In Jack's defense, it wasn't made very clear until Episode 5 when it was directly stated and then they started acting like a couple. Like it was an assumption that could be easily made but nothing in the writing before episode 5 made them seem THAT close. I assumed she may have been a step sister or friend.

and given his power seems to revolve around killing and stealing the power of existing overlords and demons, I wonder if that's an intentional thematic choice. We know he's a human soul, not a natural demon, so he shouldn't be this powerful otherwise. Feels like lilith empowered him to take out the competition or...something. I also wonder about his shadow, whether that's a seperate entity, or if that's actually alastor, and the body we see is more of a puppet, which would explain his somewhat artificial scarecrow-ish appearance in his demon form (with that form relying on his shadow tentacles rather than it's own limbs and power)

I think the idea of Alastor being Jesus Christ in disguise is the funniest theory ever.

They definitely have not lol it was explicitly mentioned once in episode five (prior to Ep 6). Prior to that, Vaggie uses words like “babe” which are ambiguous (my sister calls everyone babe, even us her other sisters), or “partner” which is ALSO ambiguous since her and Charlie are a team effort behind the hotel so it can be easily construed as business related. In the pilot Katie said to Charlie that she doesn’t “touch the gays” but that confirms nothing except Charlie is gay. There are no kisses, no “girlfriend”, no talk about their relationship status, how they met, etc. if I hadn’t been told they were dating I would have had no idea.

@@Nevertoleave if a “couple” does nothing to act like a couple, then you can’t blame the audience for not realizing they are together. There are no indications that they are together prior to episode 5 unless you’re just guessing. They seem way more like just friends rather than lovers from the pilot to episode 4. That’s way too long to establish the main characters relationship from a story writing standpoint.

I'm surprised you didn't catch on to the fact that the "violin" lucifer had, was a golden fiddle meaning he hasn't gone down to Georgia yet.

​​@@ani-ma-tion5326yea definitely agree, but the show definitely could use some more room to work with, even just a couple more episodes could have been so much better, they have a good premise and a good story they want to tell, but they have to find the time to do that while trying to do things like character development, world building, and actually making you care about characters, while also trying to be funny at the same time, this is much more noticeable in the first episode where they also have to establish who the characters are and their motivations and personalities, overall they have a lot of stuff they want to do and not that much time to do it.

What’s crazier is that Vaggie WAS a human. So she was actually a “winner” and went to heaven when she died and became an angel. Then she “fell” when they ripped her wings off and left her in hell. Which proves that human angels can “get worse” so to speak to be kicked out of heaven. Which means that Charlie and Em are right in Ep 6 when they say Heaven is a hypocrite and a liar because if human angels can fall why can’t human demons be redeemed? Heaven is being very choosy with its citizens.

Despite Alastor being a demon he’s one of the few who doesn’t CONSTANTLY swear. Perhaps it’s because he believes it’s beneath him and not seen as classy, and he only does it when he’s genuinely mad or upset which isn’t often. I kinda like that about his character.

I think it’s kinda cool that Lucifer seems sorta distant and his memory is hazy, to the point where he misremembers what Charlie’s saying. After all he IS the oldest denizen of Hell. And even taking into account the next episode, so far he is the oldest character in the show. Eternity would make anybody forgetful.

I absolutely love how they depicted Lucifer. Charlie and Lucifer's song absolutely blew me away with how much the voice actors embody these roles. They passionately put their heart and soul into said songs and vocals. I absolutely love how they depicted Lucifer as a caring and loving father who, albeit he has trouble connecting to his daughter and is a bit of a goofball, still loves Charlie no matter what and wants to believe in her vision. Still, he sees himself in her and doesn't want her crushed under Heaven's laws/ruthlessness. But despite how scared he is and how much of a failure he feels like, his daughter brings out his hope once again and sees his dream live on through her vision to redeem sinners, so of course, he'd be willing to do anything he can to support her and try and convince Heaven sinners can be redeemed. Jeremy Jordan and Erika Henningson both did a phenomenal job in this episode. I also love how Alastor is the ultimate troll in this show as he already SAVAGELY roasted Vox, and the fact he has the guts to roast Lucifer in front of his own daughter (who seemingly goes along with it) truly shows how little f***s Alastor gives. Complete legend.

Besides standing up to Val, Angel looking out for Nifty was my favorite part of episode 6! Despite how whacko and off putting she is to the others, they still care for her like a daughter or little sister 💗💗💗💗

fun fact, the voice actor of adam and sir pentious in hazbin and fizzaroli in helluva is the same person
