@@thekeefchief3616 Blitz cares for him, but they're not quite there yet. He doesn't believe Stolas loves him, he won't have any reason to until their unspoken contract is broken. They can't love each other as any kind of equals like Fizz and Ozz until that power imbalance between them is as rectified as it can be. And you're right, Blitz is too scared to truly care for anyone. We still don't know how he blew up his relationship with Verosika.

From my personal experience, it seems like a two sided relationship, but one side is unable to give it for some reason, while the other is so passionate about it... this is like me and my gf... I love her and she loves me, but I am the more passionate one, while she will often ask me to leave her alone... she has many issues, with her visa, but also personally... if only she knew I could solve all her problems within a week or two... This is what makes her so different from my ex... for my ex I was just a ticket to Europe, once I was no longer needed she easily discarded me... for my current gf, she is in Europe, but needs to extend her visa, I have the answers and contacts to do so but she refuses, because she does not want to burden me as my ex did... I kind of wish for once my gf would use me as my ex did, just this one time, for both of our future together

So, now it's just sort of a cultural touchstone that people in Hell sing. In some musicals, it's pretty clear that the characters aren't actually singing in the story and that it's a stylized representation of their emotions. But, in the Hellverse, the musical numbers are all diegetic.

I love how Stolas's eyes are usually empty red voids, but when he shows intense emotion, like when he stood up to Stella, or here at the end as he's consumed by grief, he gains little pupils, it really helps you connect with him more and makes the moment more impactful

I think for Stolas was it always "dearest" since he made the deal with the book while having this bad marriage. "The impish plaything" is just an excuse to have regular contact and sex with blitzo because he does not want to see Stolas otherwise. Stolas liked him since childhood. At least this is my interpretation.

There was a poll awhile back that asked which series had better music, Hazbin or Helluva. I dont really think its a fair comparison. Hazbin is more like musical theatre, Helluva is more relevant to daily life. One is more showy and polished, but Helluva touches everything. Love, isolation, being trapped, and just straight awesomeness!

2:22 I don’t know why I don’t see more comments about this part, but the ghostly soft piano absolutely hits me with emotion. It’s the helplessness and fragility. It’s the fact that Stolas’ sings with that feeling of helplessness. He sings like Blitzø is the most fragile thing to him that he can’t get close enough to Blitzø to comfort him otherwise he’ll break, so all he can try to do is comfort with the softest voice he can manage. That’s what breaks me.

When this show first came out I thought "oh haha, gay horny owl. Its funny" But by the end of the first season I am genuinely invested and want them to be happy! This free cartoon on youtube is making me feel more than anything i've seen from holywood in years!

@@dakforest5344 Yep! PARANOiD DJ! His original version is a little longer with some different lyrics. And even though this version is absolutely beautiful, I like the orginal lyrics better. It actually delves into Stolas' selfishness and sense of entitlement which he later realizes is the problem... instead of trying to absolve him of it right away.

You know what I love most about the moon symbolism? The moon directly affects the tides. So even when Stolas falls into and starts sinking in the water, the moon is still affecting him, even though it’s so far away.

I love how they changed the lyrics from “come now, my little impish plaything we both made our choice.” to 0:55 “but dearest I know better now I must give you this choice.” ❤️

To think Stolas originally was just some horny owl and turned into such a beautiful and complex character amazes me to no end. This is a truly powerful song and it’s sung and animated perfectly to suit the character as a whole. Thank you for this masterpiece!!!

You can't forget, though, that he's had an interest in Blitz since they were both young. horny or not, there was definitely an attraction on his side. But he's definitely grown since when we first met him. I feel as though he was acting desperate(?) cause that's what he believed Blitz liked or hoped that would keep Blitz around more. Sometimes.. People put on masks and Stolas' mask was being a horny owl. He craved love and affection for so long. He feels guilty but thats the only way he thought could receive it. Blitz blames him but Blitz objectified himself and their interactions then dumped the blame on Stolas alone. Blitz stole from him and dumped him twice. Stolas tried to adjust to him and got blamed and burned in turn.

I've lost count on how many times I've listened to this already...

This is the kind of thing that made me fall in love with Helluva Boss… this is what made me willing to put up with all the sex jokes (which _as a fan of the series_ I can say are hit or miss) and the gore. Just the raw, unfiltered EMOTION. In my opinion, this is the show at its absolute best.

This is the first adult targeted cartoon that I really enjoy a lot, and I think a big part of it is due to the right balance between the gore, the mature jokes and other type of humour, and the heavy plot line. That’s the kind of adult cartoon I need more of, i really enjoy how its made.

This definitely deserves to be on trending. The voice actor for Stolas went all out and it’s fucking incredible. Edit: NOOOO ITS OFF TRENDING

This is also symbolism in that when he does the cord let go with the Blitz moon (ya know what I’m talking about right?) and then the moon gets bigger it’s like he’s losing control and connection and is trying so hard to get it back

I love how at the end the moon is impossible to hold and just out of reach knowing he can’t do anything because the ball is now in blitz’s court, but as he’s falling into the terrifying depths of unknown of what blitz will decide he promises that if blitz gives him the chance he will work in the relationship and save them but he needs blitz’s permission to do so. Gosh what a good visual representation of a complicated relationship and just that terror of knowing you need to relinquish control and are left only to hope and have faith that your partner will choose you the same as you choose them all on their own.

This song has to be my favorite from the series, not just because stolas is my fav character and comfort character, but I can relate to him so much. I hope him and blitz can stop being so stubborn and truly make amends and get together already. 😞😤😭❤️💜

Imagine an animator from the 1920’s watching this and seeing how far art has come. Bryce knocked it out of the park again. The animation is amazingly smooth, and the visuals are stunning. It's crazy that we went from Stolas and Blitzo's relationship being a crude joke to now being so complex that it delivers us this powerhouse of emotions. Stolas is one of my all time favorite characters in any media. He's gorgeous. He's sophisticated. He's tragic. He's got a heart of gold. He's so wonderfully written and designed. His voice actor does him ultimate justice. I initially didn't like his design in the pilot, but it's leagues better now. I wish I could give stolas a hug and tell him that everything will be okay. He really needs a good friend. It seems like he's really carrying all of the cosmos on his shoulders completely alone. It seems like only Octavia really has a true connection with him (Blitzø has room for redemption, but he's just needs to really work on himself and his relationship with our sorrowful prince.)

The lyric changes from the original song just make this so much more painful and emotional - we see that stolas doesnt just treat Blitzo as his "impish plaything" but as his dearest, The voicecracks full of pain are so powerful and expressive. So glad Paranoid DJ got to have this song animated. Was in tears when i saw this for the first time. I absolutely love that Stolas sees Blitzo as vulnerable and acknowledges that hes in pain and puts his walls up but hes still trying to fight to show him he loves him and he yearns for him. Cant express how gorgeous everything about this video is.

i watched this before watching Helluva Boss and cried my eyes out. Now that I've watched the show, it hurts so bad that I can't even sing to it anymore.

You know shit is real when Stolas' white pupils are visible. The raw emotion from this song was enough to bring tears to my eyes, and the story it tells with Stolas' love for the moon (Blitzø) growing more and more, but as it grows, it becomes harder to control and further out of his reach. Well done to everyone who was a part of this ❤
