Interestingly enough, the dad-off was almost entirely meaningless to Alastor. In a Live Q&A, Vivziepop explained that Alastor felt naturally threatened by Lucifer, and knowing that Lucifer was more powerful, Alastor thought of ways to get under Lucifer's skin. Naturally, he arrived at the conclusion that Lucifer wanted a stronger relationship with Charlie, which was something he could exploit to one-up Lucifer.

That’s exactly what I thought was happening! I’m so glad vixie COMFIRMED it because I’ve been saying it for a while alastor’s main problem and the thing that will definitely bring his downfall is that he’s too overly confident and proud of his own power that’s why he lost to Adam

@ena4452 Well even without the confirmation, it's very easy to see. I ran the checklist, and it might be very little surprise that Alastor is a psychopath, which explains a lot of his behaviors, from grandiose sense of self-worth to manipulation, criminal versatility, shallow affect, superficial charm, etc. And a commonly used tactic of psychopaths is social engineering, which focuses on preying on others' emotional vulnerabilities, like with lucifer.

HAHAHA yeah the apple cane and snake on his hat are from the 'adam and eve' thing! 😂 he transformed into a snake to lure eve to eat the apple. this lucifer also embraced a circus ringmaster theme for himself since he leads the rings of hell. it's fun how they did it

mimzy was - ugh - *A Lot*, but she drops that alastor lore in the creepiest, spine-chilling-est way. i'm also a big fan of jeremy jordan's casting: he's got that same disney-esque vocal quality that charlie has (literally - he's done work for disney before) AND he can pull off some interesting modulations, like he does with "hell's greatest dad".

you said you bought an alastor shirt, that's awesome! i bought an alastor hoodie that says "you're never fully dressed without a smile!" and a t-shirt with alastor and angel dust on it. they came in on wednesday, i absolutely love them!

Jeremy Jordan has a beautiful voice and I was so exited when I heard he was going to be Lucifer

Lucifer and Sir Pentious are hands-down my favorite characters in this show. Lucifer for more sentimental reasons as he reminds me of my own father, and not in a bad way either. The song he sings with Charlie is so damn beautiful. Really caught me off-guard when I first watched this show, lol.

Long awaited episode. The song with Lucifer and Charlie was phenomenal. Lucifer is my favorite and most relatable character. The next episode is kinda rough. But it's gonna be great. Brace for a wild ride

Oml you calling adam dickmaster and putting the apple symbolism together at the end made me giggle! better late than never xD. I legit watch each vid like 3x. I love this addaption of Lucifer, i love this idea of lucifer still being an angle. We learn he at one point tried to save his people jst as charlie is doing now. I like the idea of him trying to save his people but the combination of Heavens rejection and the evil of humanity is what broke him. Then to make it worse it appears Lilith took charlie from him when she was still really small. So it makes sence he would hate alastor and his jabs at his ego as a bad dad. Im going to drop a little lore. In this version of hell, there are the 9 rings of hell, each ran by a hell born royal demon or exceptionally powerful demon that embodies a sin. Lucifer is ruler of the pride ring while being the king of hell. The pride ring is where ALL sinners are contained. I assume to make the exterminations easier while also punishing Lucifer. Sinners are unique because they were human, and have Immortal souls, if they 'die' in hell they will eventually reform. But from what i understand its a very slow and painful prossess. while hell born demons such as Imps, succubi and hell hounds can and do die if killed either in hell or earth, they dont have immortal souls. They also allowed to go between the rings freely, including the pride ring. Its only the sinners tht cant leave. The other rings of hell and glimses into hells Monarchy get explored in Helluva Boss. 😊❤

I think hes starting to slightly support the hotels people and ideals, despite him not realizing it. He's been very genuine and fierce about protecting them, even sending Mimzy, his long time friend, away because she brought danger to them. He also made it clear that she was welcome to attempt redemption, but he knew she would never do that. I feel like if he didn't at all believe in redemption then he wouldn't have even offered it to Mimzy

That's certainly true, but my feeling is that he's doing it because he HAS to, not because he actually personally cares. We know that *someone* is holding his leash, and based on the the power-scaling we see in the finale, whoever that is must be at least on the same level as Lucifer. The most common theory is that it's Lilith holding Alastor's leash, and she's assigned him to take care of her daughter and see to it that the hotel has a chance of succeeding. But we'll see what happens as Season 2 plays out.

yeah, jazz was kinda a thing for 1920s, I'm sure. Alastor likes to stick to his era... and origin. He still speaks in transatlantic accent people used in the past, for example. It's funny how Alastor not only stole the song from Lucifer, he also stole the episode with more lore..

A banger to say the least

I suspect that when I do my before season 2 rewatch (I will watch the whole thing a few times) but this is where I would start. And it is 4 5 and 6 where I think you have your biggest emotional roller coaster, you are upset for Angel, this episode is so sweet, and then where episode 6 ends you feel some righteous fury and worry.
