    First of all: Great Vid. Very helpful for those Ground Attackers. Would these Techniques also apply to the Tempest, or would you have to make a different approach in that aircraft?

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    2 жыл бұрын

    The Tempest doesn't have the adjustable sight so you would have to apply the sight picture from the Typhoon and make the same kind of entries for it to work.

    Hello, first of all thanks for the video, it's very well made. I've a question related to the altitude reference. Do you release the bomb by looking at the altimeter reading or just by "feeling" of the right moment? I've seen in the video part related to the bridge bomb attack, that you start the attack at around 3700 feet (according to the onboard altimeter), than start the 20° dive and release bomb at around 1700 feet (according to the instrument). In the explanation you refer to 3000 feet for start and 1000 feet for the release. Why is there around 700 feet of offset? Thanks

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    6 ай бұрын

    3700ft is altitude MSL (Mean Sea Level) while 3000ft is height AGL (Above Ground Level). The elevation of that area is 700ft above sea level, hence the difference.

    Was that a little Marder that got a rocket to the face? Germans had so many self propelled guns its kinda hard to keep track of them,lol,excellent video as usual, man you have a knack for this stuff, you could have been a good pilot back in WW2

  • @RequiemsACTL

    I only use TrackIR, but I believe you can do that using a snap view key so as long as you hold the key down you override TrackIR I think

    I'm curious how you came up with these attack parameters. Was it trial and error in game, or is there some reference material you used? Seeing you hit the bridge made me realize that I ought to graduate from "gut feel yeeting" of ordinance.

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    I always try and use historically based techniques when I can find them, but in situations like the Typhoon when I can't find an exact technique I usually start out with a standard attack profile then see how it goes and make adjustments as needed. The nice thing with the Typhoon is the adjustable sight, so that can be set to accommodate whatever profile you come up with.

    I think the ap rockets were mainly used for anti-submarine warfare so using ap rockets against tanks would probably be less realistic than normal rp3

  • @aemmerich
    @aemmerich2 жыл бұрын

    Rockets are definitely my poorest air-to-ground skill, primarily because they are hard to aim and secondarily because I have no idea how much ordinance it takes to eliminate some of the heavier targets. I've lost count of the many Tigers I've wasted all my rockets on in separate runs with no discernable damage dealt.

  • @RequiemsACTL

    Once you get your technique down you'll find the Typhoon rockets are the best ones in the game. They pack such a big punch and are super satisfying to use. Against tanks I don't think you need to shoot all 8 at once like I did though.

    The principle of how to perform this attack should still apply. If you can't adjust the sight downward in WT then you'll need to imagine where the correct aiming point is relative to your fixed sight position.
