Hat Yai Food is INCREDIBLE 🇹🇭 Epic Noodle and Fried Chicken FEAST in THAILAND!
Learn Thai with the method that I personally use at learnthaifromawhiteguy.com where you'll get 5 free lessons to see how great it is before you sign up. Use the code ROAM at the checkout to get 15% Off ANY COURSE.
Today I want to show you the diverse city of Hat Yai, the biggest city in Southern Thailand!
With it's close proximity to the Malaysian border, Hat Yai has some really amazing Malay food. The best in my opinion is the incredible Penang food at Kip's Hokkien Mee. Here I tried Pad Mee Hokkien (fried yellow noodles) Prawn Mee / Hokkien Mee (Prawn noodle soup) and the classic Penang dish, Char Kuay Teow (fried rice noodles in soy sauce).
This feast came to 195 THB - £4.70 / $5.70

After that, seeing Hat Yai is the home of fried chicken in Thailand, I headed to Kai Tod Decha for some crispy goodies!
Here I got wings and a drumstick, a som tam and a Thai tea for 130 THB - £3.10 / $3.50

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this KZread channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!
I’ve never understood travelling to a town or city and not eating the local food. How else do you really connect with a place? Let’s get out and explore together and I guarantee you’ll find a whole different side to this wonderful country.
If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!

“ Hat Yai fired chicken “ so famous. So freaking tasty!! You can see it every where in Thailand. Especially De-cha fired chicken !! ไก่ทอดหากใหญ่
Gary, l am your big fan. As a Hatyai local, I was so excited to watch this video and even more thrilled to see you walked pass my house almost at the end of this video (the green house on your right from 26.20 to 26.30 minutes). At least my house is seen by thousands of your viewers and subscribers throughout the world, wow. Gary, if you have not noticed, please go back and watch this video again and you will see my house right there. Keep up the good work, Gary.

Fried chicken is variable in every country of Thailand But The Hatyai fried chicken is specialty .It's not the same recipe as other province of Thailand .Its call " Kai Tod Hatyai" or you can search "ไก่ทอดหาดใหญ่' You must try its very Tasty . The original must eat with crispy fried shallot and sticky rice . It's famous in Thailand .You must try :))))) (sorry for grammar )
I open youtube and listen to the sound along with working, the channel will run the clip automatically, when you come across your channel, listen only to the sound. I know it's you Because your British accent is very unique.
ยินดีต้อนรับสู่หาดใหญ่ เมื่อก่อนหาดใหญ่คึกคักมากๆ ปัจจุบันเหมือนเมืองล้าง

Yeah I don't know why but papaya salad goes well with the Asian style chicken. I know for sure you been around when you commented on the type of music they had blasting in one of your previous videos. It had me laughing honestly. I associate that type of music to the type of music they got blasting at the Mexican flea markets. For context for some of those who may not understand. Enjoying your interactions with the locals and honestly I think you are indirectly helping teach Thai to some of your viewers by doing that.
