Hasheem Thabeet NBA Highlights

Спорт

Can go off either shoulder, can block shots, good finisher, makes his free throws, decent mid range game, good for 12-16 minutes a game with some energy, a few points and a few rebounds, with a couple blocks and solid defence.

    Watching this vid reminds me how talented he was and still is. By the end of his last yr before coming into the league, his offense improved in leaps and bounds. He did and still does have a really pretty jump hook shot and more importantly it's completely unstoppable. In the vid above you see him have a couple including a gorgeous left handed one from 8 feet or so. But lets say he never improved offensively, he still is a god on the boards an easily 1 of the bets shot-blockers period!

    If he was drafted by a different team he definitely could’ve been better. The grizzlies were already set for the future so they just took the best player available. At the time Thabeet was the best available. The Grizzlies didn’t have any center coaches to help Hashemite and the only mentor he had was Gasol who was only in his second season. If Thabeet was on a different team so he could immediately be a starter then he could’ve been something special.

  • @shaheedharun445

    @shaheedharun445

    2 жыл бұрын

    You are kidding yourself! LOL if you honestly think that "Thabeet was the best player available att" then you are -100% bad at projecting or determining NCAA talent for the NBA! I will not base it on the fact that Grizz pass up Harden, Steph, Derozan, Jrue Holiday, and even Rubio or RoY Tyreke Evans... for true that Steph, Jrue, and Derozan did not have a #2 draft projection (tho Memphis could've traded down too) it's all hindsight so it wouldn't be fair. So let's only talk about Thabeet... he was a 22 yr and 7'1.25" Center at UConn. So 1) 22 year olds DO NOT get drafted at #2 overall as they are already very developed and lack the CEILING and bell curve POTENTIAL!!! They don't have the improvement scale. And basically what u see is what you get. 2) Thabeet greatly lacked productivity in college, especially for a senior his age and height! His final year in college Thabeet in 31.8 mpg he scored only 13.6 ppg, 0.5 ast, and 0.6 stl. Even adding his high rebs & blks avg his overall productivity rate including turnovers is only 85.5. And just 69.5 & 62.8 his first 2 years, where he was still old for his class. Yet that kind of productivity for a 22 yr old 7'3" listed college player is VERY poor! 3) Thabeet never displayed much talent anywhere during his amateur career of HS and college. He wasn't even ranked in top 60 of high school bball seniors coming out. 4) He completely lacked a pro-style, where he had any type of shooting skill or passing, scoring, or ability to stretch the court. As low of a scorer as Thabeet was at UConn, he still had a 28.8 pts to assist ratio his last 2 yrs at UConn. It doesn't get worse than that! HT Contrasting AGE with PRODUCTION, where you want the former _low_ and the latter _high_, Thabeet could not have faired any worse as an NCAA pro prospect! This is elementary Draft 101 Finally for a guy averaging 1.2, 1.1, and 1.2 ppg for a whole season for 3 different teams, makes you out of your fkn mind for saying "well if only he played for a different team" ..... my guess is that you are wrong on draft picks very very very very OFTEN! No doubt about it

    He was terrible period! It's not cause of injuries. He had a very low ceiling as a draftee, where his overall productivity was very low for a 22 year old college player! Yes he had high rebs and blocks, but factor is his points, assists, steals, and turnovers it all added up very low - cause he had minutes as well. He was never good for even a second in the NBA

    I mean that trade Portland made, was a great fuckin, but like every fuckin trade/signing they have done for 2 full decades, it's either been a complete bust, or like what Portland is definitely the best team at and has been as long as that 20 year curse - an that is completely 100% under-utilize their players and if so many instances they completely derail/destroy what was left of those under-utilized-player's careers. After trading Camby for Hasheem they then didnt even attempt to keep Thabeet!

    Honestly Thabeet never even had a Chance. The Grizzles organization was all over the place, No structure, Had a Great Team and as a organization dropped the ball big time. Mike Conely, OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol. When you have that many weapons and still fall short. Its the Higher Ups fault at that point. Coaches, GM, Staff, ect...and Lets not act like the Grizzles have been this amazing organization prior to Thabeet. He got dealt a bad hand. As amazing as organization can be some of them are just absolutely terrible with Developing Young Talent. Thabeet was 7'3 and Yall couldnt figure out what to do? If Thabeet had of started out in OKC he probably wouldve developed better but by the time OKC got him the roster had too many Bigs and they were already starting. Thabeet hardly got to play in OKC but this happens to players and they get scapegoated and called bust because organization ducks all accountability for being a Trash organization

    How the fuck is there no tm willing to make room for him while also playin him often. More importantly there is not 1 team that not only has the room-but without a shred of doubt could have if utilized correctly could and certainly still could contribute greatly to any damn team! Like I said-even if he just blocks shots an pull down a shit ton of rebounds-which he still can do easily, aswell as add garbage points, which by the way is what almost every single starting Center is required to do!

He sure as hell can rebound an block shots better than Camby, an thats almost the only thing Camby does well. Plus Hasheem's bigger plus being significantly stronger, an in addition he has far better offensive skills than Camby has, aswell as being younger an more athletic!
