Has CHRIS BROWN Reached His Full Potential? Here's What Stunted His Growth!

Chris Brown is one of the most talented individuals I've ever seen artistically. In that field, I really believe he could've chosen any route he wanted to, but settled on music and became a superstar at one point. He was a triple threat in that he could sing, dance, and had the look perfect for a modern RnB singer. His career began at the young age of 15, but before he was 20, he had already seen the lowest point of #fame and was scrutinized to the point he considered ending music all together. Thankfully he didn't and continued to produced amazing music that personally other than Michael Jackson, I don't think there's been a better RnB singer. But believe it or not, he could've been even better. Here's what Stunted his Music Growth.

Regardless of who was at fault he should have had restraint and just left her. Instead he laid hands on her and that was that. It change his image forever and he rebelled in it. It sucks but that's how it fell. The other items you present do add to his stunt. Sure, he is still relevant. But, he could've been so much more.

I don’t think it stunted him. His career isn’t over and in music and entertainment; you can peak more than once. It happens all the time. I feel like we haven’t seen his peak because he hasn’t peaked as a person yet. He’s still growing and hopefully his experiences will continue to push him to greater heights. Also we all make mistakes and bad decisions especially when we are young and then to add fame, fortune, and influence is a lot for a teen. All we can do is just pray for the brother and hopes that he just continues to put God first and let him order his steps. As fans; all we can do is observe through the lens but to know what he feels and goes through is not the same thing. Just pray for him and support him and offer fair constructive criticism is what’s best. But he hasn’t peaked yet. The best is yet to come.

People need to realize that the video isn’t saying Chris hasnt been successful or he’s not a legend. But before the DV altercation, Chris was on his way to becoming a major, global pop act. He was practically at the cusp of it. The backlash from the altercation definitely altered his career trajectory. I agree with the video, if the Rihanna altercation never happened and if he never embraced the “bad boy” persona, he could’ve been much larger and successful than he is today.

Holds the #1 & #2 spots for longest-running #1s on rhythmic radio. Completed the ultimate comeback from a situation that would’ve killed almost anyone else’s career. Widely considered one of the best performers of his generation. Widely considered a/the king of R&B. Has maintained an insanely loyal fanbase. Had a #1 record while in prison. Has been one of the most hated figures on the planet for 12 years now and still accomplished everything I previously mentioned and more. What exactly makes so many say he didn’t “reach his potential”?

I think what bothers me the most about this topic is that it’s so often the conversation when Chris’ name comes up in terms of his overall career and legacy. Like, we get it, he was poised to be the next Michael Jackson and messed it up. So, in short, no, he did not reach his full potential. That’s not where the conversation should stop, or start, for that matter. What Chris has done and is continuing to do even today is one of the most impressive careers in R&B and music in general. Even if you took away the controversy or applied his stats to another artist, it would still be undeniably great. He literally stands at the top of his lane and yet people still say he should be more. Why not speak about what he actually has done?

Those advertisements never came back and he lost a huge bag but thank God he’s as talented as he is because he still one of the best in the game right now the only person he could face in the Verzuz (no not Usher either) would be his younger self and that says a lot.

Not to put Chris Brown in a box, but he pretty much could have been the black version of Justin Timberlake. He could have had ya mommas, ya grandmas, ya uncles, everybody nodding to his sound. He was built for crossover success and the Rihanna incident forever derailed it. When Run It came out, every guy was trying to dance like Chris Brown. Every guy in the club is trying to show off their moves. I was 21 in 2005 and this song bopped! He had all the talent to not just be an urban success, but crossover into suburb and international success. I haven’t followed Chris Brown much as I’ve gotten older, but his 2005-2011 run was Justin Timberlake level success for a black man. He couldn’t be stopped and he was everywhere!
