His original conception was as a cannibal in Zoophobia, which he didn't make it into; between that and him being a serial killer, it seems reasonable that he was a cannibal, even though Vivzie never confirmed that about his final form. Faustisse said they don't think he was, but they also weren't a writer, so that was just speculation on their part. So... we don't know either way.

I really like Sir Pentious's name. if you didnt figure it out already, his name Sir Pentious is a play on the word Serpent, but ALSO a play on the word Pretentious, which means "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed." hes an Arrogant/Overconfident snake boy. Pretentious Serpent...Sir Pentious lol, love it

My favorite thing is that Vox had like forty tv monitors, a whole crew, and multiple TV shows to broadcast his “superiority”. Alastor had 1930’s technology, and made Vox self destruct. Love it. Also, if you go back and pause at Vox’s blue screen it has funny details of what his software is experiencing.

I like how whenever Vox gets angry, not only does his body emit electricity, but his voice starts to sound more like its going through a filter

I was rooting for Sir Pentious to turn from mole to patron, too. Just didn't expect it to happen in five minutes, lol. He's adorable and it just gets better with each episode.

This is a fact about Valentino (Val for short) if you listen carefully, very carefully they added a detail cause since moths squeak and Val is a moth demon, if you listen carefully whenever he talks he squeaks like a moth which is a cool detail they added to the character

Sir Pentious is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters in this show. Fun fact: he's played by Alex Brightman, who also played Adam in the first episode. He also plays a character called Fizzarolli in Helluva Boss. I've been a fan of his since I saw him play Beetlejuice on Broadway, so I've been loving seeing him turn up in these shows.

Also for the Hazbin Stans, the old lore may not measure up now. Creative hands and all, and it being four years. However, yes he was a serial killer in New Orleans. He was burying a body and was mistaken for a deer and killed. Not sure if the same lore stands.

I absolutely love "Stayed Gone" it's one of my favorites, though all the songs bop! I've loved Alastor since the Pilot though all the characters have grown on me. I am already done with episode 6 lol, but I love watching you catch up!

Both Pentious and Adam are voiced by Alex Brightman who was Beetlejuice in the Beetlejuice musical and Fizz in Helluva Boss.

So said directly by vivsie herself Alastair was a serial killer and was shot by a hunter assuming he was a deer whilst Alastair was out right eating his victim and the mistake of assuming hes a deer combined with him partaking in canabalistic acts is why hes actually meant to be depicted as a wendigo not just a deer. Meanwhile him being a radio personality and being from new Orleans manifested in his radio control and voodoo powers. And for some the way they died has to do with their appearance and for others there are other factors for example angel dust died of a PCP overdose but manifests as a spider because all of angels mob family manifests as spider demons

​@@shoulderBirbYou could go back and watch the art cleanup videos by Ashley Nichols when they were working on the pilot episode. There was a lot of discussion about a lot of the characters. However, one thing OP here got slightly incorrect is that Viv said Alastor shares Wendigo traits because she's a really big fan of that lore and is very knowledgeable about wendigos, but it's not explicitly what he is. I believe she talked about that later in episode 7 of the art cleanup. It was either episode 6 or 7, I'm not sure which one.

Not quite true. We know that Alastor (not Alastair) was mixed Creole and probably a radio show host. In his free time he also was a serial killer. It's true that he is from Lousiana (probably New Orleans). He was caught by a hunter when he tried to bury a corpse. The hunter thought he is a deer and that's why he shot him (inbetween the eyes, the x markes the spot in Stayed Gone song). The Vodoo stuff might be because of Alastors ancestors or because where he came from. Vivzie never stated he was a cannibal when he was alive, although he is now as a sinner and Overlord. Why and how he started cannibalism at and how he do know Rosie (the cannibal Overlord) is yet to be discovered. And for the Angel Dust/Anthony story: It's not because of his family but rather because he (and has whole family) was in the Mafia. He was caught in the Family Business. And here it meant it quite literally. Caught like a prey in a spider web. That's why he is a spider. And why the rest of the family does lookalike it's because of the same reason, though different circumstances.

My favorite thing about alastor is the very real serial killer that inspired his style, the radio demon who broadcasts his slaughter Hes inspired by the man who is potentially responsible for the fact that jazz is so popular in the New Orleans The axeman of new orleans

Most of the character's backstory that got spread around came from Vivziepop herself or someone that worked on Hazbin Hotel's pilot HOWEVER, most of them were said BEFORE the Hazbin Hotel got picked up by A24 studio. So it's unknown if some of them still holds true. For now, Vivziepop haven't said anything or for the show to tell otherwise.

This is one of the best episodes. Love the musical face-off between Al and Vox. I can never get enough of that last scene

Alastor is definitely my favorite character but I have a soft spot for Vaggie. She's so supportive of Charlie even though everyone else acts like her idea is a joke.

Most people don't know this but the Vox-tech commercial voice is Alex Brightman (Adam, Sir Pentious) too!

I can't wait until you watch episode 6 that'll be awesome to see what you think about episodes 6. LOL in a week I'll make a similar comment about episode 7 or 8 more than likely LOL

Alastor is my absolute fav, but I do love Vaggie. Just watched episode 6 and I totally guessed her actual backstory before it was revealed, but I won't spoil it.

I would say Sir Pentious is my favorite but maybe because I love all the voices his voice actor does. Alex Brightman also does the voice for Adam! And in Helluva Boss, he’s the voice of Fizzaroli! Which he also was the voice of RoboFizz in the Loo Loo Land episode you watched of Helluva Boss!

To clarify on Alastor's backstory: yes, he was a serial killer and at least within the demon realm, a cannibal. For those who are doubtful of the cannibal aspect, please go search for the official comic of him that was made a few years ago that literally shows him ordering meat from a cannibal deli, and then eating the demon running it after he tries to kill a young lady demon; Alastor is very old fashioned, and people believe that respect/chivalry/protectiveness of women is part of his personality, to some extent. He's also shown eating a rotting deer in episode 3 of this show which counts considering his elk/deer-like demon qualities. He is also canonically close friends with another overlord who is from the cannibal town whose name is Rosie, if I recall correctly. She appears in episode 3 as well during the overlords' meeting. Yes, he was shot after being mistaken for a deer by a hunter while out in the woods burying his victims' bodies/remains. He has a small "X" that appears in between his eyes where the bullet hit him.

It seems interesting to state that you might have some mix feelings about the “Vees”, but mostly on the main leader being Valentino. As he is going to be some fans to feel triggered about the type of character he is to his employees in the P industry. But he only goes for his main focus employee to be Angel Dust. So brace yourself once you reach to the 4th episode. Also this might be a surprise to say that Sir Pent is voiced by the same VA who done Robo Fizz in Helluva Boss in the Lo Lo Land Episode. With all said, it seems interesting to state as well that you can hear some unique animal, audio and more features from each character having a unique sound to them. For example: •Alastor having a Wendigo sound effect because it’s the folk legend of a monster that is a deer demon •Vox has tv sound effect that it sound like auto adjustments of up and down sound waves •Valentino seem to squeaking like a Moth. Since moths do indeed squeak when dealing with stress or anger

Glad you like Sir Pentious. Some background lore on him= He was originally going to be a one-shot character for the pilot and not return. But fans loved him so much, the creators changed thier minds and not only brought him back but... do I say it...Ah some already have down below. If anyone has NOT watched the full season and don't want to be spoiled.. skip below . . . . . yeah Sir Pentious was such a fan fave that he became the very first character to prove Charlie's dream is possible when he ascends to Heaven.

I'm not sure if you reacted to Addict music video or know of Angel Dusts situation and abuse by Valentino... but you're going to be getting a very close look into it in Ep 4 when you get up there. Something I like about this show is it's got some very deep and dark undertones and it's not all a joke.

The form Sinners take in Hell have several influences, and Yes, one of them is how they died. 1- How they died= Alastor represents this, you got his back story right... only thing to add is that Alastor was a serial killer/ cannibal and used a deer field to hide bodies, a hunter killed him. Thus why he has deer elements. Over at Helluva Boss (HH's sister show) Lyle Liption & Loopty Goopty also fall into this, they were artifically aged into old age. Even though he was aged only moments before he died, Loopty took on the aged form. Lipton also had the new aged form, but he actually died from a falling piano, so as a Sinner demon Lipton had piano keys as teeth. 2- How they lived.= fits Angel Dust. All members of Angel's family was a Mafia family, and they take spider form in afterlife, it's to reflect the "web of crime" they lived by in life. This also influences Alastor as he was a radio personality in life, now he's the Radio Demon. Also he was a cannibal, and some claim his sharp teeth reflects this.

Calling Alastor "Crowley" is fun because it reminds me of the real world occult magician Aleister Crowley

Yeah Alastor was a cannibal serial killer who was mistaken for a deer when he was disposing of remains, I remember seeing a comic strip somewhere where he would eat venison when he couldn’t get human. Not sure if that’s canon but it’s a bit of an elaboration on his deer motif.

Unless his power only effects certain people or has a time limit. Angel was able to shake it off pretty fast. However, Vox can use hypnosis too. Maybe if they were to convince him to help, he and Sir Pentious could double team it, though I doubt that will ever happen considering Vox absolutely hates Alastor and anyone associated with him.
