Lucifer giving knowledge to humanity, and how his magic is him creating things out of an amazing shining light, him being called "light bringer" takes on a whole new meaning.

There is absolutely NO rage like that of a betrayed idealist. Emily's prousest moment is when she literally stands side-by-side with Charlie and gives Sara a well-eserved dressing down.

I feel like, after Adam and Sera, we really needed Emily to show us that Heaven isn't an innately bad place, and the whole premise of the show was that 'Hell is Bad, Heaven is Worse.' It would be really easy with two examples to come to that conclusion. A counter-example was required, and Emily delivered.

Girlie made an 18 minute analysis of character that only had like 5 minutes of screen time she's just like us for REAL

It's very telling of how much you're right when you look back at the Hazbin fandom and find that many of us missed the point and think Emily's supposed to be a child character. Just because she's smaller than the others and is joyous, hopeful, optimistic and compassionate they immediately think "oh she's a child angel." No she's not. And she's clearly had to deal with that patronization before since she _immediately_ throws out the "I'm not a child to protect" line. She _knows_ everyone is thinking it, she's probably had to face this before. They think she's weak because she's compassionate but it's the opposite. It takes immense strength of character to be like Emily is in a place so marred by cynicism.

It's also funny that people assume Emily is a child because she's smaller than Sera, but she's also not too much shorter than Charlie, who is canonically like six and a half feet tall.

I'm not sure Sara is being kind when she says 'fallen'. What she means is that Emily could be exiled. Either by Sara, or Sara and a few other people. "Don't make me hurt you" is simply a forerunner of an abuser's "Look what you made me do". Ultimately this whole mess was created by Judgement, or the controlling agency behind it, but Sara is definately willing to just follow orders. And she will only be your friend if you are too.

I think she was honestly, she's just scared to lose Emily the same way Lucifer was lost- Sera be literally the one to let Charlie go to heaven. Lucifer and Sera seem to have still connection some way another. She also looked sad in the flashback, when Adam went down to kill sinners. Sera just being a scared mom here and that's what clouded Sera's viewpoint.

I raised an eyebrow at that too. “Please. If you start to question, you could end up like Lucifer-fallen” and…who decides that? Isn’t Emily second in command of heaven? Isn’t Sera the highest ranking angel in all of heaven?? Then she says “I can’t bear to see you suffer that fate”…like she knows that if Emily is accused of treason she would immediately vote against her. Just for asking questions. Yet Adam gets a free pass all this time, gets to say and do whatever he wants including mother flipping GENOCIDE without consequences, all supposedly because “angels don’t make mistakes”. But…if the belief is that angels don’t make mistakes, why would Emily, a seraphim, be under fire just for asking questions? The only thing I can conclude is that they don’t want anyone changing their system, especially someone who would propose the idea that all beings are neither inherently good nor inherently bad. Adam got the free passes that he did because he truly believed good and evil was black and white and that everything done in the name of protecting heaven must’ve been good. He was basically their biggest purveyor and enforcer of this idea and that’s why he got to stick around while Emily gets threatened for asking questions.

Yeah, she phrases, "you could end up like Lucifer. Fallen." like it's something that could just happen on its own. The intro was clear that Lucifer was banished from Heavens by other angels, one of which was very obviously Sera. She's the judge who presides over the court here, she would also have presided over Lucifer's trial.

What made me really like Emily isn't the pure joy she exudes, because Charlie was already that for an episode. It is Emily standing up for the sinners and getting ticked off when she found out that "angels" were murdering sinners.

There’s a theory floating around that Emily is essentially Lucifer’s replacement. It makes some sense, being the empathic Seraphim of Joy who, like Charlie, wants everyone to have a chance for happiness, similar to Lucifer having been a creative dreamer who wanted to enact what he saw as a positive change for humanity. Hearing you talk in-depth about Emily now having similar ideas of changing things for the better has _definitely_ given the idea more credence in my mind. I’m always so excited when you talk about this show!

Emily had hardly said 2 sentences & I was like "You're bouncing ball of sunshine & I adore you!" ✨✨ I wouldn't be surprised if sound design actually used a rubber ducky for that squeak 😆

Exactly people are vilifying. Sarah way harder than she deserves. Hell tried to rise up. Adam said let's slaughter them so they can't rise up again. And she agreed because she thought they could not be. Redeemed. And it's really hard to think. Centers can be redeemed when they're such awful people, most of the time that's why they're in hell instead of heaven.

i think the idea was she didn’t think it was possible and the fact it is raises a lot of new questions and issues and that’s is shocking her job is to protect the souls of heaven, and now that includes redeemed sinners

Our Angel just got her wings, and they're magnificent, and I love how the halo looks like it's actually floating. The detail you put into your costumes is incredible. Emily is one of my favorites, and cleary has a lot more to her than I expected. I know what it's like to have to stand up to a former idol, and it was satisfying seeing her do so. I'm excited to see how her story continues in season 2.

makes one wonder with Demons and Angels having "true forms" not often shown like Alastor's wendigo form and charlie and her father's more traditional demon-like forms what would Vaggie's be as a recently "fallen angel" would she have a more birdlike/animalistic or "biblically accurate" appearance like non-fallen angels or more like Charie and Lucifer.

@@roronoazoro8322 i don’t think they are described to people during church services. But I don’t know if never really been. I am a massive mythology buff. Ready myths and religious text from around the world. There are many text that are considered biblically canonical that describe the angles and wheels within weels covered in eyes or flaming balls coved in eyes and six wings. Great stuff. I can understand why a pastor or priest does want to describe the angles mid service as that could derail the service.

As an overly joyous person, I do annoy people and my energy can be too much. It can be too much for me sometimes. When I interact with others I tend to be very bubbly. However, I feel very tired when everything calms down even though I'm full of energy in the moment. But one thing about being filled with joy is that even though I'm 37, I still feel a lot of childlike wonder when I look at the world. I don't get down easily, but when I do, It's usually a hard fall.

I wish you blissful happiness, we are children in this life amongst the trees and stars, and this world is wonderful. Sometimes dismal, bleak, dark or uncertain, but it can be and is beautiful. I read 'Desiderata' poem/mantra everyday to help keep me humble and going in my own way in life. [34 here]

She may have only one episode, but she is a true embodiment of joy and her genuine love (agape, which is ideally what heavenly beings should all embody) won over fans so quickly. I really do hope she continues to be in the show and continues to be the cinnamon roll she is. Sure, let her come to see the world more as it is, but still hold on to her joyous idealism.

That can only mean you’re going to do Sera too, cause that girl has some more traditional baggage for you to unpack. That said I’m not sure how you make the cosplay distinct or if it would be practical to do so. But Emmy is adorable and I wish she’d been around for more than about a minute total in the entire series.

or hinting that they are more than just similar... one of the theories floating around is that Emily is Charlies sister, either with Sera being the mother - because she has a lot of motherly attitude towards Emily - or with Eve as Lucifer taunted adam that "your first wife didnt seem hate what i had to offer, or the second" followed by, ahem, suggestive movement. So its possible that he has TWO daughters with both Lilith and Eve.

I love Emily truly what i aspire to be but I also appreciate that someone saw the horror is Sara’s face rather than calling it confusion or something like that that is the look of someone that knows they fucked up in a way they probably can’t come back from if people find out

emily's sort of polite rage towards sera, is easily one of the most powerful moments in the show to me, especially when it goes into her duet with charlie

The wings are great. The joy in Emily face when Sir Pen shows up, was fantastic.

I like how you fixed the wings to the chair instead of your back. It does make it easier to show them off without getting caught/trapped to the chair.

Emily is a natural INFP in my opinion. Lolol I could be wrong, but INFP are known to be idealists 🩵💙🤍 I love Emily!!! She’s so cute and total inspiration. I wanna be like her! Ps, I see so much of myself in Em and also in Lucifer. Im like a combo of both

I used to put my dad on a pedestal, I admired him so much, but then after I lived alone for some time I realized he is not this perfect dad I thought, we disagree in so many things, I stand my ground on my way of thought about diverse things, I still love him a lot, but he is not this 100% perfect ideal male figure I once thought, he has his flaws like any other human being.

She only really had one episode to her name, but Emily is definitely one of my favourites in this show 😊

And I think the seraphim are all brothers and sisters. I think that’s the reason that Charlie and Emily share the same personality because they are actually auntie and niece since Lucifer had a child and I wonder if Charlie might possibly get to meet her other uncles and aunties. But Welcome To Heaven episode was probably the worst family reunion ever. They don’t act like family. And that explains the ducky squeak from Emily because ducks are Lucifer’s thing. I can’t get enough of Emily’s ducky squeak. She is the cutest! I loved her the moment she appeared. Are you going to do Sera? I also can’t wait for why Angel Dust is a hero analysis.

I’d love to see you do Centaurworld. There’s a lot of depth you might not expect at first lol

"I didn't choose Emily so I could do the wings and halo." But they were a strong incentive, weren't they? LOL

Emily was my favorite character in the entire show despite so little screentime of her and so few "special" moments like the actual main cast. I do hope the show gives her a full character arc and keeps her extremely relatable and likable. Thank you for all the amazing cosplays~ This one might (?) be simpler than the other cosplays in concept, but it's so sparkly and pretty... I love it!

The whole Vivzieverse is both horrific and wholesome.

I really would like a video on the Vee's because I think that seeing them only trought their manipulative trait is missing some part of their character : like Velvett desire to control, Vox desire to achieve perfection & well you know what Val deal is = impulsive, furious mothman.

Next should be the overlords like Carmilla or the V’s, amazing video :)

I wonder if Emily and Lucifer would get along, with the big dreams and idealism and all

I think of all the characters in this season, Emily is the one that I want to see more of season 2. I think she has the most potential with the least screen time.

she isnt tiny, she is same height as Charlie who is one of the tallest characters in the show ... its just she is standing near Sera who is way taller than her that it seems she is "small" but when you compare her height to other characters like St.Peter (same height) or Vaggie (head shorter) its that Sera is a giant not that Emily is short.

Thank you so much for the comment on it being ok to express anger and sadness outwardly. It’s something I’m working on instead of exclusively showing joy or patience.

The first and last noises she made this season were happy squeaks, which tells me all I need to know to like her.

Please do Camilla Carmine next ❤ She's strong, smart, vulnerable, loving, and loyal. So loyal, in fact, it makes her do questionable things to keep those she loves safe (i.e. being the top arms dealer, even though she'd rather avoid war). I believe she wears a mask of stoicism but we see it slip when her loved ones are insulted or hurt - which I think makes her incredibly complex and very human (for someone who is now a demon)!

And here I thought you were done with HH season 1, but I love to see you doing everyone’s favorite angel in the show so far and I can’t wait for you to do Sera and Lute and maybe Rosie or Carmilla, or maybe the Vees next

LOVE IT when you're rowdy Georgia = ) "You can be courteous and classy and still have your claws." THAT'S YOU GEORGIA! A delightful mix of Emily/Charlie/ Vaggie! Also where DO you store those wings? You've had them for at least a couple of years now! And yes, QUITE familiar with the soul crushing realization things and also the standing up against the unjust things...entire systems...bullies that everyone supports. And yes, TONS of blowback. And yes, going against the entire group at once.

I honestly prefer Emily over Charlie and I'm excited to see where her arc goes in season 2, whether she enacts change while in heaven or we see her doing it from hell as a fallen angel. Also side note but I love the detail of forms changing when a character is angry extending to the seraphims so they have more eyes the more riled they get. Love that that's not strictly demonic

Emily... the one person where "pip-squeak" could be a term of endearment.

I cannot be the only one who found joy in this video from how that little curl of red hair initially looked like a little rainbow cascading on to the star of your cosplay.

Vaggie's face when Emmie holds Charlie's hand is so amazing haha

My favorite Emily moment is when she and Charlie are in full sync. They are kindred spirits in so many ways.

I don’t have time to fully watch this one yet but m an- Emily finding out what’s really happening is not going to be easy on her, we already saw some of it at the end of episode 6. She’s spent thousands of years believing that everyone she knew and all she stood for was good, when the person closest to her was causing harm behind her back. Her “how can I bring joy… ” hurts so much- she emphasized “WE”- I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if she blames herself- even though she has nothing to do with it.

I honestly love that you have a costume for each character you do an analysis on!! They’re all so cute 😭🙏 (Also, a lil request, could you do Vox?)

Such an awesome costume! I'm always amazed by how much you can analysis in short moments. And yes! It's so dangerous to think young people can't be smart, they can have wonderful, unique perspectives.

Apparently I'm due for yet another rewatch, cause I never even noticed some of the details like Vaggie's face when Charlie and Emily hold hands 😂 Or the Seraphim's shapeshifting. They both change to appear more human when they arrive at the gates, but it seems they also do it somewhat involuntarily with emotions

An interesting point you made about Sarah the High Saraphim, about how she sounds like she has such good and genuine intentions but just uses that to disguise the messages to keep Emily submissive; the whole "stay in your lane" talk. It brings back something ive noticed earlier in the episode when she was talking with Adam and Lute and mentioning Charlie as "Lucifer's misguided daughter"; On occasion i sometimes believe that when people judge others they dont know, there is this tendency of "projection" towards others when they themselves carry the very trait they are discussing. Would that be a fair observation??

I like how when Emily gets angry, she opens the eyes on her halo and her heart. Also she blushes blue.

Emily's little squeak upon seeing Sir Pentious is perhaps one of the top five moments of the entire show for me.
