A beautiful Hawaiian day made for a great flight out of the islands. You get a great view of the reef runway just after takeoff and and you catch glimpses of the other islands as we climbed to our cruising altitude.
I didn't include the landing in this video. It was dark by the time we landed and there wasn't much to see. Hope you enjoy the video!

Maika'i (good) that you provided the plane's name. Most people don't. Did you know that most inter-island planes (B717s) are named after endangered native birds? Or that overseas jets are named after the stars used by traditional navigators to wayfind canoes like Hokule'a? I always look for the name when I board a Hawaiian Air plane, but too often the open door obscures it. On your next trip, try sitting on the left side when departing for very different views.

Normally I sit on the left side but the only available seats when I booked were on the right side.

@@SIHAviation So u heldd it, hang your right hand up during the video? For your video kinda stabilize into its position towards aircrafts movement
Noticed you got a better angle on the engine/reverser than the inbound flight to HNL from 1A. I’ve got 3J on my next flight out and then 3A on the way back-any tips? Is this a GoPro? Suction mount?

Nice! I'm sitting in 3J on Sunday from LAX-HNL and 3A on the way back. I use my iPhone to film with a suction mount.
