However even if that weren't the case, depending on how close to biblical canon viv is sticking (it seems not very much), Charlie wouldn't be princess of Heaven anyway because Lucifer had older brothers

Well she's technically a daughter of an Angel, but without her father's whole animosity with Heaven, so her natural disposition would be that to being kind and generous but also rebellious to authority like her father was - and so you end up with Charlie trying to reform demons and sinners lol

There's a fan theory that Charlie is a bit of a reality warper, especially when singing. I like the idea that given how powerful she is, instead of the usual fire and earthquakes and such, she simply reforms reality into a musical whenever she wants. Possibly why Helluva boss has had so much singing.

I absolutely adore Erika Henningson from Mean Girls already, and I she is already crushing this part. I don’t think they could’ve picked a better VA, her voice is so upbeat but so strong, and it gives Charlie that Disney princess impression, but it can also be so emotional and of course the occasional f bombs. Absolutely cannot wait to see the rest of the series, and I’m sure the whole cast and crew is going to do so amazing!!!

Which I'm sure Helluva Boss has contributed to sustaining the fandom. Rather than just a pilot and then nothing that series has kind of kept it in people's minds because of how connect they are. Like I'm absolutely positive there are people who have been waiting on Hazbin who don't watch Helluva Boss but I just feel like this is the vast majority of people probably do and it helped keep interest in both for these last few years

It was a good pilot. It showed the premise, gave us some of the major players, showed examples of action and comedy we can expect going forward, and can serve as an episode 0, a backstory. Compared to other would-be pilots, it does the job well, same as Helluva Boss' pilot did. And Helluva Boss' pilot did basically the same thing: introduced the major players, the premise, showed examples of action and comedy we can expect going forward, and can serve as an episode 0. In both cases, the pilot is likely to be able to be completely ignored, but if watched, only adds more to the story. It's not just good animation and a good premise, you need to make a pilot be a pilot. Modifyers tries to act like it's already a thing in its "pilot", doesn't bother with showing much of who, what and why. It was a bad pilot and got abandoned, despite the animation being good and the premise decent. Lackadaisy did little better - we don't get to know why we should care about the characters introduced, and it tries to be an episode 1 instead of a showcasing what it's going to be about. Unfortunately that will likely mean that it's going nowhere.

Such a beautiful and happy song, worthy of a Princess of Hell who sings like a Disney Princess. Props to you, VivziePop. Can’t wait for this series.

@huntermagnuson8062 The fact that they've got an actual _ensemble_ in both songs we've seen so far (this one and the one from the season trailer) is as clear a demonstration as any that they're raising the bar for _Hazbin._ Filling the cast with big-name Broadway talent only gets you so far if you don't have the supporting cast to match.

It's like I'm in an alternate universe where Disney is non-PG and I'm hearing one of the songs from their hit animated musical film. Absolutely stellar voice and production!

@@Ian-bf4yk That's something I've been wondering for a while now: if Charlie's singing voice is actually an instrument of her demon powers. It would interesting if all of the visuals shown in the pilot song "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow" wasn't completely because of the camera following her around but because her demon powers were causing all of it via singing. It would be cool if it turned out her father Lucifer shared this same power.

When the Hazbin Hotel pilot first appeared on KZread I knew it was something special. I loved the character Charlie so much I actually named my first born daughter after her. My daughter Charlie was born in 2022 and now Hazbin hotel will come out right in time for her second birthday. Congrats Viv. You did it

The actress voicing Charlie has such a wonderful voice and fits the character perfectly. If we compare the voice in the early pilot and the current one, then we can safely say that the change of voice actors only benefited the project and the songs as well.

This is honestly better than anything disney has produced in the last 10 years!

This song gives me so much hope for the series. The quality of the singing and sound mixing is so professional. The balance between charlie's optimism and the sinners' cynical comedy is hilarious and great storytelling. Its implied that charlie is naive but does have some awareness of how hard it will be to redeem anyone, much less everyone, but she's staying hopeful and trying anyway. With just one song we get strong characterization, story beats, narrative tone, technical quality, and a banger to jam to on the daily. I was already sold on the show after the pilot, and now it feels like I've been seated and the overture is preparing me for a once in a lifetime experience. I can't wait to see your masterpiece @Vivziepop; it's going to be a Happy Day on Earth.

@shaynem7331 Not really I mean I like her little but she is somehow horrible I'm sorry but even sociopathic character like for example Rachel Gardner from angels of death is more better she is more understanding she accepted Zack despite his crimes and his evil side Unlike Charlie -Charlie wants to help sinners reform, but her methods (like the hotel) could be seen as trying to force change or "fix" people rather than accepting them unconditionally. Charlie pushes an agenda of positivity that may disregard peoples' real feelings and challenges. Charlie's more black-and-white good vs. evil view. Charlie's methods prioritize an agenda over unconditional acceptance. When Alastor offered to "help" Charlie at the hotel, even with some questionable strings attached, Charlie's response did come across as rather judgmental and uncompromising. Charlie appeared unwilling to consider working with Alastor if it meant condoning any of his demonic tendencies through "voodoo magics." Charlie's rigidity in demanding no such association could undermine her stated goal of redemption for all. It suggests a lack of understanding Charlie dismissing Alastor so hastily, without exploring opportunities, aligned less with her message of mercy. No wonder some are against Al x Charlie ship I don't them much anymore even if this ship made me and my boyfriend meeting but I didn't know about Charlie that much

You've pretty much identified all the reasons why this song works so well. If you told me this came from a big-budget production, I wouldn't bat an eye. It's that good. The change-up at 1:47 is just...my God, it's great. People so often underestimate the effort that goes into animation, and especially in animated musical productions. The people on this show know what they're doing, and this is just the first episode. Who knows how many bangers they have up their sleeve?

So proud of Vivienne and the team for giving us more hazbin content after all these years!

I love how they express her emotions, like how she's in some sort of way, too happy, like something is like legit wrong with her, but also not? Her personality is so diverse and it's hard to tell wether she's actually just a happy-go lucky hippity hippity person or a person with suppressed emotional trauma. And even in the pilot episode we get reminded she's still a demon, like how she uses her language more aggressively in her new song, while in the pilot it seems like she doesn't actually talk like that that much, so being reminded she's still a demon is something that adds to her character in every way possible.

It gives me a sense of "we're going to find out she's a lot more fucked up than she seems" type vibe, I'm honestly so here for it tbh.

This is just Broadway-level music. I am ALL here for this. Top class act and I can't wait for release!

Honestly, I'm still amazed that after all these years, we're finally going to get new Hazbin Hotel content. I'm confident that this is going to be worth the wait!

@@RavenStarMedia all the writers must do is consider the things that piss them off the most, and draw that into a character; look what they did for Charlie, Vaggie and Al; Bubbly perkiness, disassociated cynicism and reserved optimism! (Along with self-serving derision from Angel, that’s BOUND to piss some people off.) and this show is all about portraying misery down in Hell, right? 😏

The fact that it's been literally almost a decade since Hazbin Hotel was announced and 4 years since the Pilot was released on KZread, there's been a long time for expectations and headcanons. All that expectation festering for that long can lead to dire consequences when they aren't met.

​@@unbreakableunion2350I wish Hazbin Hotel's first season was released in 2020, but that's just a wish. I wish the colors from the pilot were kept on the character designs, but that's also a wish. What I can HOPE for is for the show to be good in the path it chooses to go.

It would be amazing if the pilot was extended into a full length animated movie, for the first episode, with Generation V, launching on Prime with 3 episodes, launching with four episodes would be another great way to test launch methods.
