Our emotions are a product of random mixed chemicals and neural impulses that have been adapted through evolution as a survival mechanism to meet a survival need. That's their worldview... That we all came into existence through pure randomness with no cause at all. We came from nothing. And then something presumably exploded from that nothing. And from the resulted rocks and unimaginable amounts of heat, force and radiation, the perfect conditions for life were created. And then from those rocks, life appeared. And then we all evolved from primordial slime. You tell me that faith means there is no evidence, but I tell you that you are way more faithful than I am if you believe all that. Don't trust in something just because it sounds smart and some people say it's true. Think with your own mind, search for yourself, but be weary. If you're wrong, eternal suffering is awaiting for you. Is it worth the risk? Give God a chance to give you another chance. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Pray for Him. I will pray for you. Your obedience to God out of love for God (John 14:15) is the key to your deliverance from any sin that you are bound in (Hebrews 5:9). Peace to you!

Keep trying. Repentance is what he needs. Keep asking him to change your heart so it is tender towards him, pray fast and immerse yourself in the lord. As long as you really want to change and don't make peace with sin you are saved. Remember he wants what's best for us and is faithful.

This will sound crazy and simplistic...it is entirely biblical. ..but Jesus already forgave you of every sin past present and future. God doesn't even remember them nor any other you will commit. Heb 10 (please read entire chapter) says jesus blood cleanses you from a guilty conscience. When you finally get THAT...and stop trying to stop...God will take this sin from you. This is Based on my 45 year pirn addiction. 10 years as a Christian.

As a single Christian, I have had seasons of darkness and fornication and each time my life fell apart. Loneliness and depression returned like a tsunami; I wanted my lust more than God, I felt guilty and erratic and insatiable at the same time. Yet, I always feel light and content with the Lord when I am chaste. I felt like I lost my intimacy with the Lord, even after repentance. But healing takes time. God slowly changes the will so deep down you actually WANT healing. Please don't stop fighting everyone. Start with one day without porn, and if you make it, thank God for the victory. Then aim for 2 days. Your breakthrough will come. As a fornicator, I know I need to avoid the initial situations of temptation. Even a text message with subtle innuendo could set me off. But God did not design our bodies to be made like rams in heat, needing daily release. Think of ancient monks etc. The body can obey the mind with spiritual training. You are not an exception. It can be done. Arousal begins in the mind. Our brain chemistry has changed because of the onslaught of pornography in our culture. It is hard, but not impossible. Just keep choosing alternatives- avoid, where possible, your triggers- even a normal movie with raunchy sex scene is not going to help a brain that is quickly wired to arousal. Stay away from sexually-charged music videos, friends who use innuendo in their conversations etc. You can't expect God to take away your addiction if you don't take responsibility for the small things around you. Flee from sin. Whatever that means for you personally. Sex is everywhere. But God is bigger. And he can fill your heart so much that illicit sex has no room anymore.

Goodness Gracious I had this sin listen to me you can overcome it I'll tell you how it happened for me hope this helps you it was when I I heard THE WORD OF GOD THE FEAR OF GOD went through me And since that my sin was completely removed I've stayed clear from it so you can overcome it too ya have to really want to stop if you don't GOD will shake you up way HE did with me not in a bad way in such a way it wakes you up that's how HE done it for me it worked GOD will use tough love when needed what any good father would do just stay strong we fight battles everyday remember satan is the liar he will try deceive you make you think what your doing ok in your heart u know it's wrong it's GOD telling you it's wrong that's how you know GOD is with you fighting sin is a good sign your wrestling it there's people that don't wrestle it they sit in it and don't really care then there's people may enjoy it want to fight it and be free from it just pray to GOD and read the bible try take your mind of things the bible will help you just take time to read it than sinning it will make you stronger if you feel like you wanna sin or going to sin run to THE WORD OF GOD and just sit and read just read aslong as possible then your sinning thought's will flee after you read it pray to GOD to protect you and guard you and HE will GOD BE YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS.

TheTruth IsViral I recommend to not put masturbation above God, even when you have the strongest urge to. For “you shall have no other Gods before me” in exodus 20:3. You may be questioning why I am quoting this verse out of all of them. I am bringing this verse in because of what the word “gods” meant in the commandment. It means not just literal idols but things you put above God and things you value more than him. There could also be certain things that are making you have such lust and desire to masturbate. And Jesus saids “If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown in hell.” Matthew 5:29. So if there are certain things that make you lust, get rid of them. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13. I will pray for you that you may not lust and masturbate, for once you do it, it is hard to turn back. Just like drugs, smoking and alcohol, they can be very addictive. Satan creates a stronghold when addiction kicks in. And I will also pray for you that you may not doubt God and his mighty power and word and everlasting gospel and counter your temptation, that God may destroy satan’s stronghold in you.

Amen, prayed for you. But I must ask, who are these women you're texting with who are sending you sexual inuendos?! They better not be calling themselves followers of Christ. But then if they're worldly, why are you texting with them when you should be sharing the Gospel with them and inviting them to Bible study and to be discipled by women and leaving it at that? Seriously though, if these girls say they follow Christ and are purposefully trying to sexually stimulating you with their texts outside of marriage, I just don't know what to say about them..... I had this addiction for over 40 years. I thought I was done and fell one more time. I was sick with myself. I told God I would rather starve to death then continue in this bondage and did a 5 day water fast. God blessed me beyond measure. Not only am I now free for the 1st time but I amd closer to God then I ever though imaginable. I feel for the 1st time I truly understand his love and mercy for me which make me love him more then I thought was possible. I have learned repentance is more then words and sorrow it is an action. Me too I have been struggling since 12. And everyday it haunted me. Not feeling like I really am saved having an on and off relationship with god. It made be feel hopeless and abandoned. I jus didn't have the willpower to do it. But now I just went a week without doing anything. I failed today and it made me feel guilty but more faithful somehow. Cause now I know I can go longer and longer possibly stop doing it from now on. Its babysteps as you say. I now believe I can go longer now.

Draven Muskego always keep God in your mind. Challenge yourself to always be better! A day will come when you think you will no longer needed. Trust me. I was a sex addict but I stopped and repent and now all the girls chase me around 😂 keep praying and challenge yourself. The devil will test you and surely God wants to see your faith in Him. As a struggling Christian who wrestles w/ sin in terms of watching pornography off and on I feel it is VERY unhelpful when ppl say "confess your sin to God and turn away from it" as if someone like me will read that and decide "Hmmmm ok your right. That helped and I'll never do it again". Smh We seriously should stop telling ppl these one liners as if it is helping. It only frustrates someone like me looking for practical steps to fight this temptation each time it pops up

If you confess your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior with your mouth and believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior with your heart then you ARE saved! There is only one unforgivable sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. We are not perfect and God is well aware of our weaknesses and shortcomings. This is why God sent His only begotten son to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus has already atoned for our sins on the cross. When we pass through the gates of Heaven we do so on His grace - not ours! So dont listen to Satan when he tells you that our sins are unforgivable.

Beyourberry all i did is stayed on that dirty thing and when i feel like to pray to god i instead didnt pray and did satans work im speechless.......i tried and prayed sometimes i felt like ill pray later any things stopped me and i didnt tried a bit properly i was like a weak ill stop no matter what.....im so weird 😢😢....after i do that thing and i start to feel guilty i should be running from it but i keep getting in im not christian but i wanna know god and wanna run away from sins(and now i think when time will pass and ill grow more and ill stop those things and get closer to god)i dunno what will happen.....im not type of person which im right now but devils made me do it and i was like yeaa lets enjoy i didnt knew this things were demons magic or something like that but i tried i prayed one or for 2 days i was good another day i didnt pray i felt like ill just do it and now im in same situation..

I will pray for you. Please consider the fact that you must fill yourself with the word of God. You can't just take those sinful thoutghs out. You must replace them with good ones . A empty house is vulnerable to be filled with demons but in a house full of God there's no space for sinful thoughts. I got the same battle and hear me. Don't be lazy, PRAY. Satan tell us lies about being helpless or puppets of our sins. HE IS LYING. No matter if you feel like it is true. IS A LIE because it contradicts the scriptures.there is hope. If you are willing to go on your knees in God's presence. The holy spirit will lead you in santification. But you must follow him. And that is all on us. Have you heard the Ephesians 1:13 "gospel of your salvation" by which lost souls are saved today? What is this gospel? Its written to us today at 1st Corinthians 15 verses 1-4 king james version. Believe: Jesus already forgave you and died for all your sins according to scripture: Because of Adams sin, there were none good in the eyes of God. All have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of God He [Jesus] who new no sin was made sin for you. He's NOT mad at you. He loves you. He litterally loved you to death. He reconciled himself to you, me, and the world. He made peace with you by way of his blood-stained cross, presenting himself as a perfect sacrifice for your sins. He was then buried WITH your sins, and rose again three says later WITHOUT your sins, so you would recieve this truth, believe it and be saved. Dont take my word for it. If you are in 100% agreement with God about doing his will for the rest of your life, you will become "dead to sin" as the Bible says (1 Peter 2:21-24, Romans 6:1-2, Romans 6:11): that is how you will be set free from sin. If you are dead to sin, then you will be walking in freedom and overcoming sins by the grace of God (Titus 2:11-14). That is different from being in a constant battle. You can be once and for all victorious in Jesus. It is important that you answer God's call to repentance the way the Bible teaches. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. God has created you to have natural sexual desires and there is nothing wrong with them, but heart purity and self-control in your thoughts and actions are a must (Matthew 5:8, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27). God calls us to love from a pure heart (see 1 Timothy 1:5, James 4:8, Isaiah 1:16-20). That will eliminate lust that makes one look at another person as a sex object. And that is possible with Jesus, but we need to not only believe it but also agree 100% with him to go in that direction. What God's grace promises to his servants who live for Him is "life and peace" (Romans 8:6), not a losing battle with natural urges and impure thoughts that result in sin certainly. You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts and don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. When thoughts come to you that you don't want to entertain, remind yourself of what will keep you focused on pursuing godliness (Philippians 4:8, Psalm 119:11, 2 Timothy 2:22). If you realize that you are trapped in sin and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Peter 4:1). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you. Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of a new life that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance],✷ receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. ✷Repentance means you turn from disobedience to God to obedience to God, then you continue on a path of faithful obedience to God, which is what faith is about-not sinning/deliberately disobeying God (the opposite). Hebrews 5:9 And having been made perfect, He [Jesus] became the author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. This is always a good place to start drawing near to God: Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. That will lead you to transformation by the power of God and freedom from sin, including a conscience that has been purged from "dead works"✷: Hebrews 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ✷The "dead works" are works of the flesh: Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, Colossians 3:5-10, Ephesians 5:3-5, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15. They should cease for a Christian who is following Jesus. The wrong focus will lead to wrong choices of committing those sins that lead to death (1 John 5:16-18). That is what something like watching pornography is part of. It is feeding the flesh with the sin it wants. When you receive the Holy Spirit, then you can live/walk/be led by the Spirit: Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. A person needs to get saved first of all and take exhortations like these seriously: Galatians 6:7-8 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. So, obedience to God is the key, starting with genuine repentance. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Sin is not a disciplinary issue as much as it is a heart issue. Focus on loving the lord literally more than your life, your pleasures, your goals. When someone is in love, nothing can distract them.

Chistoso Mike I would say start by reading the gospel.. Maybe try to find a church. But if you don't know God, and haven't encountered HIS love yet... simply speak to Him. Reach out in prayer to Him, close your eyes and believe that He is who He says He is. Believe that He loved you enough to die. Believe that He made every beautiful thing you see in this world. That His mercy is new every morning. That He saves those who cry out to Him. He has been there with you since you were conceived, He knit you together in the womb. He has been beside you every day of your life, speaking love over you, waiting for you to return His call. Speak to Him.

Lust is a very scary sin, i hope ill be forgiven and need to be on gods side.And thank you for answering questiona john.

I was deep in sexual sin For the vast majority of my Christian life. It was a tremendous weight that I carried for many years. Finally the day came when I said no more. The freedom I experience every day in God since I made that decision is wonderful. God has given me a lightness of spirit and simplicity of being that is fantastic !

I have been struggling with this for over 20 years. Sometimes i can go months without porn, masturbation or ejaculation but its a daily sin because i think of it everyday. Im praying and reading the Bible but it just keeps coming back all the time. Lying and stealing is nothing compared to this addiction. Anger and guilt and depression always comes and goes with it.

I struggle with the same, the thoughts keep flashing and the images keep flashing in my eye, and it scares me. I have fasted, prayed, cried, made a vow etc and I sometimes go for months without the thoughts but eventually I seem to fall.

I used to struggle with sexual sin! I was on dating apps after a divorce and when it was revealed to me that this was adultery on my exhusband and adulterers cannot go to heaven, I cried and cried and finally kind of said “Fine, God. I’ll figure out how to be alone for the rest of my life.” I woke up the next morning full of the Holy Spirit and delivered. It was amazing. That was Mother’s Day this year and I haven’t really looked back. You can do it, too!

I grew up in a Christian family. I loved God my whole life. At 16 I started to experience God daily and talked with him 24/7. I worshiped in my room alone every night for almost a year. I was completely committed to him and he changed my heart and mind. The year following, sin slowly crept in. In the past I had struggled with porn but always repented and was really trying to stop. Slowly I fell into sexual sin and it snowballed over a few years. I went into deep depression and doubted God’s existence. I never knew it would go that far. I’ve read Hebrews and I’m freaked out. Please pray for me and any encouragement would be appreciated. There’s a lot more to my story but kept it short for this.

Please pray for me I have struggled with gender dysphoria since my childhood and want to be set free from this lie thank you all

I've struggled with this last year and I've been praying every day non-stop (since March of this year) and reading God's words it's been almost a month and I rarely had any thought about sexual sin, more like I lost interest in those things. God brought me out of darkness and He will bring you out as well! Just have faith, do God's work, and obey His commands! Sometimes I do feel temptation but I know that's only my flesh wanting it and I run back to God and seek His help and forgiveness.

I'm a teenager. My problem is masturbation. I've been a stuck on it for about one year. All my friends at school say it's normal. I'm a Christian, so God has given me eyes to see that it is a sin. But it is so addicting I can't go a day without it. The most I've gone with help is 3 days. I need help. The funny thing is I see this sin and I know it's wrong. I've gotten angry at God for why he has let me fall into this sin. I think I know what my problem is. When I sin I get discouraged and I tend to not pray. Then I get mad and say a prayer every now and then. That's not the way to live. Prayer must be every day to battle these sins. Correct me if I'm wrong. But it's so hard to fall into guilt. Please let me know if you have been through a similar situation.

WARNING LONG POST, but I felt compelled to write it because I relate alot. I experience similar things, but after much searching, maybe this may or may not apply to you, but for me, masturbation is the sin I fall to when I already commit other 'subtle' sins. You are so right about prayer. Neglecting prayer, worship and bible reading (eating spiritual food), makes me spiritually weak and dry, then more busyness kicks in, you're weary and tired, because you haven't prayed to God your heart is not agile to respond to Him, all the while I become a softer and softer target for Satan. When I'm finally offguard, I plunge into the sin, usually unable to fight it but knowing its sin, because my spiritual stamina is depleted. At first I would stay feeling condemned for a long time. I was punishing myself, thinking I had a high view of God's holiness, that it was a righteous response. But God told me in those moments, I have a low view for the power of the gospel. Later, when I fall into this same sin, I learn to bounce back into repentance faster. I became more discerning of Satan's condemnations vs the Spirit's convictions. You can't clean up yourself and come to God. In a way my pastor said if I am immediately healed from it, I would become a religious snob, puffed up with pride thinking it was by my own strength, which is in a way just as bad as sexual sin. Its a war. My mistake is also not actively defending myself daily. In a war, soldiers don't laze around until they see an enemy, where they are off guard when the situation is safe, but fumble for their weapon when its already too late. The secret really is being ready before you see the enemy in sight. A proper soldier has his sword and bow before he sees the enemy ready to attack. Easier said than done... That means, with or without temptation in sight, you already anticipate that it might come. How do computer programs get cleaned? The files are not just deleted, new code is written, in this case, feeding yourself with the word. If you don't eat you die, same principle spiritually, which I admit, the reality only have just set in in the last few months over 5 years of battling this. Memorizing key verses is also vital. Proclaiming certain truths such as these help: I am the child of the living God, I belong to Jesus Christ, I have been buried and raised again with Christ, sin has no dominion over me. David said that he keeps his ways pure by storing the word in his heart. The words that will save you are not the words you read when you're looking for a verse in the bible, but words that have become alive in your heart. Although, by His Grace, fumbling throught the bible not knowing which verse to pull up can work but usually its too late. I have crucified my flesh at the foot of the cross. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW POWERFUL IT IS, SOMETIMES YOU ARE LITERALLY OVERCOME WITH SUCH PEACE YOU FORGET YOU WERE EVER TEMPTED. LIKE ITS LIFE CHANGING!!!!!!. But if you're waiting to be tempted, this prayer won't work. I have been in a situation where I know all these words but unable to utter them because I already flirted around with temptation. But masturbation is not the root sin, are you dissatisfied or bitter with your life? Where there is much dissatisfaction in life, with God, you are most vulnerable, again, easier said than done. Over the years I've learned that the culprit is really...neglecting time with Him, neglecting doing things for the kingdom, being Idle (this is huge one). One time, I haven't masturbated in a long time, and suddenly something happens in my family and I got angry with someone, I ended up falling into it again. If you quit Porn and Masturbation but make peace with anger or not being satisfied with God, its no good at all. Where I fell into it after 3 days, becomes months, then half a year. But I admit, something happened in my life that I ended up falling into it now its like...once every month, because I finally realize, there's a root sin I'm not dealing with. Don't lose hope brother! The gospel is power, the spirit raised Jesus from the dead can save you. Don't ask God to take away temptation, ask for God's Strength to fill you. Use your grace given authority to trample over the power of the enemies. Satan's lie is to say that you don't have power yet unless you ask God. If you're born again, you have authority. A wise man said, Joy precedes obedience not the other way around. I think spending time reading on God's promises for you, meditating on His greatness and awesomeness is the way before any act of discipline.

Also, just a word of warning, because the consequences of this sin are not as visible and damaging as commiting adultery with another person, because you do it secretly, and then after that, no one knows about it but you and God, sometimes I underestimate the consequence and fall into it again, because I don't experience fatal consequences, its a false sense of security. However I would feel the consequence days later, where I have difficulty praying, or praying for others, or doing anything. Recently though, I've fallen into it again after a long time of not doing it. 2 days later I was struck with the most pain I had in my life (not kidding) in my stomach/womb area. I thought to call my mom to take me to the doctor, but she wouldn't pick up for a long time, in the back of my mind I thought, I was desperate because it was excruciating, I couldn't get up. So I called one of my church leader, had her pray over me, break the powers of darkness and satan. MIRACULOUSLY, THE PAIN WAS GONE in an instant, this was after I cast out spirits of addiction and lust. After that, I guess it was like being bathed in cold water. God still loves me if I can fight it. I hope you don't come to that point. Better experience God's discipline through physical pain rather than having no ability to repent....BETTER THAN HELL OF COURSE. In that moment I thought, man, if this was hell, the pain wouldn't stop. But in all that, God showed mercy and love. Now I'm somewhat more...vigilant, only by His Grace, but the thing is, when you start to actively declare war on this sin, Satan will be like: OH BRING IT ON! But no fear, God is greater!

With all due respect to you, I want to telling you that it’s not right to get mad at God for something you’ve fallen into. That being said, God is more than willing to forgive those who repent. I’m no better off than you, because this is something I struggle with too. I will pray that you are set free from this, and that you will be able to understand how deep the Father’s love is for you.

I've learned the secret sauce that satan diesnt want Christian's to know. STAND ON HIS PROMISES. Recite them out loud ....His word does NOT return void. And watch that bondage fall of you. As Chrsitians we are not bound to sin. We arent married to sin. We died with Christ on the Cross. And are new creatures. Sin has no more dominion over you because you are not under law but under grace! Stand by that truth and watch God do amazing miracles.

I struggle too with fornication have slipped 5x in 4 months after a 5 year celibacy but I pray to God Lord Jesus let this be it the final time and countdown of turning away FOR GOOD with no return

@@lillieb4875 amen! Also remember Lillie do not find your Joy in your ability to obey God but in what he has done through his son Jesus. Many young Christians like myself put our Joy in our ability to read the Bible every day or not missing a prayer session or devotion type things. So, when we don’t do them or we miss a day our Joy is gone. Let it not be! Our Joy is not in our ability to obey God but what Christ has done! The true believer is not of the law but desires to keep its commands. The unbeliever is under the law but is naturally oppose to it. Salvation is not a reward for the righteous it is a gift for the guilty Have an amazing night! And I recommend watching Paul Washers sermon called Walking With God. Sometimes i stumble into sexual sin and even though i pray for forgivness, I just feel condemned and fearful... I think i may love God and am grateful for him dying for me and I accept him, but I dont feel very convcited. My repentance doesnt feel very genuine or heartbroken over my sin and its really scary. I pray and beg God to give me new affections for him and to soften my heart and to give me affirmation of salvation, but still I just feel scared and Im afraid Gods going to give up and im going to hell. Please pray for me. Pray that i would know genuine repentance amd conviction and a deep love for God❤ God bless

Isaiah 55:6-7 My scenario seems to be the same as yours. We must come to the point to where we don’t trust in our own abilities when dealing with this. I believe by scripture that habitually sinning is a sign of being lost. It’s scriptural no matter what people say. Which is scary. Let’s drive a knife through this wicked abomination by the sword of the spirit, the word of god. And prayer.

Nathon, you will always struggle with this old nature as long as you live in the flesh. I have got all kinds if perverted thoughts going through my mind all the time, but I am saved. There is a new man in me that does not sin, that is what saves me; Jesus Christ in me. When I die and put off this flesh, then what is left is the new man that does not sin. i couldnt have written what you wrote any differently if i tried. thats exactly how i feel. i ended up in lots of relationships since i got saved. why? well i struggled with fitting in with fellowship, so my walk took a nosedive. i always knew the truth though...and sort of thought 'oh well i will sort this out later' which just never happened. that is until a total disaster a few years ago. woman i knew took her own life and that just totally wrecked me. havent fooled about since. i wasnt the cause of what she did, but i wasnt in a place to help...not sinning the way i was. the whole thing has really screwed me up...but looking back at the time she died i could so easily have been implicated...so 'someone' was watching over me. i still struggle, i am only human. approaching middle age i am still single and have no family...nothing to show for my life. often wonder that if only i had watched me walk years ago, i might have been blessed with a wife and children? i dont know. for those just starting out in the Lord? DONT MESS AROUND WITH UNMARRIED SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS! its not worth it...at all.

I can answer this. The enemy will try to even after you have been forgiven, beat you over top of your head so that you will fall again for it and not choose the grace of God you already been given. It seems like if you agree with condemnation or guilt dwelling, you will overpower the sin. But that's a lie from the pit of Hell and you need to stop agreeing with it until it goes away. When you do that that spirit will stick around less and less. But you, be encouraged because you are overpowerig the world :)

It was actually wrong, acting like a genuine believer can get past the point of repentance. Nonsense. Once a Child of God, always a Child of God.

I too had this problem for two decades,but I've now overcome this and it's not easy to just quit. One can not do it alone without the help of God.Through prayer and devoting a great deal of time reading the Bible I'm managing the addiction that kept me away from the Holy Spirit. I will say in my experience the first 30 days were difficult,because I was experiencing withdrawals and temptations at high levels. Afterwards, I took it one day at a time by keeping my self occupied in bible reading,limited Internet and getting out of the house more often. Do not expect with the snap of a finger you'll overcome the addiction of pornography overnight, because it won't happen and you'll be disappointed. God still heals and answers prayers like he did in biblical times, I know he answered mine.

Thank you. Though this is a four year old video, its helped me realign myself with what i need to do. I have been struggling with this for many years now, but God has been helping me in ways i cannot understand and His mercies are miracles in themselves. Spring is coming, snows melting, and soon will be pike season. No time like the present to plan more time for God and contemplating his word in order to apply it to our lives.

I struggled with pornography for a long time. One night I asked the Lord "Why is it so hard for me to be free of this?" in the stillness of my heart the Lord answered me and said "You're struggling because you're trying to get free on your own strength and you're not trusting me to set you free". I saw a vision of Jesus on the cross and me, bound with chains, kneeling at the foot of the cross. The blood of Jesus ran down and dropped onto the chains and they broke into pieces. I unfortunately did watch porn again a couple times after that encounter with the Lord but I finally gave it all to the Lord and have been free ever since!

Alright listen ! sex is natural need, we are men, we have testosterone, we have lust, it's in our nature..... personally my sex drive is over-the top and it's impossible to stop it...... i can stop porn even by force BUT i can't stop my hormones ! i don't know about you...... sex is natural need and masturbation also ! i don't know how you overcome this but I CAN'T !

And then submit yourself and your will to the Holy Spirit. Submission is very important. It gives the Holy Spirit total access to the lusts of your flesh. Goodluck brother. God is with you❤️

@BradynLee porn is adultery of the heart but not as bad as full blown adultery as confirmed by Mike Winger. Still not good and regardless of the answer he should turn away. God is faithful to forgive those who repent and we should pray for freshy and all our brothers and sisters in Christ who struggle. Do you have any issues you want me to pray about for you? You can be as specific or as non specific as you want.

Let me tell you something folks; AFTER salvation, I was a drug addict. When I asked God to help me, He did. But I lost my bf, I suffered, but Jesus was victor. Since my sobriety God is closer, He blesses me abundantly and im not in horrible fear of hell. Imho, the crying out created a path. Which included repentance. Yes God is kind AND severe but my own experience shows His mercy is unfathomable. However, He chooses whom to have compassion and mercy on. Please cry out and ask God how to flee sexual sin. He will make a path... ❤️ in Jesus

I'm infinitely grateful to God that he picked me up out of my backsliding and helped turn against my sexual sins. I will never send him away again. Since I've repented I've been able to abstain from my sins through God's power and all I can hope for is his mercy and guidance. Thank you Lord.

Let me just say this, God will never walk away from a person who believes and we cannot send God away. On the contrary, we are the ones who walk away from God when we stop believing in Christ. Jesus indicated clearly that if we remain in him, he will also remain in us, showing that the initiative to depart from the other rests with us and not with God who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. [John 15:3-4 NIV You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.]

I will add that believing implies obeying. That is precisely the way to remain in Jesus, in his love: John 15:9-10 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

*repentance is not self-produced. it comes with faith as we look at Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for us* *”Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”* i was very messed up for a long time (and still struggle sometimes) in feeling that i had to somehow cry “real tears”. sorrow does accompany salvation, but to try to work it up in myself is just that. a work. it will not save me or impress God. i will never be sorry enough for sin just like i will never love Christ as much as he deserves. Paul Washer has a great clip titled “don’t expect a perfect repentance”

Does God expect a perfect repentance? He does not want anyone approaching Him to be double-minded (James 4:8). It's like coming to a marriage and it is perfectly possible to turn the page to past partners once and for all. When it comes to the relationship with Jesus, sin is our master that He delivers us from, and going forward Jesus is to reign over our hearts. And it is possible to one who wholeheartedly turns to Jesus and hunger and thirsts for righteousness (Matthew 5:6) to not have an experience of going back and forth between having his/her eyes on Jesus and having his/her mind/heart/emotions turned toward sin. So, it is fitting to ask whether the idea that someone has of repentance lines up with what God calls repentance. You can read about Jesus' call to repentance in Matthew 12:41 that will send you to an actual example of what God expects in Jonah 3:10. We learn that because that wicked city repented at the preaching of Jonah, it was spared the judgment God was ready to punish it with. Now imagine if 10% of the people were "struggling with", say, idol worship as the excuses go today about continuing to commit various sins, knowing right from wrong but still choosing to do wrong. That would simply translate to a failure to repent. We are better off being in agreement with God: James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Being double-minded will lead to 100% failure to repent (which God does not expect). And it will be understood because if the promise of "[God] will draw near to you" is not fulfilled, the only way to look is toward oneself and consider whether one had drawn near to God in fact. God is absolutely involved in the process of repentance. But a sinner can't be waiting on God while God is waiting on him to make a choice about how he is going to live in response to his call to turn to Him.

Make sure you approach God the way He expects you to with the right mindset. You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. That's what your attitude needs to be when you are going through the process of *repentance* and committing to be obedient to God for the rest of your life (that's the kind of "change of mind" God wants to see). You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key--that's how you show your faith to God (John 3:36, Luke 6:46, Hebrews 3:17-18). That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is the salvation you must make sure you have experienced: freedom from sin (John 8:36, Romans 8:1-2) versus bondage to sin (John 8:34, Romans 7:23). Approaching God in genuine repentance will lead to you receiving the Holy Spirit to lead you to "walk by the Spirit" (Acts 2:38, Galatians 5:16)--with a pure heart and self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Any habit that controls you reveals idolatry in your heart. You have to choose to be done with that and it will be part of your past. That's one thing that will come out of your commitment to be obedient to God for the rest of your life. Please see 1 Peter 4:1-3 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls [that's repentance]. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. this is what has helped me with my addiction to porn and random sex. I've always heard about the no fap/semen retention and it was the very beginning of last year that I watched this specific video that changed me forever. I felt like I had to do it now, I felt like God was telling me to do this and so I did. I haven't watched porn nor masturbated since that night. that was a year and a half ago and I've only slept with two other women (who I was dating but had feelings for) I made it 6 months while retaining a year ago and now currently I'm over 7 months on the highest streak yet. i feel absolutely amazing now mentally and physically. God replaced a temporary pleasure with something better and its a great thing he has done for me. id recommend turning to this goal and he'll help you fight the urges like he did me. God bless!

amen, tarkov, my suggestion here is to now seek a marriage with one woman and have only sexual relations with her. I am trying to do the same i know its not easy to find a christian woman who wants or respects a man who tells her no to such a thing but its doable.

These truths set me free: If the eye is good the whole body is good. Whatever causes you to sin cut it out. So get rid of movies, shows and social media or anything that has sexual content. Because a little yeast spoils the whole dough. And pray that you won’t fall into temptation; father lead me not in temptation, and deliver me from evil.

@@dimitrypittman143 Indeed. This video rubbed me the wrong way and confused me more about "salvation" in general as far as what the bible says about it. We must be quick to repent every time and confess "genuinely" and keep praying. Once saved, you never lose salvation and the bible is clear about that too. But for this, you must be a genuine believer of Christ and do the will of the Father as per Matthew 7:21 and John 6:40.

God is merciful and forgiving

So basically he says: "If you sin enough God will leave you and you never know when. You need to pull yourself together"... people, this is preaching from the Devil himself! The devil wants you to be discouraged. No, God has forgiven ALL sin on the cross, he has forgiven all sin you will ever commit!! All you have to do is to trust in Jesus as Lord and savour and repent from the how you think! Repentance as in "better habits" is a gift from God and you can't earn his forgiveness by "repenting" enough. Just believe! Believe the good news and follow Him because you have learned of his love for you. Don't do it in your own strength, know how much he loves you and let him change you by learning from him.

That would suggest you can lose your salvation which is not possible. If you go back to the world after you claim you were saved I would question that you were ever saved to begin with. The one sin that is not overlooked is blaspheme of the Holy Spirit. I do not agree with this man's interpretation based on the situation presented here.

This question gave me some flashbacks of my long addiction and made me cry and glorify Jesus one more time for His deliverance! I was bound in these sins and choosed them more than God. I was so many times in depression because of this, and there was no hope that i ever, ever will be free from this and be saved. Many times was weighting either to kill myself so not to sin and be punished more or to remain alive, maybe God will give me grace and mercy. And praise God Jesus! He delivered me from these sins!! And I think the best what we can do is to cry out to God for help, to fast showing that you really mean it more than food and water, to know His beauty more and more and His promises and His character so He will be more valuable in our eyes than the sin. And for some guys that can be the case that you need to get married. Paul said about this in 1 Cor 7:9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 1 Corinthians 7:9 NASB Why he said to get married but not looking for freedom not to sin while being single? Because I think that you are functioning normal and for you it's not given this gift to live alone but you need to get married. And until you do that you will strugle with this. And all this I think is again because of our blindness to see God more beautiful than the sin which i think is the most wicked thing going on in the world. So get married , and if in marriage ano other lust sin appears that means you need freedom. For me it was that when I got married with God's grace and freedom all those sexual sins fade away. And that's God's grace and mercy. And don't strugele anymore with these, BUT I need to be all the time on guard what I see, where do I look and all the time to avoid sinful imagination, all the time to avoid those people that are dressed this way that may start this sinful imagination, and that is sad that our society is full of things that stimulates sexual imagination. (Magazines, books, clips, movies, people the way they dress and so on) but that's the battle and God promissed us not to be tempted more than we are able to endure but prepared the escape way in all temptations and Jesus said, pray not to enter the temptation and I understand to pray more if we entered temptation, also to fast as Jesus fast when He was tempted so we can manipulate the source of our temptation which is our flesh and to meditate on God's word in temptations and use it as Jesus used the word of God. May God bless and give grace to all those who are hopeless and seek freedom. GOD IS THE HOPE, AND HE REALLY MADE ME FREE FROM MY SEXUAL ADDICTIONS! PRAISE THE LORD JESUS!!!

Amen. Praise God! You know by experience that God delivers, you have assurance in the way you are walking because God's grace is with you. It's sad to see a believer wanting to find assurance in a verse taken here and another verse taken there, and miss the freedom that is in Christ.

Praise Jesus!! I want to be free too. I’ve tried to fast but it didn’t do much. Should I do it longer??

I have the courage to say this to anyone struggling and think there is no hope this may help: I have seen the worst kinds of pornography. The WORST kinds. I've had sexual problems and sin and confusion throughout my childhood and into early adulthood affecting not only myself, but family members and division between the home. I've fought this and still fighting to this day. Me and my girlfriend live together, we sleep in the same bed and do not have sex. We keep our thoughts pure, and keep our mind, body, and spirit on God. Because Jesus Saved me and us. that's all that matters now. No one is Good. No not one. Only God. We are ALL sinners. And I am one of the worst my friends reading this. But even someone so stuck like I was can even be saved. PRAISE GOD!

Same! I looked at the worst kinds, unspeakable kinds and God was so great merciful saved me anyway. No one deserves it but I felt particularly unworthy. In truth I was and am. But he has and is helping me better. I've repented from porn and from excuses, another sin I had badly. He's so great even messed up people like most that other sinners would look at as hopeless he gave and gives hope. That hope is Jesus. Hope to live for him not our base desires and be saved not from our works, but from faith, repentance and his righteousness and mercy.

@BradynLee yeah I know, I don't want to speculate on what he's watched, it doesn't matter. It could be extreme anything, there are a lot of other bad categories besides that are best left unsaid. He may suffer in this life or face the consequences for his sin. Gods forgiveness is more important however. The answer now is as simple as it always was. Repent and serve the lord now. Whatever you've done just serve the lord now. I've messed up a few times in this so I don't want to make it sound like its always easy or I have never failed because I have. But the foot of the cross is always the answer. We have a just but merciful God. A broken heart and a contrite spirit are pleasing to the lord. Anyone who lacks in these areas should pray for them.

Oh how bitter is the devil's tonic mixture: tempter and accuser, the double punch. How great is that darkness as mine eye causes me to sin. Who will rescue me from my body of decay? Thank God for Christ unbelievable and precious sacrifice for me on the cross, guilty as I am: His light shines on the floor revealing my adversary true motive: there it lay my shield of faith right by my feet where I had been woefully stumbling. Pick it up and remember the tender love your heavenly Father feels towards you, how he abandoned the 99 sheep to pursue the lost one, remember His great humble love: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Very powerful way to deliver this message I deal with the same thing but recently deleted all types of things like this from my computer including personal videos I had with ex girlfriends I no longer wish to sin and lust and even when I look at a woman and start to feel I might lust I look away!

The greater challenge is do you believe that God still loves you in spite of your “sin”. That is what God is more concerned about. This love will constrain you to walk in purity.

i am struggling with sexual sin, specifically masturbation & lustful thoughts it’s very difficult to overcome but whatever is imposible with man is possible with God! I’ve heard that fasting & prayer can help us get self-delivered THROUGH Jesus i’m going to try it, i find it hard to fast as well but i have to do it

Make sure you approach God the way He expects you to with the right mindset. You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. That's what your attitude needs to be when you are going through the process of *repentance* and committing to be obedient to God for the rest of your life (that's the kind of "change of mind" God wants to see). You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key--that's how you show your faith to God (John 3:36, Luke 6:46, Hebrews 3:17-18). That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). God is ready to forgive you as soon as you approach Him in humility, with a repentant heart and a well made up mind, like the prodigal son who came back to his senses and returned to his father (Luke 15:11-24). The key is genuine repentance. That's necessary for forgiveness. Please see the videos in my playlist called _"Be Set Free From Sin"_ for help. I was living with my boyfriend and haves daughter together.. sexual sin was almost inevitable because we live together.. but I was tired of the guilt and shame after each encounter. I even started feeling sick physically. I repented and God strengthen us and led us to marriage.

I asked the Lord to remove my spirit of lust from my heart. I used to live a promiscuous lifestyle...but for the longest time I've refrained from dating. Except for when I got involved with a married man from work. It didnt go anywhere past the few kisses we shared and some messages. I'm glad we didnt do anything. But it's still aduktery. He doesnt think so but I actually prayed for their marriage. As much as it hurt me and caused me anguish when he completely rejected. I wanted to tell his wife about our affair and he threatened to kill me. I fell into deep depression. Then I came to realize that this is what I prayed for and satan was angered and that's why he tried to destroy me afterwards with feelings of guilt and shame. But praise Jesus He knows I confessed my sins and repented. I no longer feel ashamed but I admit I'm a sinner but Jesus paid for my sin on the cross. The devil loses this battle. I am going to keep praying for those in bondage and continue to pray for God to strengthen their marriage.

But I'm dealing with my hostile hateful nature, and right now I still feel like anybody who does something to somebody deserves cruel retaliation. The Bible says “all sins will be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” what this means is when you sin so much that you become unable to feel the Holy Spirit.. And never repent. Then you die. Then it is over. I didn’t watch this video because of the comments I see a lot of people saying that he said there’s a certain cut off point to Gods forgiveness ? I don’t believe that to be true. The Bible says In 1 John 1:9 “and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Another verse in the Bible 2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Jesus also says through peter in peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” But Paul also writes that just because all things are permissible doesn’t mean everything is beneficial, and he goes on to talk about how we who are born again shouldn’t seek the things of this world. Shouldn’t seek sin or fulfill the lust of the flesh. We must turn away and repent. My point is this. God sees your heart, he sees your struggle, he understands your pain, but take it to him! Take it to him and lay your sexual sins at his feet and give it to him! He says he sets life and death before you, choose life! Don’t let this sin keep you back from him. Don’t let this sin overtake you the Bible says he won’t let you be tempted beyond what you can bear but he always provides a way out. He says to flee from temptation! I fail at times but I’m striving towards no more of that! And I know with Gods help and spirit I will accomplish this! In Jesus name.

When you sin for a long period of time n be comfortable with it you lose your salvation. Not forever but it won't be there when you look for it. Here's a good example salvation is like the top of a mountain when you constantly sin you fall all the way to the bottom. In order to regain that salvation you have a long climb to the top. This means to fully repent, abandon ALL your earthly flesh desires. Give your entire life to Christ n you can obtain it again. It'll be extremely difficult but it's defenitely worth it

Wait, wait...blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is what Jesus addressed at the time the Pharisees accused Him of casting out devils by the power of satan. Jesus responded, "How can satan cast out satan? A house divided against itself cannot stand" (Matthew 12:26; Mark 3:23-29). They rejected the power of God in Christ and refused to give credit to the Holy Spirit by the miracle Jesus performed. Many times during their accusations and attempted traps, they KNEW who Jesus was. They did not want to be humbled from their position of status. @ftank frega calleja I don't believe we stayed saved or earn salvation by works. It is by grace through faith. @@claytonwright2416 Sound doctrine. Thank you brother. God will never stop loving us even when we sin, however sin can make us stop loving God. God casting Adam and Eve from the garden was a blessing. (Gen 3:22) Eating of the tree of life and living in a sinful state forever would have been horrific. Also when God spoke to Cain (Gen 4:9) Cain did not seemed surprised, but more like it was a normality to have God speak to Him.. all this was after the fall.

I think he was talking about how someones heart can be hardened where they no longer seek repentence and some people try to seek repentence but its not genuine.

Fall in Love with Christ! And there will be no room for sin. There are temptations but you have to act out to make it a sin. Ask God for a conviction so strong that you are aware of what you are doing or about to do and the Holy Spirit will give you strength to stop yourself. Pray for self control and purity of the heart cause it all starts at the heart. I Love God's conviction it gives me warnings to stop and deny the enemy and he flees. By the name of Jesus alone we have the power to make the enemy flee and tremble. I pray for each of yall who read this that God is with you, and Jesus is the only way!

You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts. But don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. If you realize that you are trapped and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you. Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You just need to approach God the way He expects you to. And your life in Christ will not be a cycle of keeping on sinning and asking for forgiveness. James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Yeah but it is written in 1st john "no one who lives in him keeps on sinning .no one who continue to sin has either seen him or known him" ..So if one has been to Jesus, he/she will not turn back to the same sin thinking that Jesus is there to forgive him/her.thats testing God.

yes, its true. I should know...having gotten into a lot of disasters. The real danger (apart from bringing a new life into this world) is you can get lured into a very nasty Trap. The darkness of this world wants to kill you off, spritually if not physically. I know this from terrible experience, one very fateful weekend could have gotten a LOT worse...I am convinced Someone had my back. I havent fooled around since (its almost 5 years now) what I am saying is..you fool about, you are playing russian roulette. God will have seen all manner of Sin, stuff that non of us can even imagine. If Christ died for it all...it was ALL.

Although my struggle is not with Sexual sin I stumbled upon your channel tonight at the right moment when I would be able to hear. I am a heroin addict and have 1 year clean. Lately I have been in a dark place. And have not been feeling Gods presence around me. But what u said about us needing not to become a victim to the lies Satan is surrounding us with daily. And needing to stop going in and out of distorted views of the world, which is something I feel I have always struggled with and especially in my 11 years of heroin and fentanyl addiction. It's Satan's same old tactics and IM allowing myself to be attacked. Thank u for your channel and the word delivered Pastor John. 🙏❤️

Hi! Have you received the message of God who is calling all people to repent (Acts 17:30-31)? That is the way to be forgiven for sins we have committed up to that point of turning to God and turning the page from the way we had lived until then. That opens the door to receiving God's healing and the gift of *a new life* that we will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Prayers work together with what you need to have a resolve to do on your end. Make sure you approach God the way He expects you to with the right mindset. You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. That's what your attitude needs to be when you are going through the process of *repentance* and committing to be obedient to God for the rest of your life (that's the kind of "change of mind" God wants to see). You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key--that's how you show your faith to God (John 3:36, Luke 6:46, Hebrews 3:17-18). That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is the salvation you must make sure you have experienced: freedom from sin (John 8:36, Romans 8:1-2) versus bondage to sin (John 8:34, Romans 7:23). Approaching God in genuine repentance will lead to you receiving the Holy Spirit to lead you to "walk by the Spirit" (Acts 2:38, Galatians 5:16)--with a pure heart and self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Any habit that controls you reveals idolatry in your heart. You have to choose to be done with that and it will be part of your past. That's one thing that will come out of your commitment to be obedient to God for the rest of your life. Please see 1 Peter 4:1-3 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9. Raj Benny if you hate sin and want to turn away then that means the Holy Spirit is working within you to help you!!! God's grace will help you overcome sin and live a new life that is pleasing to Him (Titus 2:11-14). But it starts with repentance first, in the way that the Bible teaches it.
