It will be interesting to see if Silver et al will weigh the cost/benefits and possibly shorten the season. We all know the owners want to maximize profits...but if you have guys like Durant and Klay going down like they did...that really, really dilutes your product.

What I love the most about Giannis is that he manifested his destiny. Giannis wasn’t a top prospect out of high school or college. We didn’t track him for years before his nba debut. No one really thought Giannis could be this good. I think that’s the most amazing part. Everything you see this man do on the court is 100% the result of his hard work and determination. Giannis could have been that skinny kid he was when he was drafted and we wouldn’t have even looked at him as a good player. Many people don’t remember he was a part of the 2015 dunk contest. He was a completely different man back then but I would say he had a bad night and maybe that was his first time experiencing failure on a national stage. The pressure wasn’t huge for him to win the contest but I can see a lot of other players getting affected a lot more by a lot less. Giannis might be an athletic freak of nature but his mindset is his biggest weapon.

no one Well...his team did. Giannis did well on fast breaks in the 3rd quarter and finished one of the worst +/- on the team. He had 5 teammates shoot 12/20 combined on 3s. That’s why they won. Giannis played okay but he wasn’t the biggest reason they won.

Far from the worst draft class, it has Giannis, Oladipo, Gobert, McCollum, and Adams, and draft was pretty deep. It was the projection, but all changed when Giannis became what he is now.

You cannot compare a perimeter defender with a interior defender. You cannot say for example, Scottie Pippen is a better defender than Mutombo because it's not the same kind of defense.

@@danb6451 Scottie Pippen is a better defender than Mutombo. He can do it all, he's the greatest defender ever : that's a wrong example. Scottie can defend anybody 1-on-1 as we saw him lock Magic, Barkley, Ewing and so on. A better example of what you're trying to say would be "You cannot say for example, Gary Payton is a better defender than Mutombo" and indeed, that is tough to compare.

Champ Magat probably the best dunk ever in a real nba game, like vice carter was the only other player ever to jump over a player and dunk but it was in the an Olympic game, and that dunk was ranked number 1 of all time by the nba. So since he actually did it in a real game off of an alley oop, my man definitely has the best dunk of all times in a nba game no lie

@@SuperBram77 What does him being super skinny have anything to do with it? He was just underweight, but still 18 and growing. He always had a frame that could pack a ton of muscle. It's not like Brandon Ingram or KD where it is clear they will struggle to put on weight. Giannis was always very physical even when he was skinny. What made him a risky pick was how raw his technique was. He was taken purely based on potential because of his ridiculous physical tools.

I got to see the Bucks play my Pels a few years back, (back when Bucks weren't one of the dominant teams). Went to go see young Giannis. Me and my buddy got better seats than we normally did, because they were cheap. We ended up getting 5th row (I've sat closer, but not back then). Been to over 100 NBA games, watched NBA all my life.... so clearly, I understand that basketball players... are big. But Giannis. My god. It was literally insane to see him up close. 6'11 and moves like a guard. It's one thing to see it on TV, but seeing dude in person is really like "Woah".

Have not watched NBA for decades since the MJs (Michael J and Magic Johnson) and this guy is pretty catching up with NBA greats and he is still young. He has power and quickness in his moves. Time will tell but at the pace he is playing - he will be one of them sooner than later barring major injuries. Hope he remains humble and down to earth once he gets to the top. Who knows, he could possibly be the greatest.
