    I've played around with this, a bit, and found that as long as the speed is over 500 km/h, and you don't come in from a too steep a dive, and you drop the bomb at 500 meters or below, you'll hit.

    Hmm I wonder if I can apply this to my awful bombing in the FW-190 D-9 in DCS. It's only got that gyro site but I wonder if I can make it work like a revi by adjusting the range setting.

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    3 жыл бұрын

    We have the gyro in the Il-2 Fw-190 D-9 as well so others may be able to verify it too. I expect that it should work no problem as long as you adjust the wingspan and range correctly to create an 180 mil diameter ring, becauses the vertical line of the REVI is 90 mil from the center to bottom.

    Very useful I've used similar at low altitude but this works from a safer level & speed. Do the contact fuses work on the Russian bombs as well? They don't seem to explode unless I set it to 5 seconds or more. Not sure if any tutorials cover the fuses?

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    3 жыл бұрын

    There is something with the Russian fuses...I think you need to give them sufficient time to arm or something if using contact fuses, so if you're dropping contact fuse bombs you won't want to do it at very low altitudes.

    Another great video mate. However, may I ask if this technique works with high angle 80-90 degree dives like the Stuka’s signature dive? (Sorry if this might sound silly).

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    3 жыл бұрын

    No it won't because in that really steep Stuka dive you're essentially placing the target either on or just under the crosshair so there isn't much lead involved. Placing the target in position using this technique results in a larger amount of lead, but a much shallower dive.

I have turned aim assist on to see what i do wrong and it always seems that when i think im at 500 meters and I have atleast 700 kph and its placed right where it should be i have to pull almost full left rudder to keep it in place. And even though i am coordinated the bombs always fall to the side by 5 meters to much. Could it be that I apply to much rudder and its causing slip even though the target is right under the revi ? And another wird thing is that when i have close to 800 meter and have it right under the sc50 bombs seems to alternate between falling short or far by 5 meters as well. Sorry for such a long answer but had to get it out of my head hahah

    @@RequiemsACTL Sorry that i never got back to you. The method works just as nicely in War Thunder. The only difference is that I play with a PS4 controller and don't dive as steady as you do. However, if you maintain a similar dive angle at a target at speeds over 450 kph-ish and release the bomb, it tends to fall directly on target. Very few things feel as good as getting the notification "target undamaged" followed by "target destroyed" when you do this. It feels so bad ass to know that you've been getting direct hits on the targets! Haha! Thanks for making these videos. I wish to someday learn so much more from you.
